Came here on a weeknight for Happy Hour and was disappointed. Ordered the poke nachos, Lil Fowl Mouth (chicken and waffles), and Fun-Guys (tempura mushroom). The chicken and waffles were subpar - the chicken tenders were over cooked and waffles were not crispy at all. Other photos of the same dish seem to show there was supposed to be an additional sauce drizzle, but ours only came with maple syrup. For the poke nachos, the ratio of fish, topping, and chip was totally off and seems to be missing sauce. Quite frankly, the poke nachos from Yard House are so much better. The mushrooms were weird - there was so much moisture that wasn't cooked out from the mushroom that it seeped through the fry batter. Service was incredibly slow and difficult to flag down our server. Ambiance was modern and hip. I like that HH is all-day on Tuesday's through Thursday's, and the concept of everything being fried or battered is intriguing, but I would not return. read more

Food: 6.5/10 - UPSTREAME POKE: This appetizer was so flavorful and delicious. A ton of flavors packed into a decently sized nacho plate. Did not manage to take a photo of it because we demolished it so fast. I would come back here just for these nachos. -GLAZED OVER: The burger was well cooked and seasoned. Although the concept of sweet and savory is eye catching, it did not work here. The donut bun was a little on the sweet side for some of my friends. But if you have a sweet tooth, this burger may be perfect for you. Everything else does come together nicely. -RICE RICE BABY: This rice dish I would rate 6.5/10. Personally, the rice was really soggy and mushy. The essential component of the rice felt like as if the rice has been sitting for a long time. The flavor profiles of the topping were really nice. The chicken I got with it was cooked nicely, a little on the dry side. And the corn and pico had intense flavor in it. But the rice really did not taste good itself. -VEG OUT PASTA: The pasta was INTENSEEEEE. When I say the first bite of the pasta was packed with the most flavor, I mean it. The closest description I can give this dish is a pasta-style elote. It's really good!!! Highly recommend this dish for people with a savory tongue. It is on the saltier side, so as you eat it, it may get a little overwhelming. I would rate this dish 7.5/10. -BLACK SHEEP: I don't have too much to say about this burger besides, NICE. If you do not know what to choose on the menu, pick this! Great tasting and good portions. Unique flavors and overall satisfying burger. Service: The servers were really nice, but it took them a while to serve us. We were ready and waited for about another 10-15 minutes before someone came to us. And the restaurant was not busy at all! Ambiance: It is a nice place with good aesthetics. There is plenty of seatings and a tv for sports games. If you are lucky and get a chance to sit in the booth near the back, it is really pretty. There is a nice photo opportunity for a group of people. LD;DR: Overall, decent food. I was hoping they had a bigger menu but they didn't. Either way I found something I always get at other restaurants. The chilaquiles. When my plate arrived, I thought, why did I order this?! This doesn't look like chilaquiles. But now I had to try it. So I broke the hard shell tortilla and mixed everything. Let me say, these were some of the BEST chilaquiles I've ever had!!!! I was so surprised because the portion also looked small. But they had such a unique flavorful taste. I'd go back just for that! Ambience wise... We had an awful experience here on Father's Day. The hostess did not honor our request for a low top table put into opentable weeks in advance, due to having Kids. She insisted there was no request, being quite rude. She then placed us at a high top table which we agreed to make work. 5 min later she said she'd need to put another party next to us at the same table, which would make the table extremely crowded with 2 small kids balancing on high top chairs. So ultimately we left without dining, causing our 4 year old to cry, who was so excited to eat at "the pirate restaurant". Sadly the hostess ruined our experience and we ended up going to J Riley's instead where they are much more accommodating of kids. read more

This was my 2nd visit here. Owner sat us down and was friendly initially. First thing My Young Son's said was "these chairs feel like we are going to fall through" i agreed and quickly remembered these chairs from my first visit 6 mos ago. The Waiter was an absolute sweetheart he mentioned it was his second day. My Boy's asked the Owner, who was on his laptop at the bar for the Wi-Fi code and he said he doesn't give it out because it will slow down his Wi-Fi. My Older Son ordered the chicken strip kids meal and he loved it. My other Son ordered the burger meal. The bun was black which i assured him it was just food coloring but his burger was completely pink. I would have never had not even one bite but My Son does not like to complain about anything. I had the poutine fries with rib meat and the mozzarella bites in it as well as the meat was cold. I did not send it back I have seen some terrible things about what has been done to patron's food for sending orders back. We also ordered the beignets so they could try them for the first time. The boys had to go to the restroom which was outside the establishment, very typical for Redlands but when they took too long to return I went to find them and those restrooms were absolutely filthy and smelled disgusting. I had to immediately come back out before I threw up my food. Again the Waiter was the best experience about this place. Upon leaving the Owner did not say "thank you, see you next time" or acknowledge us at all between us and the other 5 Patron's dining there. It's totally fine and we won't be back or recommend. Cold food that is meant to be warm can cause food poisoning but they are in the restaurant business so I'm sure they're well aware of this. I want to love this place. I've been a few times. The food was great the first time I came. This time it was just okay. The burger that my son had was good, but he said the sweet glaze on the charcoal bun ruined it a bit for him. It was too sweet. His waffle fries were not hot either. I had the hashed out bowl. It was good. The meat was very tender. The biggest complaint would be the service. The servers are too lax and don't check up on you at all to see if you need refills or if there's anything else you need. Our server came at the end of the meal to see how we were doing. Our plates were clearly empty and we said we were doing fine and she just walked away. I would think at that point you would grab the dishes and ask if we needed the check. Instead the server went to work on organizing condiments at the bar. I finally flagged her down to get the check. I would say that this is more of a bar atmosphere. If you sit at the bar you will get the attention that you need. Dining not so much. I've been here three times around the same time. Came with some friends for the first time on a Thursday for trivia night! I didn't expect the whole place to be packed, but we eventually got seated at a table and were able to join in on trivia! It was just ok. We came for dinner on a weekday night and I didn't expect it to be so casual, almost like a diner. Which is fine, just not what I expected. Our first round of drinks were really good but my second was so strong and not what I expected based on the description that I didn't order another: 3 stars overall on the drinks. All the food we tried was really good though: 4 stars. On Thursdays, there's a few food specials and each one was good. Service was also slow although our waitress was a sweetheart. It was trivia night which may have had something to do with it. I might come back on a trivia night. The host was great and the teams answer electronically so it's not slow. The weird thing is that even though it was far from being time to close, once trivia was over, the place cleared out. When we left, still an hour before closing, chairs were on tables and I felt like they were waiting for us and couple others to leave lol I struggled a bit deciding how many stars because like I said, the food was good. We got there when they first opened. So it was freezing!!! Uncomfortably so but the poor bartender/server was running so much he was sweating. We didn't have the heart to ask them to heat the room. The ambiance is incredible at this restaurant. We love to sit at the window and people watch while having a drink and brunch. However, I was super disappointed with my meal this day. My mom and I were looking for a breakfast spot after our workout and came across this restaurant. It's located across the street from City Hall. I loved that the windows were garage style to provide open air. My mom ordered the chicken and waffles and I ordered the hash (can't remember the exact name). Both came highly recommended by our server and let me just say, she didn't steer us wrong. The potatoes with my hash were crispy, the beef was tender and flavorful. The chicken has perfect breading and was perfectly cooked. The waffles were like nothing I've had before as it was more cornbread than your normal waffle - amazing. First time visiting and had an "okay" experience, but I would return for another try. Busy area of downtown, so parking can be tough to find. SERVICE: They could've used another wait person or two. Wasn't super busy, but a lot for one bartender and one floor waiter. I specifically asked our waiter to make sure our appetizer, which we ordered early, would not come out at the same time as our entrees. Unfortunately, the entrees were brought out about a minute after the appetizer. This is my biggest pet peeve at a restaurant...timing of the courses. DRINKS: We ordered a couple beer flights. Mine included the Mexican Lager, Bikini Blonde Ale, Champagne Velvet Pilsner, and Barrel Aged Vanilla Bean Wreck Alley. All were good, but my favorite was the Wreck Alley. It also happened to be the highest ABV, but very smooth and quite tasty. They have a decently stocked bar, so if you're not a beer person, there are cocktails and sodas. FOOD: We started by sharing a Ceviche. For entrees, we ordered the "Obscene Poutine" and a "Don't Be Chicken" fried chicken sandwich. The ceviche was fresh, but needed a little salt, which we were able to add ourselves. The poutine was one of the better ones I've had, especially with the mini cheese sticks, jalapeños, and cross-cut fries. I tried my wife's chicken sandwich, and it was also quite good. The establishment is beautiful--modern, clean, and well-maintained. The staff is always attentive and welcoming. I've visited many times and always enjoy being served by Fray, who is excellent. I stopped there for brunch and it's a cool, modern-industrial breakfast space. I saw some gallon and 1/2 gallon breakfast booze drinks going by and would've ordered that if there were more than 2 of us. They also have mimosa flights which are always an excellent choice to throw on a brunch menu. More drinks! I had the Fashionable Pig which was made really well, but I also had the Stay-Cay which was excellent! My friend had the Trailblazer, which she thought would be a bit more creamy from the picture of the cocktail, but she still liked it. She really liked the Forbidden Fruit she ordered as her last drink. My friend and I shared the beignets with their berry dipping sauce and they were fine. I had the Chilaquiles which was fine too, but my friend had the Hashed Out (short rib hash) which was better than mine, but only after I added salt. Bottom line is the service was great, ambience was great, drinks were really good and the food was good.
