Came here for the first time for breakfast and wished I would've went with my first choice around the corner. The coffee was disgusting. Ordered the chicken wing appetizer which the sauce was it's only saving grace. Otherwise, the chicken wing appetizer was very bland. To make matters worse, used their pen to sign my transaction at the end of the meal and it leaked ink all over hand and fingers. Asked for door-code to restroom and it was a walk. A walk where I was sent outside the restaurant in shared space in a hallway. Bathroom was not clean. Customer service was excellent, but the food was awful. I highly NOT recommend this place. If I can give this place 100 stars I would! Brought my husband for some birthday month brunch, It was his pick & our first time at Batter Rebellion & we have nothing but great things to say. The service was beyond great, shout out to the 2 women who were running the place. The place is clean & has such a cool aesthetic/atmosphere. Playing great alternative hits. Now for the best part, the food was so delicious, we plan on coming back to try some more. We had plain Jane waffles as appetizers. I have never EVER tasted waffles this fluffy, flavorful, & delicious. Best waffles ever! We also had chilaquiles which were so good as well. It was a very unique plate, with pinto beans, & meat. So perfectly made. I ordered a michelada, their house mix is delicious, I 100% recommend if you are a Miche Gal/Guy. The women overheard us talking about my husband's birthday month & they were so kind to bring him a free dessert. Our overall experience was beyond pleasant. Rocky start, but solid finish at @batter.rebellion. Upon entry, service was abrasive and unwelcoming. Despite the unpleasant interaction, I stayed and was seated 15 minutes later. Once inside, I learned that they only had 2 servers on shift to cover the entire restaurant, which explained why I was greeted so abruptly. My experience was much better once I was seated. I had the kiss my hass fried avocados, 20,000 leagues squid ink pasta, and the glazed over burger. The avocado was a lot better than I expected it to be. It had delicious cream cheese inside and was drizzled with a yummy sauce. The real star was the squid ink pasta, specifically the sauce. It was fantastic. The dish was served with 5 jumbo shrimp, and each bite was a succulent morsel. Lastly, the burger was just okay. Nothing special. I felt like it was missing something, and the glazed bun made my hands sticky and was a mess to eat. Probably wouldn't go for the burger again, but everything else was great. read more

What brought us here was that I had purchased a Groupon for a mimosa flight as a gift. It was an early Sunday afternoon and the bar wasn't that busy so we sat next to the sidewalk stools to people watch. The bartender or waiter forgot about us and I had to request the flights at the bar, but after that the waiter kept coming by checking up on us. The flight was pretty good and I enjoyed my IPA on tap, which was reasonably priced. There's a bar next door that was very loud and this bar was more relaxing without a large crowd or too much noise. read more

I hate leaving bad reviews but I have no choice :( The ambiance of batter rebellion is super cute, it's nice and trendy! The bathroom is not located within the location but is close by, just fyi. My husband and I love brunch and batter rebellion offers all day brunch so we decided to pop in. We had to wait 20 min but that's not a problem since there is so much to do/walk around. The menu has a lot to chose from and they offer a mimosa flight, which we got. Not a ton of flavor in the mimosas, I could mainly taste the champagne which is fine. We started with pretzel bites which were really good, not too salty and soft. The sauces were okay but none stood out. My husband got chicken and waffles. The waffle was okay as well but I definitely prefer a crispy waffle and this one was a little too soft. The fried chicken was amazing!!!! Super super good. It was seasoned well and was super crispy! It was fried to perfection. The chilaquiles which they spell as chilaquilas (not sure if that's on purpose?) were 2 stars. I love chilaquiles in general but batter rebellion has altered them to be on tostadas instead of tortilla chips. They also put beans with liquid. I absolutely hate when chilaquiles are soggy and due to the liquid the chilaquiles were super soggy. The sauce is only on the chicken, which is hidden by the egg. Overall I would have given 3 stars but my husband noticed on his credit charges that they added $100 as a tip. I'm not sure what happened as we left a good tip. I don't understand why they added an additional $100. We were so upset and never have had this happen to us. We tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. My husband sent an email and Yelp message to the business and got no response. I called to tell them about it but was never able to get through? Either way, I would not return. read more

I've been to BR several times and always enjoyed it. On Sunday it was not the best. We had a reservation. The four of us had been seated and given menus and then were asked to move to another table as they had a larger group coming. We all ordered Bloody Marys and received no olive garnishment spear as we had in past. One of our friends received 1/2 a piece of bacon. Batter Rebellion is located in downtown Redlands at the corner of Orange and E Citrus. Street parking is limited but there is an unpaid parking garage across the street. Inside you'll find a modern, punk rock vibe with vibrant decor and texturized walls. The space includes tall tables, short tables, bar top and a roll up garage door window that opens up to the streets of Redlands for a nice breeze. Batter Rebellion opened right during the pandemic so I commend them for staying on their feet during that hard time and serving their community. They've done a really great job with the decor and food! They have lots of options here for entertainment from trivia to karaoke ! They also have all of the football games and I've seen them partner with third party services like paint and sips ! Follow them on instagram to keep up with their monthly entertainment. They also offer brunch 7 days a week open to close ! This is my favorite thing about batter rebellion since I don't have Sundays off from work... I can come here on a Tuesday and it makes me feel like I'm enjoying a Sunday again ! For the food I tried the fowl mouth, triple berry waffles, kiss my hass, Blacksheep burger and the fried ice cream. Nothing here was lacking in flavor !!! The fowl mouth was salty and sweet / the Blacksheep burger was covered in bacon jam and won my heart ! I also tried the mimosa flight (love that they offer this)! As well as the basic b****, holy water, talk to the pom and old fashioned. Their drinks are FRESH. I don't want to come to a restaurant and order a drink that is just bottled syrups and juices. You won't find that here ! The basic b**** was my favorite ! Pretty look at and refreshing! It's definitely become a staple restaurant for me in Redlands. I was pleasantly surprised with the ambiance, food and drink selection Batter Rebellion had to offer. I came in on a Wednesday around 6pm and was welcomed with some soothing live music. I was seated by the window facing the street. They had a pretty big space to seat a small group of friends or a solo seat at the bar. I'm not sure if it was the 100 degree weather outside or if their building wasn't getting good air circulation, but it was a bit humid in there. My friend ordered their Talk to the Pom cocktail with pomegranate and said it was the perfect refreshment. Their Lord of the Fries with lemon garlic was a little too citrusy for my liking but paired with their dips made them perfect. I've also never had poke served on top of chips before but it was a nice combo. The Bite Me pretzel bites were underwhelming and could use better dip selections as well. I'd love to come back to try one of their cocktails and a few more of their kitchen selections. Overall, great place to stop by for a refreshing drink and some finger foods. read more

They don't open super early for breakfast so you're really looking at brunch, and while the menu options are limited, just about anything you get will be delicious. I particularly enjoy the short rib hash in the morning. We also go there for happy hour quite often. They have a pretty good happy hour menu for food, and their rotating taps as well as cocktails. They had significantly rotated and souped up their cocktail menu over the last two years. They are kid friendly. They are pet friendly if you were sitting and they're outside "patio " which is actually located within the center part of the building. read more

The service was really kind and welcoming, the vibe was modern punk, it was really cool we liked it. For drinks we got an iced coffee with baileys and my husband got the forbidden fruit, i believe it was called, he loved it X3 lol For food we started with the buffalo wings which were really good, the crunch to them made them that much better! My husband got the Bullseye, steak, eggs with potatoes and toast.The steak was cooked perfectly and had great flavor, the sourdough toast was delicious. My friends and I came in on Friday night for the first time and had the pleasure of being helped by Madalyn. She was so quick and perceptive! We weren't too familiar with this place and she was super knowledgeable on things that are a cant miss on the menu! We had ordered the Mimosa flight which is a 10/10 need to get. We also ordered the fowl mouth, the french toast and the kiss my hass that were both were amazingly flavored on top of beautiful plating they had. Came here on a weeknight for Happy Hour and was disappointed. Ordered the poke nachos, Lil Fowl Mouth (chicken and waffles), and Fun-Guys (tempura mushroom). The chicken and waffles were subpar - the chicken tenders were over cooked and waffles were not crispy at all. Other photos of the same dish seem to show there was supposed to be an additional sauce drizzle, but ours only came with maple syrup. For the poke nachos, the ratio of fish, topping, and chip was totally off and seems to be missing sauce. Quite frankly, the poke nachos from Yard House are so much better. The mushrooms were weird - there was so much moisture that wasn't cooked out from the mushroom that it seeped through the fry batter. Service was incredibly slow and difficult to flag down our server. Ambiance was modern and hip. I like that HH is all-day on Tuesday's through Thursday's, and the concept of everything being fried or battered is intriguing, but I would not return. read more

But the rice really did not taste good itself. -VEG OUT PASTA: The pasta was INTENSEEEEE. When I say the first bite of the pasta was packed with the most flavor, I mean it. The closest description I can give this dish is a pasta-style elote. It's really good!!! Highly recommend this dish for people with a savory tongue. It is on the saltier side, so as you eat it, it may get a little overwhelming. I would rate this dish 7.5/10. -BLACK SHEEP: I don't have too much to say about this burger besides, NICE. If you do not know what to choose on the menu, pick this! Great tasting and good portions. Unique flavors and overall satisfying burger. Service: The servers were really nice, but it took them a while to serve us. We were ready and waited for about another 10-15 minutes before someone came to us. And the restaurant was not busy at all! Ambiance: It is a nice place with good aesthetics. There is plenty of seatings and a tv for sports games. If you are lucky and get a chance to sit in the booth near the back, it is really pretty. There is a nice photo opportunity for a group of people. LD;DR: Overall, decent food. Please change your chilaquiles. I understand that it's a spin on a traditional dish but there needs to be at least a fresh fried tortilla. By the time your dish arrives the store bought tostadas turn into mush. At least serve the tostadas on the side if you want to cut corners and not fry your tortillas. The waffles were good, not a crispy waffle but the flavors were interesting and different. Definitely more of a cornbread-like waffle so it had a softer grainy texture. The fried chicken was good though definitely the main star of the dish. Also, the flight mimosa was below average, no flavors besides the champagne. It was like a packed punch in every mason jar. Also, it was a little interesting to come by the table and take two empty jars from our flight. Maybe order more, it was a little rude but understandable. Overall, the place was interesting in terms of ambiance and it was packed so clearly they're doing something right. The service was friendly so we appreciate that. Clearly there was passion from the guy that walked us to our table so it's nice seeing the dedication to the restaurant. Would we try this place again?
