Wow what a find! My husband and I had a night without our toddler son and wanted to find a place in Downtown Redlands to have dinner. We stumbled upon a new restaurant that opened called Batter Rebellion and we were not disappointed! They offer outdoor seating with hand sanitizer at each table, which is really nice. They take social distancing very seriously and all staff are wearing masks. We ordered from the menu through a QR code on the table which was very easy to do and very sanitary. I ordered the Chicken Crossed the Road and my husband ordered the Obscene Poutine. The poutine was pretty good, a little salty but the sauce they used was delicious and so were the peppers! Good take on a classic. What really was an insanely good dish was the Chicken Crossed the Road. It was a HUGE sandwich that wasn't lacking on anything, especially flavor! The chicken was cooked perfectly, and was complimented with a sweet and tangy sauce. It also had coleslaw and a fried egg stuffed in between a giant brioche bun. It was pure HEAVEN! I'm coming back just for the sandwich, it was honestly one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever eaten. They have well exceeded my expectations. I ate at Batter Rebellion for the second time a few days ago. While it is hot sometimes in Redlands, the outdoor seating here is pretty comfortable. They have tables spaced apart and a large fan circulating the air. I was so happy to be able to sit down and eat my dinner fresh and not have it get soggy on the drive home! I had a salad and it was on point but beware that their salad dressing goes a long way which is great for those of us watching what we eat. They serve the dressing on the side, so you can control it. I can't wait until things open up more and the full menu is available because the deviled egg trio appetizer I had with friends on a previous visit was amazing! read more

I literally do not have one negative thing to say about this place. If that's what your looking for, move along. I've been in a few times and I've honestly never been disappointed. I've messaged their IG to make reservations and ask questions and I've always received a prompt response. Whoever they have running their page seems to be very personable. I love that it isn't a huge franchise with a huge chain of command, just a real place with real people. Anyway, the place has a cool little vibe--eccentric decor, good music selection and a huge bar. I've never had to wait to be seated and the food comes out pretty quickly. Servers have always been friendly and accommodating. The french toast and mimosa flight are my personal favorites. I typically come in with my boys (total foodies) and they always manage to scarf down their plates before I even get the opportunity to pick at them. That right there should be more than enough of a reason to stop by. With that said, I also love that this place is family owned. Small businesses like this were really hit hard with Covid and I love that this place managed to stay open and stand behind what they believe in. With so many dinning options in DTR somehow I keep making it back here. Food is good. But their service is horrible. This is the second time I have had the same issue here. They have us wait longer than intended with plenty of open tables. It's not covid related because when they finally seat us after waiting for an hour with no one leaving it's still in the same table we saw open the whole time. Then when we are finally seated it takes our server forever to even come over to us. I think this is the last time I will be coming here. At least until they fix their service issue. read more
