Called yesterday to place an order for my birthday cake for pickup today at 12:00. I explained what I was looking for to the girl over the phone. I show up today and they didn't have my cake ready. They forgot about my order and had me waiting 15 minutes and they seemed confused. When I get home and see my cake, I see the size of it. This was $26 for this small cake. The pictures don't do it justice, it's way smaller in person. Who is this supposed to feed? For the service and the price, I'm out and will never be back!!

Great amount of selection - Single slices, cookies, donuts, other pastries. Grabbed a slice of carrot cake, rainbow cookies and a themed sugar cookie. The carrot cake has pineapples, which I love. The rainbow cookies with raspberry are delicious too. Quick, kind, service.

I ordered a birthday cake for my 1 year old's birthday party from Batter Up. I did everything via email and it was smooth and pleasant. I needed a cake that served 25-30 guests and I was recommended a 12" cake. The cake was huge!!! Probably could have done with a smaller size but the cake was so so so good. I got the vanilla cake with fudge filling and EVERYONE at the party was raving about how delicious it was and how awesome it looked. It was a Super Mario themed cake and it was everything I was looking for!

I ordered a birthday cake here for my fiance's birthday lunch at The Capital Grille. Batter Up Bakery actually delivered the cake to the restaurant, which I think is phenomenal customer service. The cake? Light, moist ... It's like the birthday cake of your dreams. It was made exactly to my specifications, even down to the beautiful orange and blue decoration I requested as a nod to my man's love of The New York Mets. Batter Up Bakery's excellent dessert and great service made a great birthday celebration even better.

This cake is supposed to be dairy-free and chocolate free

I ordered a dairy free chocolate-free cake for an occasion. They said they can make it the same day. When we opened the cake to eat it it had chocolate. My son who is highly allergic to chocolate was not able to eat it. I called the bakery and sent them the picture and they told me to eat around it. This was very disheartening.

So excited to try Batter up! Sadly won't be back- same issue as others- they keep old baked goods and pastries. I've never spit out a doughnut before today. It was a first. Pumpkin doughnut - stale and almost couldn't even break it apart. One and definitely done.

Ha! Went again to Batter Up Bakery. I ordered again, fresh made egg Clair's with whipped cream. I patiently waited as the girl at the counter ask another to get them whilst she finished taking care of another customer. I opened them before leaving the parking lot. Low and behold, they were custards . I went back in got the understandable Sorry, waited some more and got what I ordered. Can't make this stuff up. 4 stars, still- their eggclairs are fresh and tasty.

I'd heard that this bakery was voted Long Island's best, so I was excited to give it a try. Before heading over, I called to ask if they had Boston cream and jelly donuts available, and was told they did. However, when we arrived just a few minutes later, we were informed that they were baking a batch. It took about 10 minutes. The bakery itself is quite small with no seating, aside from a table for DoorDash pickups. I also noticed a tiny printout of the menu, which I missed at first, as I was expecting something more visible like a wall menu. Another thing that stood out was the lack of labels on the desserts, so it was a bit hard to know what everything was. There were also some pies (possibly meringue) on a shelf without any covers, which made me a little uncomfortable. On the plus side, the donuts are generously sized and packed with filling. If you like your donuts oozing with filling, this is the place for you! However, I was a bit disappointed with the taste. The filling in both the Boston cream and the jelly donut didn't quite hit the mark. The Boston cream filling had an odd flavor that I couldn't quite place--maybe it was too "eggy," or something else, but it didn't taste as expected. The jelly filling was similarly off, so much so that I couldn't finish it and ended up scraping out the excess. While they've earned the title of Long Island's best, I'd say your experience may vary!

A small bakery with displays loaded with delicious treats. They have lots to choose from...donuts, cookies, pies, cakes, etc. I was looking for Boston cream donuts, but didn't see them, I'm glad I asked, because they were in the back. They are quite massive loaded with lovely, cream that is not too sweet. The donut itself is light and pillowy and the chocolate ganache on top is heavenly. I also tried the black & white cookie, it was an excellent version; spongy with just the right sweetness from the icings. I was happy with my items and looking forward to try more.

Yummy boston cream donuts!! Also try their jelly donut/sandwich

I had heard very good things about their Boston cream donuts so when we were heading over a friends' place to watch some football, we picked up a couple of those donuts and a lemon meringue pie for dessert. Walking in, I was expecting a baseball theme to the bakery but there is none I could see so not sure if there is any double meaning of its name. The women behind the counter were very friendly and helpful. As for their goods: DONUTS - The boston cream was very good. It is not as sweet as others such as DD and creamier, and the dough itself was soft and pillowy. So it was a hit. I forgot to take a picture but we also got a jelly donut as well, which I also recommend. Instead of piping in the jelly, they cut a powdered donut in half and spread jelly in the middle; so more like a jelly sandwich. This was very good as well. I think I saw a similar chocolate frosted donut cut and spread with cream in middle. Will have to come back for that. PIE - Not as happy with the pie. There was way too much lemon filling inside, which may sound like it should be good but the filling had a lot of artificial tasting sweetener, which made it a little sickly sweet. The crust was a pie crust whereas we like a graham crust for lemon pies. The meringue was beautifully done though. All in all, will be back for donuts but probably not the pies although may try some of their others before making final judgement.

During our first visit on a Monday afternoon, the store was fairly busy. When we reached the checkout, the cashier offered no greeting, no communication, and rushed our order through the register. What surprised us most was that there was no assistance with bagging our groceries. Having worked in the supermarket industry myself, I found the lack of customer service and basic courtesy disappointing. We left the store confused about whether customers are expected to bag all of their own groceries, as no one explained the process. Because of that first experience, we assumed this was store policy and were prepared to bag everything ourselves during our second visit. This time, the cashier was somewhat friendlier and at least greeted us, but the checkout process felt very rushed. We had 43 items and were actively bagging our groceries while my wife completed payment. Before we had finished organizing and bagging our purchase, another customer was directed to the checkout lane behind us and began moving our items aside to make room. The customer appeared frustrated, and the situation made us feel rushed and uncomfortable. Once again, there was no assistance from the cashier and no explanation of how customers are expected to manage bagging while the next order is already being processed. What made the experience even more frustrating was observing several employees elsewhere in the store appearing to have free time while customers at the front end were struggling to keep up with the checkout process. If the store's policy is for customers to bag their own groceries, that should be clearly communicated. If it is not the policy, then additional assistance at checkout would greatly improve the customer experience. We understand that retail is challenging and that stores must operate efficiently. However, customer service, communication, and courtesy still matter. Based on our first two visits, the checkout experience felt impersonal, rushed, and unnecessarily stressful. We hope management will review the front-end operation and consider ways to make the checkout process more welcoming and customer-friendly for both new and returning customers.
