These people are amazing! Earlier this morning my battery went unexpectedly dead. My car is a 2016 so it was a real bummer. I called and they said it was likely a lemon of a battery. I was car-less so I strapped my car battery to my bike and headed in there. They offered to test my battery for free before being out the money. I was already late to work and thinking out loud how I would get back home then to work then back to pick up my possibly still dead battery. These guys offered me a LOANER battery to get me to work! They even helped load it on my bike :). I installed the loaner, got to work, and came back to purchase a new battery. (Mine was dead after charging and testing) They were all so nice and helpful. I would recommend them to anyone in a pickle needing a new car battery! read more

Terrible service. Cannot be trusted. On 6/30/2020, I brought my iPhone 8 into the Batteries Plus Bulbs store on SE 82nd St in Portland, Oregon to have the battery replaced. The replacement battery did not work so they gave me another one. That one did not work either. I asked for a refund of the $79.99 I paid and James, the store manager, said he would take care of it. He did not. In fact, I complained to James in person and over the phone three times over the next 2 months or so about not getting my refund. He kept promising but I never got my refund. When the local Apple store reopened, I found out that Batteries Plus Bulbs is not an authorized repair service for iPhones even though they advertise as if they were. I also found out that if an iPhone is worked on by BPB, Apple will refuse to service the phone thereafter. So basically, BPB destroyed my $800+ phone and refused to anything about it. James won't even return my phone calls anymore. read more

Batteries plus bate and switch. Wife paid to have phone battery replaced. Try to bait and switch at the counter saying it would be more than the 99 they quoted. She got the manger involved and got them to honor the original price. Fast forward 3 mo the battery is dead. Goto replace the battery and the camera lens and find that hey haven't even broken the seal on the oem battery! Go back down to talk to them about the warranty and request a new battery. Jeff at the counter says we opened the phone and voided their warranty. I explain to him that I know how to use a heat gun and that I'm just replacing the battery anyway and all I want is the battery they owe me. Says only the manager can authorize but he isn't in till Monday. I tell him to call someone. Get stone walled, ask to buy another battery but now they can't just sell me a battery even though they are clearly marked behind the counter, citing I've voided the warranty. The phone doesn't have a warranty it's 2 years old. I explain to him I don't care about their cracker jack box warranty and just want a new battery. (which I'm offering to buy) get told only the manger can sell me a battery. So the lesson to be learned here is they have 0 customer service, don't honor their warranty and then won't sell you a battery without an install. Isn't batteries plus bulbs in your store name? Worst customer service experience I've ever had, clearly don't understand how to communicate. Researched RV batteries and found Duracell sold through BPB. Previous reviews all solid so decided to take the plunge. Ordered online and picked up at store, received 10% discount on already lower price than T-105's. Upon arrival at store, found the batteries were already set aside for me, very quick service, and they carted the new batteries to my car and carted my cores back inside. I recommend this store as each interaction I have had with the staff has proved helpful and professional. I called for an iPhone screen fix and battery change. Not only was I directed to book through the web for a $10 discount, but since the phone was going to be opened up anyway, the battery install was discounted by $30. They also accommodated my request to install a back screen on a white phone since the black screen was the only one available and I wanted my phone asap. I love my car clicker. I run a million errands a day and being able to carry three bags of groceries and still open my trunk with my thumb as I walk towards the car just makes my life a little easier. When the battery died in my clicker, the whole feng shui of my life just tilted. My car can only be unlocked on the driver's side, so just trying to place my parking meter receipt in the passenger window and then lock the car just made me cranky. I tried to replace the battery myself because how hard could it be? After struggling to open the case and almost breaking it, I understand why the car companies charge over $200 to replace the fob -- because they can! I went to Batteries Plus to see what they could do and they were amazing! Not only did they get the pesky clicker case open, they superglued the little piece I had broken off in my amateurish attempts to do it myself. New battery in, tested, and it was so inexpensive. Plus, they were just really nice people. I was so happy to have my clicker back that I told others and one of my clients went in a few days later after I did and is now clicking her locks joyfully! Went in to get my iPhone battery replaced after finding online sales and coupons. The store didn't automatically charge the sale price, but the guy that helped me looked it up to confirm the discounts and gave them to me no problem. The three guys that were working while I was there were all very nice and polite, not pushy or anything. It was done in less than an hour and my phone battery has been working perfectly since. read more

Today was my fourth visit to this store on 82nd Avenue and I am pleased that once again, I received excellent service. Every time I have been in this store the staff has been friendly and extremely helpful. Their prices are competitive and they also offer services like changing your watch batteries and recycling old batteries and light bulbs. Love that! read more

So as far as I am concerned, our first ever experience with Batteries Plus on 82nd will be our last! Me and My Fiancee went in in hops that she would be able to get a new battery for her Motorola Razor phone (It was a internal battery type). We went in and the gentleman was very quick and responsive on helping us with finding if they could fix it, they had it in stock and were also able to fix it for a fee of $20 (plus $39.99 for the battery itself). We waited about 25 minutes while he "fixed" the battery and worked on it. If your waiting that long, bring your own chair, no accomodations of any sort while you wait, that wasnt a biggy whatsoever! In the paperwork process of it all, he states "If the battery that is put in while being repaired by them does not work or malfunctions, they will replace your phone with a refurbished one blah blah. We felt satisfied upon leaving there that day and the phone seemed to work for that period of 12 hours. The next day, my fiancee informed me after work and her having it off all day, being that she as working, that her phone wouldn't turn on at all! I tried a few times, and it would not turn on. Okay, so she called, and explained to the "tech" what was happening and they informed her to come in again but the next day cause in his words "the tech just went home for the day, but that she could leave her phone there for the night and they will take a look at it first thing in the morning. When she went back the next day, they explained to her that they were using a smaller battery in the phone and the connection disconnected (go figure since its not the same size as the size it should be). They again, "fixed" it and she went on her way. The very next day as she got off of work and turned her phone on, it wouldn't turn on again, at all. Now that the frustration had kicked in, she called again, annoyed of course and was told on the phone that she would need to get there before 5 cause that is when the tech goes home. Now, her 3rd time back there, she got there after 5 having just got off of work and fighting through rush hour traffic, finally reaching there, one of the techs stated "I asked if you could get here by 5"???? REALLY????? As she walks in for her 3rd time there!!! Finally, they stated there was nothing they could do and she demanded her refund, which they obliged! All in all, experience; no good, and the inconvenience of it all was terrible!!! I'm not saying they needed to make her phone magically brand new with there services, but when they said they could service it and fix it and for 59.99, we didn't expect them to fix it wrong and sloppy. Won't be returning, and wouldn't suggest having a cell phone fixed through them! read more

I came here looking for a specific battery for my car remote. I called ahead and asked if they had the battery, and they said they did so I went to go grab one so I could switch it out. I get there, they don't have the same battery type I need. A guy asks if I need help and I tell him I need to replace the battery for the remote. He asks to see the remote to see what battery, I give it to him and tell him which one it is supposed to be. He says he has to open it to check and I give him the okay, and ask if he can check the charge on the old one to make sure it is dead before replacing it with a new one. He checks, says it is dead [I saw there was still a charge on the battery], then opens a new battery and puts it in and closes the remote. He then checks it to see if it works by using some sensor, says it's fine, and charges me $8. After I leave, I look at the receipt and see he put in a 2016 instead of the 2012 I asked for and he charged me an extra $3.50 just to open the remote and put the battery in. I go back inside and ask him about it and he gives some excuse that I had to be the one to open the battery package in order for him to not charge me the extra "installation" fee. So basically I drove out of my way to have $8 taken from me and then I was given some B.S. excuse for why he charged me so much, when the guy didn't even tell me he was going to charge me. I had my shattered iphone 7 screen replaced by Batteries Plus. When I got it back the light was very dimmed and the colors had a drastic bluish green hue. Even with the light turned all the way up, I had to squint to see and the blue green colors made me physically nauseous. I took it back only to learn that they had used an aftermarket screen. They said they had gotten a shipment of these other screens and had been having problems with them. They apologized and replaced the weird screen with an apple screen within an hour. The phone worked great. Fast forward 6 months, I shatter my screen again! I called to see if they had time to replace the screen today and the gentleman on the phone was very friendly and seemingly honest with his answers to my questions. I told him about my previous experience and asked if they could make sure to put an apple screen on again this time. He said they use aftermarket screens but could special order an apple screen and replace mine for around $200 (Apple charges $149). I asked him questions about the quality of colors with the aftermarket screens and he said if you put them side by side with an iphone you would definitely see a difference. He compared it to when you go to BestBuy and the TVs on the wall all have a different color. I gave him several opportunities to convince me that the screen they'd use would be an acceptable replacement with accurate colors but he couldn't. Instead, I am taking it to Simply Mac to get an apple certified screen replacement for $50 less. read more
