I also appreciated his commitment to lifelong learning, being excited to work on a problem he hadn't seen before, which turned out to be a physically melted wire on the hard drive itself that was probably caused by a dust particle shorting it out. I don't think other computer repair places could have diagnosed and fixed my issue as quickly, and would have probably just given me the "you're better off just buying a new computer" line. For the amount of additional painstaking work of saving some of my files the total bill was very reasonable. My only regret that time was buying the additional RAM space he offered to put in while the computer was disassembled, which as far as I have noticed has only speeded up the boot up. If you already are pretty happy with your computer speed then save 60 bucks and skip this option. Two weeks later an internal cable gave out.
