I have moth holes in my 3 cashmere/wool sweaters after picking them up from this facility. Employer has been trying to convince me that I have an issue in my apartment. But I live in luxury building that is only 10 yo and it's never been an issue however I have forced my landlord to get a professional exterminator in order to get the report that there's no activity been detected. Even after this the owner have refused taking the responsibility for the damage or run the moth inspection of the facility . This items never been anywhere outside of my apartment and been accepted by the employer with out any statements of damage so to me it's no brainer that the damage been caused in the facility somehow. I'm considering taking this matter further unless I get proper compensation meanwhile please be aware of possible risk ofdropping your items here. read more

Incredibly disrespectful and rude customer service. There was an issue with one of my alterations and I was overcharged- the lady working Teresa started yelling and screaming at me when I was kindly trying to inquire what happened and work out the miscommunication. she kept interrupting me when I was trying to speak with her and explain my understanding. Ultimately I asked if she can speak with the tailor and I can come back and maybe talk to him or the owner - she got so mad at me and wouldn't give me my other items I wanted to pick and pay for. read more

I received 11 articles of expensive clothing with my name on them over two separate deliveries on two different days. None of these items were mine. I sent back all the clothing intact. Still, they charged my credit card for the cost of dry cleaning 7 of these items. When I called to ask them to remove the erroneous charge, they denied charging me for someone else's dry cleaning, they did not apologize for charging me, and they did not bother to apologize for sending me someone else's dry cleaning twice. I feel bad for whoever was missing these items because I am sure it must have been a headache. Hopefully the customer(s) will be contacted by Battery Park Cleaners to pick up their clothing. Contrary to other reviews, I do not think the customer service here is warm. They are either neutral or unfriendly. I have spoken with them in person and on the phone. They never seem to take responsibility for their mistakes. They also overcharge for minor tailoring. They quoted $20 for fixing a small rip in pants when another cleaner quoted $5 so I went with the other cleaner - M&M Excellent Cleaner in Midtown. (For the record, M&M Excellent Cleaner lives up to its name. The employees at M&M Excellent Cleaner are so polite, too, which I appreciate.) I also lose items of clothing regularly at Battery Park Cleaners. The item I notice that I lose in their wash most often is socks. I go out and buy running socks and then I lose them in their wash. I have several socks that no longer have their twin sock because they were lost in the wash here. I do not trust Battery Park Cleaners anymore. One hopes everyone would return what is not theirs, but I have no idea if that is the case. Regardless, Battery Park Cleaners should not be delivering expensive dry cleaned clothing to the wrong customers! This is a total breach of their primary responsibility. On the plus side, their delivery personnel work really hard and deliver on time and the clothing I send to Battery Park Cleaners is indeed clean upon return. I will consider editing this review if they decide to make any changes to their business practices as a result of this review. Hopefully this will help inspire them to improve their services. I think it is a serious problem when the dry cleaning of hundreds of dollars of someone else's clothing ends up being charged to me and the clothing ends up in my hands because of the messy incompetence of the business at fault - and without the business taking any ownership of responsibility! I hate to leave 1-star reviews but they need to improve for the sake of everyone in the community who trusts them with their clothing. The staff here is so beyond rude and entitled it's comical and they have 0 idea how to run a business. THIS PLACE IS BEYONG UNPROFESSIONAL & ARRW THEIFS !!!!!!!!!! they turned my white Dior shirt YELLOW ! and despite that i kept my loyalty and returned until they tried to rob me blindly !! i had altered a bikini and he wanted $20 but was able to do it for $8 if he "used a different thread" which is the same but regardless ok i paid $8 and was happy. i now retuned to have the exact same thing done to another 5 bikinis & he saw i paid $8 last time and said he will have to call me the next day with a price, so the son called me and had the audacity to argue with me and tell me its a different job to do than the first 1 that was done SO IT WILL BE $20 PER , when in fact 100% was the same identical job as previously done and mind you i had all the bikini pieces pinned on where it should be altered so it was a quick cut and sew on a 1 inch seem. To be spiteful because i told him i would pick up my goods and go elsewhere since he if literally trying the rob me for a measly $12 per item, he took all MY pins off which marked where it needs to be altered just to make it a hustle for me going to the next person. by the way the other location up the block initially charges $8 for the same exact thing. & are much nicer and are quicker. read more

Terrible. Just terrible. They manage to lose at least 2 items every single time I drop anything off with them. They lost $250 worth of clothing a few months ago, but I stuck with them as options are obviously limited down here. Then today they lost over a thousand dollars in dry cleaning. Rude staff. Fairly well run operation with pricing that is slightly high even for NYC. They generally do a good job, but the last 3 times I've gotten my laundry back I've found an item or 2 of someone else's laundry. I've now started to notice that a few of my items have disappeared over that time period as well! This can happen sometime with all fluff & fold services, but is especially bad at BPC. Overall good, but don't send anything you're afraid of losing. read more

When they get it right, it's good. There are major issues, however. 1. I'm willing to bet all the good reviews re friendly service apply to people who enter this facility on weekends, if at all, especially given the business does pickup and delivery in a way where you don't actually interact with them. 2. The man who works the counter on weekends is really friendly and accommodating. That's the reason for the two stars. The woman who works there during the week is a deal killer for me. Sure, she's friendly as long as you don't have any complaints. The second you tell her they shrunk one or more of your dry clean garments, she immediately goes on the defensive, instead of trying to find a way to help and apologizing. And you can forget about being reimbursed for the disaster, let alone being compensated for the cost of your garment. 3. They occasionally make mistakes on deliveries and while that's ok, what isn't is how they deal with it. A) they charge you for cleaning someone else's clothes and refuse to reimburse you. B) when i receive dry cleaning, I have a routine. I tear off all the plastic and then organize my closet with the clean clothes. I discovered some where not mine. Our porter was kind enough to return them to the establishment. Well the same "weekday lady" was a complete ass to him. Instead of saying "thank you for returning these and apologies for the inconvenience", she said "why did you tear off the protective plastic when it wasn't yours"? Wow! 4. Don't try their wash and fold, unless you really don't care about your garments. The "wash and fold" is more like "wash and crumble". Holy cow! It's like they wash you clothes, let it dry in the dryer, leave it in there over night and then fold it, sort of. I can't wrinkle my clothes this much, even after wearing them. Just a crumpled up mess. 5. You have to tell them how you want your clothes cleaned. They use no common sense, whatsoever. If your suit slacks ends up in your wash bag, well then your slacks will be laundered, not dry cleaned. Other places will accept all you clothes in one bag and separate based on what makes sense. If this were my own establishment, I'd do some more training of staff and fire that awful lady, on the spot. read more

I was amazed by the way these guys went the extra mile--I had a flight to catch the next day, and so they somehow managed to get my laundry back to me by closing time, even though I had already missed the cut off for same-day service. I've been coming here for about 2 years. Not only is it incredibly convenient with their pickup/delivery within (usually) 2 days, they've always done a great job. They have been so accommodating when I need something done quickly and don't overcharge for it. Recently, I needed a shirt pressed and pants altered; I dropped it off about 30 minutes before closing and was able to get it first thing in the morning. If the seamstress was still there, I would've gotten it that day because I've done that before. Most cleaners would charge an outrageous fee or just say no but they didn't take advantage of me. I took in a skirt to be hemmed. When it was returned, the workmanship was shoddy and the hem was uneven. When I went to complain the manager told me that the tailor had hemmed it a I asked. I asked for a refund and was denied. $40 is too much for a hem, even if done well, but the skirt is now unwearable and the manager refused to help in any way, he just kept telling me they had done what I asked (obviously not true). $3,500 OF LOST CLOTHING. These people should look up the Dunning-Kruger effect. Basically, it is a theory that says that incompetent people have no idea that they are incompetent. You ever meet someone really, really dumb but yet somehow incredibly confident in their skills? Yeah. That is Battery Park Cleaners. They picked-up 2 bags from my doorman, and only returned about half of my items. They lost all of my bedsheets and numerous items of clothing. Then, they tried to blame it on me by saying, "Yes, we picked up 2 bags, but you cannot prove what was in them!" Somehow, after threatening a lawsuit, they miraculously "found" them. Apparently, someone had taken some of my items out of a bag, forgot to tag them, and then left them in a corner to die. So, after 17 calls, I finally received back most of my items. Well, except for my irreplaceable vintage leather jacket that they swore they already delivered. After asking my super to pull the camera footage across three days, in which they never dropped off anything, they finally began to believe that I was not lying and that no, they had not, in fact, already delivered it. What they had delivered was someone else's jacket in my building that they thought was mine (because apparently computers do not exist). My jacket had just been sitting in the store for two weeks, alone and forgotten. After they finally returned it to me they had the audacity to ask if I would still come back as customer!
