The shining star of this restaurant was our waitress - I'd give her 5 stars for being so outgoing, bubbly, and friendly. The food was good - not great - I would say anywhere from 3 - 4 stars. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan Sandwich with homemade marinara and pesto sauce. The bread was very fresh tasting, the chicken was moist but not soggy, and the balance of the sauces was good. On the down side, the chips seemed like ordinary Lays - nothing special and they didn't have fountain sodas which I found a little strange for a sit-down restaurant/bar. My mom had their Blue Cheese Burger (cooked well). Her opinion was that it was just OK. The patty was very thick (great for some people, not so great for others especially if you don't like pink in your burger). The meat was a little on the dry side, but in all fairness she did order it well done. The décor was simple but neat and seemed to fit the downtown feel. Horrible service in a small town kills businesses. Rude to my family on my mothers birthday dinner. We tried to come here and there was plenty of space for 5 of us, the large chubby woman refused to seat us and told us to just sit at the bar. We will never come back. read more

Stopped in Friday early afternoon for a light meal and a micro brew. No surprise the place was happening! I lucked out and got a seat at the bar. Enjoying great conversation and a bowl of clam chowder I couldn't ignore the delicious smell of prime rib roasting from the kitchen. I decided to stay for dinner and was not disappointed. The key lime pie is THE BEST I've ever tasted. Not only do we order a slice every time we come here but it's becoming a bit of a habit to purchase an entire pie to go. It's a great relaxed atmosphere with solid lunch offerings (we've never been for dinner). Our dishes have been enjoyed by all at our table. Sometimes the wait for food seems far too long based on the simplicity of our order but that's probably my only complaint. Great stop on our visits to Sandpoint and don't skip the key lime pie. What a great place in Sandpoint! A beautiful old building with exposed brick, but that's only the beginning! Great food for lunch; the sandwiches and salads sound like what you'd expect, but the salad dressings are surprising as is the other dishes like cioppino. That's what we chose and it was awesome! For dessert we tried the house made key lime pie with a REAL GRAHAM CRACKER crust and candied lime zest....WOW CAN I GET A PINT OT THAT TO GO? Dinner looks amazing too with steaks and even a roast 1/2 duck. The sides are appropriate and the prices are better than you'd expect in a resort town. They just started offering a Sunday Brunch that looks great with yummy things like Pork Belly gravy over biscuits, Eggs Benedict and Waffles with Fried Chicken! We're going back tomorrow for sure! The bar is nice with local brews on tap and bottled beer too. The wine selections are good. Service is great and they go out of their way to give you a great dining experience. They also have a space for private dining that will be an overflow area as necessary. If you're in Sandpoint you shouldn't miss this gem. read more

I still have to give this place a decent star rating but I had a really bad experience here today. Could not get our waitress' attention to save my life. Waved at her three times had my plate setting at the edge of my table watching my wife eat her meal. When she was finally half done I got the bartender/managers attention and he fixed it all. The BEST restaurant I've eaten at Sandpoint by far. Excellent customer service , my family were greeted the moment we walked in. Our waitress was friendly and we all felt very welcomed. The majority of us us got the crab cakes ; DELICIOUS. The crab cakes were a good size , thick and juicy. We also got the pork, SUPER TENDER. The four of us finished every single bite on our plates. We were first timers so it might have just been the night we went, but when we first walked in to be seated in the restaurant, there was no air-conditioning and it was really hot in there which didn't make for a comfortable experience (we were all sweating the whole time). We had young kiddos with us who were really hungry so we thought we'd stick it out and try to eat quickly. We were seated right away which was great, but it took about 10 minutes to get waters and menus. Our orders took about 25 minutes to come out and when they did, the waitress accidentally brought our order to another table. The waitress was really kind and apologetic about it, but overall the food was bland and wasn't very fresh (wilted lettuce in our salad, steamed veggies with no seasoning, and overcooked meat), it seemed pretty expensive for what we received. read more

I stopped into this restaurant and was surrounded by locals and friendly attentive staff (usually a good sign). I wasn't disappointed, the food was amazing and the service was on-point. I started with two appetizers. The Brie, balsamic, pear and mint bruschetta was amazing. I then started in on the lobster roll. This small but exquisite little flavor bomb was as good as it gets outside of Maine! I wasn't quite full yet, so I ordered the Key Lime Pie the bartender suggested. OMG fantastic food! We were in town 4 yrs ago and it was fabulous then and it's still fabulous! It is so good we ended up eating here twice. First night we split the lobster chowder. My companion had the ribeye which was perfectly cooked and delicious. I had the shrimp/andouille sausage étouffée. It was absolutely out of this world! The étouffée sauce was to die for! Second night I had the grilled halibut with peach salsa served with asparagus and my companion had the bacon-blue burger. Both entrees were delightful! A small place with great atmosphere and wonderful food. Parking was difficult but mainly because there is construction in progress directly in front of the building. My wife and I ate a fantastic dinner of meatloaf and pesto pasta. We enjoyed the beer and wine. Our server was friendly and I would recommend this restaurant. We were a group of six on a Thursday evening. The food quality was all over the place. I had the very expensive pork chop, and it was good. My brother had a basic burger and it arrived cold and had been sitting so long the bun was soggy and the fries were old and cold. I asked and the server brought fresh fries, but brother wouldn't say anything about the burger. He was hungry and tired and just choked it down. Several of our dishes came with asparagus--the lower stalks were woody and mostly inedible, and the upper stalks were black and wilty. The service was slow and inattentive--the food took forever to arrive and the server did nothing to keep us informed until I finally caught her attention, after which the food magically started to appear. She never asked if our food was ok, nor offered another round of drinks, and they automatically added a 20% gratuity for a party of six. I find that really inappropriate; let the diners decide. The room was ultra loud, and overall it just wasn't a great experience. I would not return. read more

The reason I'm only giving 4 stars is b/c hubby ordered the peach cobbler (he's a sucker for fruit cobblers), and it was rather disappointing. Everything else about this place is authentic and lovely, but that dessert seemed like it was made with canned/cubed peaches and was very... generic/bland. We were walking around the town of Sand Point and we stumbled upon this place. I do not regret coming here! Although it took a while for us to get our food, (we did have 6 people), the food was delicious! The fries were on point and the sandwiches were awesome! I see others having great reviews, but unfortunately my experience was NOT good. The steamers appetizers were over cooked over lemon'd not enough garlic. My chicken plate had 4 thin slices of chicken over cooked, the rice was mushy... it was inedible.. :( The server agreed took it back and didn't charge me, but didn't offer to make it again. I wanted the fish but they said it never came in....!? It was Saturday night at 6:30? When we came in the owner did not want to give us his last table and wanted to have us wait until space opened at the bar...? We were dressed to the nines.... and ready to spend some money.
