Despite that, I was strongly encouraged by sales person who I have been working with for many years to apply through Honda Financial Services instead. He stated that I would get a better interest rate. I was told my car needed to be Honda Certified in order to move forward with that financing, which required nearly $2,000 worth of repairs. After more than eight hours at the dealership, I was finally told that the Honda Financial Services loan was 4% higher than the financing I had brought in with me. Since I ended up using my own financing after all, the certification and the nearly $2,000 I spent turned out to be completely unnecessary. The entire process felt unnecessarily drawn out, exhausting and manipulative. Spending more than eight hours at a dealership for a transaction that should have been straightforward is unacceptable. I also did not have positive experiences with my salesperson despite working with him for many years. I simply did not feel I could trust him. One detail that stood out at the last visit was that his desk was elevated on risers so he sat towering over customers, which struck me as an odd, uncomfortable and comical dynamic. Finally, after the long day, I was taken into the back to a finance office to sign paperwork and was subjected to aggressive sales pitches for additional products and warranties. He used intimidation and scared tactics. The presentation made many of these add-ons feel mandatory rather than optional, creating an uncomfortable, high-pressure environment at a point when I was already mentally exhausted. I feel people who are not as adept as I am in car buying can be deceived into purchasing these add-ons. This review reflects only my personal experience, but after more than a decade of being a loyal customer, I left feeling misled and pressured rather than valued. There are many reputable dealerships where the buying process is transparent and respectful. If I were shopping again, I would look elsewhere. On the flipside my experience with Edwin at Honda Services for service and maintenance have always been great.

I drove from New Jersey to Bay Ridge Honda because I trusted this dealership and had purchased a Honda tire warranty. After checking in, I waited approximately **45 minutes** before being told the replacement tire wasn't in stock. While inventory shortages happen, everything that followed was entirely avoidable. My service advisor told me he would: * Obtain warranty authorization that Friday. * Call me Friday with an update. * Call me Monday regarding the repair. None of those calls ever happened. From Friday afternoon until Monday afternoon, I received ZERO proactive communication. No update on the tire, the warranty, the repair status, or when my vehicle would be ready. On Monday, I had to call the dealership 5 separate times just to get an update. It wasn't until I requested to speak with a manager that I finally received a callback informing me my vehicle was ready. When I arrived to pick it up, it wasn't actually ready. My husband and I waited another two hours while the dealership processed the warranty paperwork. I was told they couldn't process the warranty until the repair was complete. If that's their process, why call customers to pick up their vehicles before the paperwork is finished? Throughout the experience, there was virtually no ownership, urgency, or empathy. No transportation assistance was offered after learning they didn't have the tire. No apology was ever given for the missed calls, the unnecessary delays, or the complete lack of communication. To make matters worse, I had to repeatedly request basic service documentation, and I never received the customary multi-point inspection report for my visit. I escalated the matter to American Honda and provided call logs, text messages, invoices, and receipts documenting everything that occurred. This review isn't about an inventory shortage. Those happen. It's about broken promises, poor communication, lack of accountability, and a customer service culture that left a long-time customer feeling like an inconvenience rather than someone whose business was valued. After nearly a decade of bringing my vehicle here, this experience permanently ended that relationship. If you're looking for a dealership that communicates proactively, respects your time, and takes ownership when things go wrong, I would strongly encourage you to look elsewhere.

Joel actually reached out the same day I sent the email, August 10. During that call, I asked him about the email I had sent to Jennifer. He said he would speak with her and get back to me. I am still waiting to hear from him regarding both the proposed trade and the tickets the dealership agreed to pay. At this point, I feel as though I am being ignored and given the runaround. I have an email confirming that a check was supposed to be issued for the tickets, but I have not received any receipts or written confirmation showing that the tickets were actually paid. This is a serious concern. If the tickets remain unpaid and my vehicle is booted or anything else happens because of them, there will be a much larger issue. If I do not receive proof that the tickets were paid, I may have to pursue the matter through legal channels. I have tried to handle this professionally and have kept written documentation of every communication. I am simply asking the dealership to provide proof that the promised ticket payments were completed and to respond to my proposal regarding the trade. The continued lack of communication only adds to an already exhausting experience.
