A few hours later, after the tow truck (different company) replaced my tire with my spare tire, I drove to these guys (by now, it was 3pm on a Saturday). I was greeted by the man who took my call, and he remembered the run-down on my situation. He made a call, determined that the new tire would cost me $110 (and would be delivered immediately by their vendor nearby) and asked me if I wanted to go with the option. They're incredibly nice here. Maybe not always the most organized group, but everyone here is genuine and care about what they do. I work on my own cars, but I take my Prius here because it's a pain in the ass to deal with. Prices are more than fair. Oil change is about $67 with synthetic. Stealership charges 120 if you have a coupon. I've had them repair a nail puncture in tire before also. Dropped in when they were swamped. Managed to get me in and out in 30 minutes with a patch. Only cost me $20 bucks I think. I would totally bring my cars here if I had any issues. If anything, only because they're fair and honest. Can't really say that about many other shops. Update: back again to do another change. They also helped me top off air in all tires, replaced a missing air valve cap, and topped off washer fluid. Thanks James! read more

I am so glad I discovered this place, thanks to yelp. I pass by it every day, but finally gave it a shot because I was in desperate need of an oil change. I called to see if there was an opening and the guy on the phone (I think it was randy) told me to just stop by. I left my car with them and took a walk and by the time I got back, it was already done. 20 minutes max. The mechanic mentioned that I needed my break pads replaced (had 10% left). I went back a few weeks later and had it replaced. This took several hours since they needed to order the part, but it needed to be done. I think this place is known for oil changes because every time I wait, multiple people pull in to ask for an oil change. Great mechanics and reasonable prices. read more

Couldn't have been more pleased with the service at Bayshore Auto. We called beforehand and confirmed that they could change the oil on a car that was well overdue. Lucky they said said yes! We pulled in and were greeted with a friendly "hi." They quoted us thirty minutes, asked for our # just in case and we happily walked to 7-11 to check out all the delicious treats for half an hour. A bag of maninera mozzarella chips and a bag of ranch Fritos later, we returned to a car that was road worthy again. The owner generously offered to check the oil whenever we needed it in the future. Been here a couple times in the past due to minor issues that I've run into with my car. My dad knows the people that work here because he comes here whenever he has problems with his car. They recognize me since I used to come here all the time with my dad so they're extremely nice and charge fairly. To repair/patch a tire and to mount on a new tire costed me only $36. That's way better than paying ~$100 for a new tire imo, especially if theres still life in it. Conveniently located near my house about 2 blocks away so I'll definitely be back for some services. Do I know when to change my car oil? Yes. When the sticker says so. Do I know why my car needs an oil change? No. Do I know what a timing belt is? No. Do I know where my car's air filter is? Maybe. Do I know how to pop open my car's hood? Kind of. Never actually opened it up wide. Given my lack of knowledge of anything car-related , I get ripped off a lot from auto mechanics (*cough* Honda Service Center). I got tired of overpaying for maintenance, especially for a car that wasn't new anyways so it isn't worth sometimes up to a thousand dollars to maintain. I'm so glad that my family introduced me to this place. The owner, Randy, is a really honest mechanic. He asked to see my car's maintenance records to make sure he didn't duplicate any services. It turned out my car had some oil leak and needed wires changed. The total cost to fix both of those was under $300, whereas at the dealership it would've been far more than that (and I would've had to sacrifice other things in order to pay for it). Keep in mind, though, that this place isn't fancy like the dealership service center so you won't have a lounge with a TV and vending machines to wait in. I want to big a BIG THANKS TO RANDY and his team of mechanics. I bought a used car from a dealer salesman and his co-worker top of the hill Daly City (check my other yelp reviews for the details so you never go there) and the they ran a scam on me by lying to me and telling this was new and that was new, like the brakes! Well day #2 I was @ Randy's shop and he fixed my Radiator damaged hosed so, fast and gave me a great deal. Then after driving all weekend I noticed the brakes were crying last Friday I took my car in and Randy had her ready with new back brakes by 5pm. He is considerate and efficient. He listens to your concerns and goes above and beyond to make you happy and help fix your car issues. After the dealership owner held my car car hostage 3 days this week and did no repairs. Customer service is great and I feel that they are very trustworthy. If I needed a simple fix. the charge was always reasonable. Randy will make suggestions but never does a hard sell. This place rocks!! I had a burned-out low beam headlamp that needed to be replaced and went to all sorts of mechanics and shops like WheelWorks. No one had the time to help me change this headlamp. I bought a headlamp wanting to change it myself and couldn't get into the tiny crevice where it was hidden. Randy welcomed me warmly, popped open the hood, stuck a new lightbulb in there, tested it, and sent me on my way all in the span of maybe 5 to 10 minutes. And he charged me a super reasonable price. Great Service! Stopped in during lunch with no appointment for an oil change, NO Problem! They took the car (Scion XB) and changed the oil for a flat rate. Then I remembered that I also needed the tires rotated at the last minute. NO Problem! They took care of that as well. Next time I need a tune up I know where to go! It's just my experience. I have been waiting for my car to be fixed for more than two weeks. My car needed an engine replacement(it wasn't drivable) that's why I was asking these guys when I can bring my car over. They replied over and over again we don't have a space for the car like around 2 weeks and every week was followed just by(we don't have a spot) but maybe tomorrow(that never came). And finally I though the day has come since they had told that tomorrow you can bring it over. I ordered a towing truck asked and I had to leave my job earlier and also I needed some people to help me with the car. And at the very last moment they said again we don't have a parking space. I needed a new tire so I called the tire shop that I go to for tires and alignments. The owner told me he had to buy my tire in pairs so I bought one from Amazon and waited for Fed Ex to deliver the tire. Fed Ex delivered the tire and now I needed a shop to mount and balance the new tire. I saw all the reviews for Bayshore Auto and decided to give them a call. A girl answered and I asked her how much they wanted to mount and balance a tire. She said it would be twenty four dollars including tire disposal. I brought the new and old tire to Bayshore Auto and walked up to the service area. The owner - I'm assuming he is the owner - saw me and asked me if he could help me. I asked him if he could mount and balance a tire. He said yes and I asked him if the cost is twenty four dollars and he said yes. I asked him how long would it take and he said they would do it immediately. I walked back to the car and got the new tire out of the trunk and dropped it near the service area. I had to go back to the car and get the old tire out of the trunk. I rolled the old tire to one of the waiting employees and he installed it on a machine and took the tire off the rim. He then mounted the new tire on the rim, inflated the tire, removed it and brought it to another machine where he spun and balanced the tire. I paid in the office and drove home with my new tire. It only took about ten minutes for Bayshore to remove the old tire and mount and balance the new one. I will definitely go back for additional tire repairs. read more

This review is long overdue. But I had my car towed to Bayshore auto a few months ago after getting a flat tire. The garage was very busy. Regardless of that, I had the best experience with the entire staff and mechanics. They were very understanding of my need to get my car fixed and were super quick at taking care of the problem. Very honest people, which is impossible to come across when you're looking for a good mechanic. They said my tire could actually be repaired and didn't need to be replaced. I saved over 100$ and I've been driving it for a couple of months now. No issues so far! I got my tire fixed and an oil change all in 30 minutes. And this was on a very busy day for them. Can't imagine how quick it would be on a calmer day. :) Highly recommend them and will definitely come back. The best way to keep a customer is being honest and not ripping them off. These guys were honest and definitely not rip offs and they got 2 things done for me in less than 40 min and less than 60$. :D read more
