First.... the pizza was amazing. Easily top 10% for me. So many pizzas weakness is the crust. NOT this place. I usually dont even eat the crust of most pizzas. This one ... i ate it all. Even saved crust to reheat when i couldnt finish the last piece. Awesome taste. The meat lovers was really topped very well. Every bite had meat. Good balance on the cheese and sauce. The meatballs were my favorite and i cd hv easily just hd a meatball pizza. Hawaiian was pretty good but could not taste any honey. But hd a lot of pineapple and ham. After receiving a recommendation from a local, we popped into Bayside for pizza and then walked into our childhood. Food First: I had ricotta pizza with added mushrooms, Spouse had Hawaiian with Jalapenos. Both were amazing. The Ricotta was generous and flavorful. Hawaiian was equally amazing. The crust - perfect. (We have amazing North End Boston Pizza, and this was better). Staff: Super cool, we wanted for nothing, they checked in on us a lot and were good people, we didn't feel bothered at all. Ambiance: I can't, I just can't. It's not mentioned anywhere but this place is a late 70's through late 80's dream. THEY HAD A TEDDIE RUXPIN AND AN ALF. Are you freaking kidding me? Video games, TRON, Dragons Slayer, Rampage, Star Wars, Pong, and more or free. The owner came out for no particular reason, and was wearing a Thunder Cats T-Shirt, I happened to also be wearing mine and ran over, "THUNDER CATS, ROOOAHHH" I am blown away. As soon as we walked in we could tell it was a homey place, decor was awesome, we were seated & greater right away by Cici who was fantastic! Just stopped and had a delicious lunch while heading down to Key West. We sat outside in the garden area. Our server, Lock was extremely pleasant and efficient! The Menu has a lot of great choices and there was even a special dog menu for Sunny (@mygoldendoodlesunny), my service dog. We tried the lobster bisque and loved it along with the #1 item, the Grouper Reuben sandwich and pasta salad. It's easy to see why it is so popular. It was delicious and I would definitely get it again! My husband thoroughly enjoyed his Cuban sandwich too! We didn't indulge in any of the bakery items but they looked beautiful. I went to Bayside Gourmet for lunch to try the Grouper Reuben. This may be the very best fish sandwich in the Florida Keys. I got my grouper blackened for the sandwich which gave it tons of extra flavor. The fish was fresh and cooked perfectly so that it was juicy and flaky inside the sandwich. The cooked fish fillets are placed between two slices of marbled rye with sauerkraut, swiss cheese and their homemade thousand island dressing. The flavors meld together into one delicious bite after another. I got the pasta salad as my side which I would also recommend. it is a unique pasta salad because they do not add mayonnaise, but the flavor profile is delicious and will keep you guessing on their key ingredients. Be sure that you do not judge the restaurant by the outside as you drive by. I would not have stopped, but when you go in it is fully updated and very nice. The food is excellent and I wish I had more opportunities to explore their menu further. read more

We were looking for what was - in their opinion - the best Key Lime Pie. Man oh man were they right! Bayside Gourmet is right on A1A - easy to get to, and they have pies ready to pickup and go in their refrigerator - freshly made onsite. We got one for ourselves and one to take home to family in Miami. What you get is a rich, decadent pie with just the right amount of tart, body and a nice layer of meringue on top. Next time I want to stay here longer, try their pizza, and play more of their arcades. The place has a number of retro arcades and pinball machines - all evoking 1980s nostalgia. Many of them are free to play. Memorabilia lining the walls transports you back a good 30-40 years....blast from the past indeed. read more

My favorite thing on the menu is the Grouper Rueben and I probably order it 50% of the time. The staff is excellent. The owner is present and attends to the service levels. Wow what a great lunch spot! So many positives to discuss. My wife and I basically kicked the bowl of lobster bisque clean. It's fresh and hand made full of creamy goodness, get it. Next, they handmade their balsamic dressing as well. Order it, it's to die for! However, the star of the show was the grouper Rueben that we ordered lightly blackened. Get that too. This is a smaller place but has a cool ambiance. There are some classic games in the entrance and fun/interesting mementos throughout. The staff are kept busy but are friendly and efficient. Like a lot of places in the area, you can easily drive by without seeing it the first time, so you may want to use the directions from the Yelp app. We enjoyed a really good casual meal here, our first day in Islamorada. I opted for a Quatro Formaggio (four cheese) pizza that I thoroughly enjoyed but wasn't able to finish on my own. My husband ordered a "Real Philly Cheesesteak" and was happy with his choice. We liked this place so much we came back twice in the four days we were there! Fish dip with rosemary crostini was delicious. And the presentation- lovely. Lobster bisque, creamy and full of lobster. I loved my Baked Cavatelli Bolognese and the portion was HUGE. It was served with a delicious, crisp side salad. Friend loved the Grouper Reuben Sandwich so much he ordered it both times we were there. And their pizza? Awesome. Meat Lovers and the Hawaiian were devoured. We ordered a Cheese Pizza to go for our drive home the next day. We didn't have room to try any of the desserts but they looked wonderful. Staring into the bakery case, I wanted to buy one of everything. The service is epic. The first night we were there we arrived about an hour and a half before closing. Just a few minutes later they were slammed. The teamwork was amazing. Servers helping one another and attending to tables that weren't even theirs. During our trip to the keys, this was by far the best place we discovered. So many places in the area are high priced for mediocre food, but Bayside Gourmet knows what they're doing. My wife and I, and our two kids (10 & 7), all loved it. A great assortment of food, realistic prices, and packed with delicious fresh flavors. No joke, we ended up going there 4 times in the one week we visited. Literally everything was a home run. We had the works pizza (twice), grouper Reuben, lasagna, smoked fish dip, Greek salad, Caesar salad, Philly cheese steak, Cuban press sandwich, spicy fish tacos, Tavernier sandwich, key lime pie, and some cookies. Everything was incredible. As far as the atmosphere, lots of free retro games to play in the lobby, and cool memorabilia. The staff was also on their game. Very friendly and conversational. Return visit so this time we ordered Italian entrees. The service could use a little more polish but was OK. Wish our server had left the wine cork but we "forced" ourselves to finish the bottle. The Caesar salads were worth the up charge. We had lasagna that was delicious and generous in portion. Also had the veal parm. Wish it had been described as breaded. Would've had something hint else. The breading dominated what was great meat. The pasta and sauce was great. Meal was about $90 with a nice bottle of Chianti. Look forward to our next visit for pizza. OMG! So delish! This has been our favorite to go pizza place for a bit, but we went in last night for dinner. I was blown away. We sat in the outside patio. The ambience was so relaxing. Lawn lights are strung throughout the trees, mood lights bounce off the walls. I had chicken Alli gourmet, my husband had veal parm and my son had chicken parm. We tasted each others dinners and each were amazing. Plenty of food on our plate, actually enough for a full lunch today. Our server, Lock was so much fun. The owner came over and chatted with us for a bit. She was so kind. Everyone is the restaurant was hustling to make sure all the guests had a great evening. The 80's decor is so fun to look at. My wife and I visited Bayside gourmet on a Tuesday night in mid September. It was relatively busy, and there was a 5 min wait for a table. Another pair of patrons tried to skip the short wait and sit themselves at a table. The staff respectfully explained that there was a wait, and handled the situation professionally, and we were then sat in no time. As far as the food, everything was fantastic! We split the meatballs and the lobster bisque. My wife had the Quattro formaggio pizza, and I had the cheesesteak. The cheesesteak was exceptionally good, and that is coming from a tough critic as a Pennsylvania native. We will definitely be coming back next time we are in Islamorada. read more
