The pizza was HUGE and quite tasty. I'm not a huge pizza guy but enjoyed it. And they allowed me to watch my team ( Alabama Crimson tide ) when every other bar on nearby Mass Ave had a much lesser team playing. For this, I'm grateful. Bartender / host was very nice and patient with me as I tried to figure out what I wanted and they havr a pretty decent drink selection for it not being a huge bar. Very underwhelming pizza. After reading amazing reviews online, decided to give this place a try after landing into Indy last night (first time in Indy). We ordered Greek salads, that I'd give a 6.5/10 to start. Then we ordered 3 small pizzas to share: Quattro Formaggio: 2/10 bland, crust not strong enough for all of the cheese. Colossus: 3.5/10 bland, even with all the toppings. Tchoupitohlas: 5/10, interesting pizza I would never order, but came recommended by the waiter. The Cajun shrimp and andouille sausage gave this a higher rating than the others simply because it had more flavor. From the crust to the toppings most of it taste the same, little to no flavor. We've tried several different varieties, with our favorites being the B.O.T. and the Margherita. (We have also added meat to the Margherita at times, which is a yummy way to mix things up.) This is the best pizza I've ever had! There are SO MANY OPTIONS! You can even do half & half with specialty pizzas (half one & half another). We got half Quattro Formaggio & half Mediterranean. I finally got around to trying this place. Verdict = One of the best pizza's I've had in Indy so far. We came in on a quiet weekday and got seated fairly quickly. Our server was very informative and super friendly which is always a plus. Especially when there is so much to choose from on the menu. We asked him for drink suggestions and he recommended some good options for us. We ordered the fresh mozzarella plate, a 16" half and half pizza ( half pepperoni, half colossus) and I decided on an Ace Pineapple Craft Cider. Initial thoughts were as follows: * Fresh Mozzarella plate appetizer- So delicious and very fresh. It came with bread and olive oil to dip in. I didnt expect to like this as much as I did....it was REALLY good. * Pizza- was fantastic! The colossus was my favorite. It was the perfect meat and veggie ratio and the crust was not too thick. We even had leftovers to enjoy the following day (which were still delicious btw!). I am so glad I finally found a good pizza place in my new state. Perhaps it was due to visiting at lunch and not dinner, but upon arrival we had to order from the counter rather than from a server, Although it wasn't ideal, we obliged. I ordered the lunch special of two slices of sausage pizza and a lunch special salad. The pizza was delicious but the salad was quite literally just lettuce and two slices of tomato. I was hoping there would at least be cheese on it. My friend ordered a 10 inch cheese pizza and seemed to be very pleased. The outside front patio seating was nice especially with the nice weather here in Indy. Overall, our lunch experience was nice. We stopped into Bazbeaux as a part of our midwest roadtrip; we came starving, but we left *so* satisfied! Their menu has an incredible number of options, and you can also do a create your own pizza and merge their specialty pizzas. We ordered a half Colossus, half Mediterranean pizza (both were great, but the Mediterranean was our favorite), and we regret nothing! They also have a bar in-house, and we had some of their beers on tap with dinner (pretty sure I had the Voodoo Love Child). This was actually during the summer - the weather was beautiful and my friends and I wanted to take a walk on the canal and we got hungry! Decided to go to Bazbeaux since pizza is obviously the best choice when you have a 6+ group. Though, we did not know their was a Colts game going and it was also the last day of Gen Con (downtown was BUSY). There was a 20min wait, but that was just about anywhere else on Mass Ave. We're glad we waited because the food was great. I haven't been to a Bazbeaux since the first day I moved to Indy in 2016. The Fresh Mozarella plate was the star of the day. The next day, I even went to the store to buy some Mozarella and Sun Dried tomatoes to try and mimic the dish. The pizzas were great as well. My boyfriend and I came here last weekend around 8pm. We were told a 45 minute wait (totally fine by us) and 15 minutes later, we got a phone call saying the table was ready. I have visited Bazbeaux many times and always get the Pizza Alla Quattro Formaggio (without mushrooms). Lots of cheese but the crust is very crisp and can handle it. Parking is a bit difficult but as is anywhere on Mass Ave. Bazbeaux has a back entrance which gives way to more parking options. We enjoyed sitting outside on the patio in late May.
