Who would have thought that Nordstroms was hiding a gem?? Cocktails were strong, great flavor and on point. Ordered the Salmon dish and it did not disappoint. I ate every single bite. My partner in crime ordered the fish and chips. Lightly battered, not greasy, fatty fish, everything you want in fish and chips. We finished with the white chocolate bread pudding and it was amazing. Bazille, previously Blue Stove which was Nordstrom's take on small plates/tapa style dishes has a very familiar menu to its predecessor. Fortunately, they've kept a few of the items from Blue Stoves menu and slightly adjusted the portion size and the pricing to reflect it. Bazille's menu now looks like a traditional menu with starters, soups and salads & full size entreés. To start, they will bring bread and olives in olive oil, but it seems to be more by request, than their standard. They have a full bar, including select beers and a wine list featuring wines from regions in California, Oregon, Washington, France, Italy, Argentina & New Zealand. One thing that's nice about their wine selection is they serve by the glass or by the bottle on every wine featured on their wine list. Between my personal order and tasting the other dishes my family have ordered, I've tasted most of the items on the menu and there are a few that stand out and are musts when eating here. First, you definitely need to order the cilantro lime chicken tacos. There are 2 tacos in a crispy shell and they are addicting. Don't worry, they are small and won't ruin your actual meal. Second, if you love shrimp and are in the mood for a salad that you won't want to end, order the cilantro lime shrimp salad, and you can thank me later. The last dish I had there caught my eye when looking at the menu, and I'm so glad that I ordered it. I had the Korean BBQ short ribs served over charred pineapple kimchi & baby bok choy. The meat was tender and was full of flavor. The service all around has always been good. From the hosts at the front, to the servers, to the bartender, everyone is always really nice. If you find yourself at the Oaks Mall and want a great meal that will put the food court options to shame, come to Bazille and treat yourself. read more

So after I posted this review I received a message from the regional manager that was apologetic, he also asked if he could have my contact info so that someone from the restaurant could reach out to me. I thought that was the right thing to do, so I gave him my info. Never heard from anyone! I wrote him back and told him that no one contacted me and that I thought that was almost worse than the bad service, that they obviously don't care. And I never got a response. Really??? What was the point of contacting me in the first place? I would've given them another chance had I heard from them, because one bad (very bad) waiter does not take away from the fact that the food is good there. Came with the wifey to Bazille today and when we walked in we sat at the bar. Juan the bartender mentioned a drink with Mint and my wife said I'll try it. I have dined here a couple times. Food has declined significantly and the seats were destroyed in the booths. We ordered avocado toast, french fries, mini tacos. They were out of bread for the avocado toast, that is odd when the place was not busy. The french fries were ore-ida frozen from the bag, not hand cut/fresh, and the dipping sauce was weird. The mini tacos tasted like pre made shells. The booth we were sitting in was torn- see picture. I have been to sketchy diners with better seats! The server said the store was being remodeled but NOTHING will be done to the restaurant. We walked around after we ate and other booths had torn seats. Deplorable and not worth spending money to sit on seats that snag clothes. This place used to have good food before the plandemic and Nordstrom going downhill. Not going back and wasting my money. Also, you must try the Kung Pow (?) Brussel Sprouts. They are fantastic! And the chicken sausage in it is really good! It's got the right amount of crunch and the right amount of flavor. This restaurant is upstairs inside Nordstrom. There's plenty of parking. The service was wonderful! You can make a reservation if you want to, but they aren't busy first thing when they open, which is when we went. There's lots of big windows for plenty of natural lighting. I came here with coworkers recently and we had a very enjoyable lunch. Staff was very professional and attentive, pacing was great and food was excellent. Everyone at our table enjoyed what they got and the selection on the menu was great. We were all looking at some of their take-home chocolates on the way in, but none of us had any room to think about them by the time we were leaving. Restroom is inconveniently located outside the restaurant, some distance away within Nordstrom, but that's really the only thing I could complain about. Portion size was good, and the ingredients were all fresh and flavorful. They were able to work around my dietary requests and everyone's order was correct. A buddy of mine told me about the new restaurant in Nordstrom so I tried it out today. Had the seared scallops over lemon risotto... DELISH! I hate to be leaving a one star review but we've given Bazille two chances already and both were horrible. We just have to find a new place to eat when we're shopping at Topanga Mall's Nordstrom. Last time we were here the food brought was cold and toddler's food came in AFTER our food when we asked for toddler food to come out asap. Now this time, we waited for no joke 55 minutes and NO FOOD and we have a toddler...imagine that! We just had to leave as it seemed like they were having problems in the kitchen with one another and maybe the Manager but I have to say I'm just over all disappointed because these are things that can be easily avoided. read more

I thought this place was reasonably priced. They do have some more expensive priced items, but they give you some cheaper options as well. My girlfriend and I did a soup and salad. The goat cheese and pomegranate jam was excellent. The mango and crab salad was very fresh and tasty. I would've liked to see a little riper mangoes in it, though! Still very good. Since I've been eating somewhat healthy, I ordered the chicken with brussels sprouts, cooked in an orange butter and grapes. The chicken was a bit dry, the bs were pretty good and definitely wouldn't mind if the grapes weren't added. Overall the food was okay. Service was awesome. Bazille is one of my mom's favorite places to eat - as was Blue Stove before Bazille replaced it (not sure if this is a direct relation to her love of Nordstrom.. but regardless). For her birthday, she asked for our family to come here because she wanted a nice, quiet dinner. So we came on a Sunday, as a party of 7, and had a great experience. Everything, from the service to the food, was great. Between all of us we tried many different things on the menu: Heirloom Tomato & Burrata, 3 orders of Cilantro Lime Chicken Tacos (my favorite), Seared Scallops, Skirt Steak Romesco, Flat Iron Steak Frites, Pan Seared Chicken, Southwest Chicken Sandwich; and our kids got Chicken Tenders and Cheese Tortelloni. Sad they changed the vibe of the Blue Stove to a sports bar. My wife and I used to love to duck out into the Blue Stove and enjoy sharing spectacular little dishes in a quiet setting. The room's architectural design was a beautiful match for the mellow vibe and now it doesn't fit at all. While the food is still good, Bazille is noisy, bright and feels hectic. I came here as a little treat to myself for my birthday and also cuz I had not had lunch. I had my just turned 5 yo son with me. I was generally enjoying my time there until one of the other waitresses said to tell my son not to stand on the seat. Mind you, this was a booth. He does this all the time at restaurants.
