I had my hair done by Hein way back 2020 (wish I still had the picture but couldn't find it), and it was lovely! I decided to message her for an appointment and got in the same day. I showed her the picture that I wanted and she achieved it! (See pictures below). What I liked about my appointment was that she was just doing her own thing and just letting me enjoy my appointment in peace. Of course, she will talk to me about what I should do or what she will do with my hair but no side talk, really. If you are looking to get highlights, etc done, please contact Hein. She will give you a reasonable/affordable price. Also, please tip them well, I normally do 20% because they work hard! Please don't come here if you're looking for a quick haircut! I was hoping to get a clean up hair cut for an event the next day and my experience was horrible. The lady who cut my hair was so rude and kept making remarks about my thick hair. She also straightened my hair without putting heat protectant spray and explained it was to make sure she got an " even cut". I walks out with chunks of hair falling out of my head after she "thinned my hair out" because it was " too thick". She put 0 love into my hair and made me feel like she didn't care about my experience there. Sad. I went back to complain but she was just straight faced and looked annoyed. Tldr: Complete nightmare I asked to get the tips trimmed due to color damage and asked for a feathered effect. Instead the hairdresser cut off *any* hair that had color. My hair was long and healthy, removing all color was completely unnecessary and unexpected. I went in with long hair for a trim and came out with a layer that is barely shoulder length. Looking at the layers he gave me, they're very uneven. See example pic of the short layer, longer on one the right and thin in the back. It looks like his approach was to cut any part of my hair that had color, and then he tried to patch it up. I went in for a consultation at a different salon. Due to the sharp V and bad layering they said the only fix is to get rid of what was left of the longest layer. I did not consent to how much was cut. I'm disgusted someone would do this to me, sad, and angry. This has been a nightmare. read more

Peter was amazing! I've been looking for a conveniently located salon for about a month than now since I've moved to Hayward from San Mateo and not only was BB's close by, but it was super affordable too! When I got to the salon, I was greeted nicely by Peter who was at the first chair, closest to the door. He came up to me, remembering my name from asking to book an appointment with him that same day, and asked if it was okay if he finished up another client's hair as well. For me it was no issue for I was trying to decide on what I wanted to do with my hair anyway. When my turn was up, he greeted me with a handshake and asked me what I wanted to do with my hair and I told him I didn't know if I wanted just a trim or a bob, but we decided to go in between and do a lob! The whole time, Peter was so easy and fun to talk to! And throughout the whole session, he would constantly ask if I was okay or not. By the end of it, my hair was silky, the cut was even, and I was very happy with my experience! He also mentioned to me if I wanted a balayage/ombre done that he would be able to do it too! Double points because I've been trying to find someone in this area to do it for an affordable price (because I am a broke college student going bougie on a budget). Ohh my hair is so soft & silky now. For the past few times I've gotten my hair done, I've spent $150+. Now, that my thought process has changed from "you deserve it" to "we need groceries," I've yelped a few places around the area and landed at BB Salon (or BeBe as it says here). Long flow-y hair +dead ends = no bueno. I came in on a Friday around 1130a and the place was nearly empty, although a couple folks and their kids came in after me. I love that their was no wait. I sat in the chair and the girl helping me out immediately asked me what I wanted to get done: 2-3 inches off the dead ends and do not, I repeat DO NOT touch my bangs. I was diggin' the length and didn't want to mess with them. 25 minutes go by after snips, chops, oils, straightening and voila! Healthy, shiny and no dead end in sight. She mentioned that she noticed my highlights were only re-touched in certain spots (toward the crown) and would only look nice if worn down. She offered to fix it when I was ready for a new color. Although I'm a bit hesitant changing up my salon for color, I think I'm ready to try a salon closer to my house and my budget. In the end I spent $20 +$5 tip and left very very happy :) read more

Oooh boy. The gal that used to cut my hair is gone, so the last time I went in was a much less desired experience. Took a chance on a walk-in since I was visiting my folks and just looking for a quick trim (well, technically I had an appointment but basically with "anyone"), and ended up being one of the worst haircuts I've had in a while. Sat down, and the owner was nice for about 45 seconds, but did a 180° immediately after I asked for my damp hair not to be straightened before cutting. He was miffed and proceeded to spend the entire time passive aggressively "educating" me on how I needed my hair cut and how not straightening it first would guarantee that it was not going to come out right or even. He ended up just taking the bottom of my hair off in a straight line, rushed the through the entire thing, and was purposely haphazard and flippant during the entire (luckily exceedingly short) process. Luckily, because my hair is NOT naturally straight (nor do I own a straightener), it hides imperfections decently, but because he didn't do anything to try to shape, thin, or blend my hair at all I ended up getting a second haircut immediately after I went back home (at which the hair dresser politely let me know it was completely lopsided in the back). Better luck if you're willing to acquiesce or are okay with unnecessarily damaging techniques, and don't mind a patronizing, rude attitude. I did a walk in, it was a huge regret. I have leftover blonde hair and I asked for a cut, wash and i THOUGHT blowdry. She washed my hair and then blow dried it a little but my hair was still wet. wait for it. She put a hot straightener to my wet hair, and now my hair is totally ruined. I tried to let my temper go down for a while and weigh in the fact that how difficult it was for the barbers during COVID-19. With that said, I would still say AVOID THIS PLACE AT ANY COST. The middle-age (45+) gentlemen with a dyed purple short hair wouldn't even tell me his name afterwards because he knew how bad it was, not just the haircut but also the attitude. First, I wear glasses and he handed over my glasses by grabbing the lens. I can see the full fingerprint on my glasses. So gross. Second, he finished (ruined) my hair in less than 10mins. I timed it, no exaggeration. He probably need to catch a train. Third, the shaver kept hurting me and I complained three times. He showed nothing but impatience. My go-to hair salon person is in Milpitas and I just live so far from there and really wanted to cut my hair. I went to this location due to the reviews and the cost. I was take in by Lynn and was charged $20. I just want to say that I will definitely DEFINITELY make another trip to this salon! Lynn really took her time with my hair. She'd trim my hair little by little, asking if im content with the length. No other stylist does that!!! They straight up cut a big chunk off without checking in with you!! Love love love this place! I really like coming here. I am not sure what the girl's name is that cuts my hair as I forgot. But she has short hair and is Asian. She is great! I get a basic fade on the side and back and then I keep a bit of hair in the middle to style. She takes her time and seems very precise. I also have gotten a haircut from the guy that works there. I went here for about 1 and a half years to maintain my highlights. I've heard from my roommate this was a good place for highlights so I decided to try it. So my first time I got Evelyn. She's really nice and definitely takes her time. I love her! I have really hard to maintain hair which is really thick, but she would work with what I had and every time I'd leave here, I'd look great! Evelyn is great with color, her haircuts were average. Sometimes she'd make my bangs or layers uneven but not every time. When I came to her the first time, I had a bad "do-it-myself" bangs haircut which she fixed and my hair color was uneven due to repetitive at home hair color. She considered the hair color I had at the time which was really burgundy red if anything. By the time I was done I had beautiful orange blond hair with light blond highlights, I was AMAZED with the transformation in one day! If your interested in color and highlights I would definitely recommend her. Problem is over the time I had been going to her, every time I went, the price kept going up and up to touch up my roots because she'd literally have to re-highlight my entire head because I guess my extra thick hair would eat the bleach or something! Plus she would take at least 3-4 hours on my hair, so it became too expensive! So the only reason I stopped going to her is because it got too pricey to maintain the highlights. When I first started going to her my mid back length hair cut and color and highlights was about $120 without tip. By the last visit I had with her last summer it jumped to about $150 without tip. Also after about 3 washes the highlights would lose their brightness in my hair, not sure if it's my hair or the quality of the color and bleach they use but since it would never look as great the day I got it colored I decided maintaining the color and highlights wasn't worth the price. read more

Came here to get a haircut before graduation and Eva did a great job! It wasn't busy at all and I went around 3.30pm. I was really surprised how little people there were. The second time I came I got a different person but forgot her name. She did a nice job and I asked her not to blow dry my hair since I was gonna shower right after. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because of the price. This shop is pretty pricey compared to numerous other salon shops. My bf also thinks this place is way too pricey. He used to go to one a little further and it's only $8 for his haircut. This place charges $12. But he did say that the girl who cut his hair was very gentle and that they didn't hurt him when they were cutting near and behind his ears. I wouldn't mind coming back but that's mainly because it's so close to where I live. But if there happens to be another salon that's cheaper, I would switch. read more

I got a terrific cut from Yvonne this past Saturday. I arrived as a walk-in around noon and was seated immediately. After I arrived other customers started coming in, ranging from an adorable little girl getting her first cut to a guy getting his regular fade. Yvonne was very friendly and listened to what I wanted while giving constructive feedback. I asked for my side bangs to be a bit shorter when she layed them on the front of my face, and she suggested I see what it looks like first, since when they are parted sideways they do look shorter on the face. She was totally right. I also told her to give me some lifted layers in the back since my hair is so fine and she did a great job. I was out the door in about 30 minutes for $17.00 plus tip. No massage/wash, but I wouldn't expect one for that price. She did give me a blow out and style. Other staff also looked like they were all experienced stylists, no one's chair was empty and they were all very attentive. I'll be a regular, it is very convenient to my house and I felt it was an excellent value with excellent customer service. Also they accept credit cards. I have never gotten highlights before. I came in, not knowing what to do with my hair. Peter assisted me and provided AMAZING service. He suggested that I get red natural highlights and layers, which is what I got. He constantly asked if I was comfortable or doing okay. My hair came out beautiful all thanks to Peter. I highly recommend going to this salon. Ask for Peter! My sister had another hairstylist do her hair, and she loves it. Unfortunately, I forgot to ask for the other hairstylist's name.
