The layer was uneven and her reasoning was "this is how layer is". The hair in the back was choppy while the front bang has strands of long hair with it. She even sarcastically said that maybe next time I should count the number of hair before she cut the bang (my daughter wanted a very light bang). Talk about condescending attitude! I actually didn't mind it that badly since hair does grow. It is the attitude that upsets and frustrates me. I have been going to this salon for a couple years now. I only visit twice a year for hair color and hair cut and always see Jenny. I went on a Tuesday and didn't know Jenny was off and was seen by Lyn. I got a haircut and was very pleased with how Lyn was as good as Jenny. She is very soft spoken and honest in giving her opinions on what would look best on me and I trusted her because she knows better than me. I wanted to get a balayage on that day but didn't have enough time so I went today, which is a holiday (Memorial day), brought a friend with me to get a balayage too! My friend who came a little earlier than me was seen by Jenny and I was seen by Lyn. They were both very helpful and patient with us, answering all our questions and delivered what we wanted. I originally had a neutral blonde balayage done in December when I went for a vacation in the Philippines, but the color was not even. After almost 6 months, it looked brassy already so I decided to do it again but this time here at QQ salon. The balayage took 6 hours, because of our thick and long hair plus they had a lot of clients that were coming too. My friend and I both left happy with our new hair color! I've been coming here to get my hair cut by Jenny for many years. Jenny is very efficient and I never need to wait very long. My hair is pretty thick, but Jenny always knows what I want and is able to suggest what will work best with my face shape and hair texture. I'm always satisfied after coming. I also got my hair highlighted once by Jenny. It was my first time dying my hair, but Jenny was once again able to guide me through the process and suggest what would work best for my complexion. I want to share my big disappointment with QQ Salon. I had a special event to attend that night with professional photographers present, so I was thrilled to find a place with last-minute availability. Unfortunately, the experience was far from what I expected. The same person washed and blow-dried my hair, but the blow-dry was very disappointing. It was not smooth or professional-looking at all. They should either stop offering this service or disclose that it's not a professional blow out. The other staff members saw my hair and seemed to show it was acceptable, but I certainly didn't. We are happy with their accommodating mother's disability in assisting transfers from wheelchair to salon chairs. The prices were right too. Note: since they acted like an ADA compliant facility and staff, this made it a wonderful experience for us, although they did have signs 'we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone'... I've been to this salon before and this time, I had a root touch-up done. They did an exceptional job with the color and matched the color to my existing hair color from the last time I visited them. The staff was super nice. They knew what they were doing. The price on the wall stated $65 and up. I had asked how much is the root touch up. They told me it was for $65. The price of "$65 and up" is a starting point. It depends on what you would like done for your hair. I am giving them a 5 stars! I would also like to comment on this person's response in Yelp: Aanya S. (Fremont) visited on May 16, 2024 "very poor service and too expensive and did not disclose the price in the beginning. it took 30 minutes for 1 half leg waxing and they charge per leg. the staff is super rude. I would never recommend anyone to go to this salon. they cheat on you and poor and old way of waxing is used. do not even complete the job properly." My comments: 1. I was there waiting as a customer when she complained. 2. The price was posted clearly, in LARGE PRINTS, on the wall behind the front desk, for a 1/2 leg to be waxed for "$25 and up". So I came here to get my hair done with tammy. This was a last minute request from my mom to her since I had to cancel mine with my own hair stylist. I'm glad she was able to take me on such a short notice. My hair came out okay, since it was rushed I didnt expect it to be 100%. Fast forward to my bangs, she curled my bangs and literally it looks like I have round hair on top of my forehead. She kept saying that she has to do that because it was so long I said I know that but I'm usually able to fix my bangs without having to curl it so much. I told her to leave it alone and that I'll fix it myself. She was even insinuating that I should get it cut. Yeah ofcourse I was super against that. Anyways, my mom sent me a picture of her makeup for her wedding and God idk what happened to her. Tammy did my moms make up, and no offense to her but I think she should stick to doing hair. My moms make up made her look so different. Idk if she used the right foundation but it was definitely not matching her skin tone. When I got to my mom we literally had to fix her whole face to match her skin tone. I was really disappointed with that. Over all, unfortunately I would not go back to tammy. She does not have enough experience nor training for the expectation I have with stylist and make up artist. Honestly, I have always been willing to pay good money for good work. Pointless of having your opinion shared (customer) with your stylist, only to get lashed back saying I did exactly what's in the picture, everything is fine. That was the owner which I later found out. To put it simple: you pay cheap, you get a cheap hair cut. I only went to this salon out of convenience and read recent reviews that it was okay, and I was only going there for a haircut. I asked for an Asian haircut with layers and even that wasn't achieved...hence my opinion. I should have made an appointment like I usually do to an actual salon that washes my hair, not spray with water (fyi never was asked if I should wash my hair) ...and I have long and thick semi-straight hair. Also got ignored because the owner and her worker were speaking Vietnamese the whole time, which I tried to small talk in English to small talk, again only to get ignored. I'm 1/2 Vietnamese and understood but can't converse well and English is my primary language. Any who's save your money, go somewhere professional. The lady who cut his hair has him sit in my lap.... not child friendly at all and then was getting upset that he was scared around the noise of the trimmer and got impatient with him. First off, I tried to give this place another try since Maya left and I am utterly disappointed. I called to see how much a root touch up would be and the owner quoted $30 and up, so I drove there to get it done. As soon as I walk in, I say I'm the one that called and then a lady told me it would be $60. I said I just called literally 5 min ago and they said $30+ how did it jump to $60? Then she said $60 is for 1" touch up and mine would actually be $70. Secondly, this is the worst bait and switch ever. Why would you have the owner quote $30+ to then be quoted $70 by barely looking at my hair. All I wanted was a dye root touch up - no highlights at all. And so I called back and said you shouldn't quote people something if you want to be realistic. I would've been fine w the original price, but by looking at my hair in a bun within seconds and say "we never would quote $30" is so rude and honestly wrong and should be considered fraud to get people to walk in. I would never ever try this place ever again considering my hair lady Mya already left over 2 years ago anyway. Customers beware, this is not a good place. read more

I was in awe with the way she washed my hair and gave me a light massage. Very impressed with Helen. I will definitely go back to this place for my roots. read more

I would give 0 stars if possible. The salon owner Jenny did a Brazilian Blowout on HALF of my hair and charged me $300. She was very cheap and stingy with the product, didn't even use it correctly step by step (spoke to Brazilian Blowout customer service) and my hair is so tangled still. I've done Brazilian Blowouts at least 8 times so far on far worse and damaged hair than I have now, & my hair was as sleek as it can be with this treatment. One the second step she used another product besides the Brazilian Blowout & VERY little. I am not exaggerating when I tell you how stingy she was with the product. Jenny tells me the products are very expensive, yes the bottle is $700 but she charged me $300 and BARELY used any pump. I saw her put TEN pumps in the hair bowl and worked that throughout my hair. Jenny has been cutting my hair for the past 7 years and very well consistent. When she moved to this new location, I was really excited as it is a lot closer to my home. All in all, Jenny listens to what customer wants and this what makes me come back over and over again. Every time I come in, I tell her how I want my hair cut (or if it's the same) and she does it consistently. Very gentle as I have a really sensitive skin and my skin gets irritated and red with a brush of razor and she always manages to be really gentle and careful. My family and I found this place on Yelp and have been going here ever since! They're AMAZING. Jenny and Tammy always do an incredible job with both men's and women's hair. My dad first came in for a hair rescue because the idiots who cut it before (at some other place) made it way too short and edgy. Jenny saved the day by creating a soft look which made the hair look better until it grows out. Recently, my sis and I came in to get our hair colored. Took around 2.5 hours which was understandable. Both Jenny and Tammy were AWESOME. They stayed late for us, took their time with our hair, handled us with care, and gave us exactly what we wanted. This is our go-to place. An update on my review last year; From 5 stars (based on the service and price) to 1 Star. I'm a type of person who goes to a salon just to get things done.
