She then proceeds to pick at my toes and give me a very rude stand - offfish vibe, she asked me if I wanted to add on other services, I declined them all then she gave me a nasty look once again. I politely asked her "do you not want to do my nails?" , " because it seems like you have an attitude, and I would prefer if someone else did my nails that would have more of a warm attitude" she agreed and I was approached by the lovely owner. The owner has a warm spirit and great hospitality. The woman who proceeded to do my nails after did a great job and had a better attitude. I would change my rating from 3/10 to a 7/10 because of the owner and the woman who finished my toes, but as far as the first woman. Horrible service. Thanks.

They made sure I was comfortable throughout my time at the salon. The attention to detail is on point! They do not rush trying to finish and really take the time to ensure that the end product is what the customer wants. I usually get both a pedicure and a manicure, both are priced decently. I work on my feet and looked forward to get my feet rubbed even if it was just a couple minutes but unfortunately after paying $106 for both pedicures I didn't even get to enjoy the full service. It felt extremely rushed even with absolutely no one else in there and having to say something about not getting the full service. Everyone else was very nice and the atmosphere is clean enough. Just maybe don't go for the older woman if you want a decent service besides the color. Will probably be trying out a new salon after two strikes

First, I was shocked that a basic kids' pedicure for my 8-year-old son cost $27. All they did was trim and clean his nails, followed by a short leg massage. That price seems extremely high for such a simple service, and there was never any discussion of pricing beforehand. The biggest issue, though, was my own nails. I paid about $55 for my gel manicure--$35 for gel polish, plus an additional $20 for a French tip and a small Mickey design. When I woke up the very next morning, less than 24 hours later, the entire gel polish had already peeled completely off one of my thumbnails. The French tip and Mickey design on other nails were also already lifting and peeling. I've never had a gel manicure fail this quickly. If I lived closer and didn't have to drive across the bridge, I would absolutely return to request a full refund because this level of quality is unacceptable. Between my dad, my two kids, and me, we spent close to $500, so we expected much better workmanship. My daughter's nails actually turned out great, so this review is strictly about the quality of my nails. One other thing that bothered me was my dad's pedicure. The staff kept offering him additional services during the appointment, and he kept saying yes without realizing each one came with an extra charge. By the end, his pedicure totaled over $100 plus tip. I really think pricing for add-on services should be clearly explained before they're performed so customers can make informed decisions. I've attached photos showing my thumbnail the morning after my appointment, along with photos I took the night before. It's incredibly disappointing to spend this much money and have a gel manicure start peeling in less than 24 hours.

I specifically told the nail technician to be gentle and to only trim it, not remove it. Despite this, the toenail was ripped off completely. I am in significant pain and it will now take several months for the nail to grow back. The experience did not stop there. My cuticles were also filed aggressively, even after I repeatedly asked for it to stop. At one point, I felt my concerns were not being taken seriously because she laughed at me. I left in discomfort that required them to apply Vaseline before I left due to irritation. I will not be posting a photo as the injury is graphic. This was a genuinely upsetting experience and I would not want anyone else to go through something similar. I would strongly recommend others consider going elsewhere. RESPONSE TO BUSINESS OWNER - Yes, $5.50 was taken off my bill. However, that does not come close to addressing what happened. I know my own toenails, and I clearly explained multiple times that one nail was loose and needed to be trimmed carefully. Despite that, the technician did not listen and ended up ripping the toenail off entirely. It was still attached and could have been handled gently, but it was not. At this point, my priority is not to go back and forth but to share my experience honestly so others are aware before booking an appointment. I believe it is important for potential customers to know what occurred. I understand your request, but I'm not comfortable posting a photo. Nobody rushed me with "hello what do you want" or shoved a color wall in my face before I even sat down. I actually felt like a person, not just another number to get in and out. It wasn't until I was sitting there that I realized how used to bad treatment I'd gotten. Other salons trained me without me even noticing, packed into a tiny space, treated like I'm on a conveyor belt, rushed out before my nails even had time to properly dry. I had honestly forgotten my time and my experience mattered. Delane's brought that back for me. The professionalism was on another level too. No games with the price going up if you don't tip in cash, which is honestly tacky and rude and tells you exactly how little they think of their customers. Nobody crowding me in next to three other people either. It was calm, it was peaceful, it actually felt relaxing instead of stressful. And the cleanliness. Towels were fresh, equipment looked properly cleaned, none of that murky blue water sitting in a dirty container that's clearly been there for who knows how long. Even the bathroom was clean, and that alone tells you a lot about how a place is really run. Once you go to Delane's and get treated with that kind of value and respect, you won't want to go back to anywhere else. And honestly, you shouldn't have to. Ask for Brandi.

I was actually in a rush to get my hair done the day of when we went. I asked my mom if she could look for good places that'll take me last minute. My mom came across this salon on Whipple and we actually never heard of it. We always look on reviews, especially for situations like this and we made sure that before we went, we would see some good opinions. Annie was the name we saw so many times with such great reviews. My mom actually called ahead to see if she was able to take me and she was. We got there and we felt very welcomed. They were all very sweet and had great customer service. They sat me and got started right away. She was even able to convince my mom to get her hair done as well. During the process, I also wanted to get my nails removed and they were able to help me out. As I was in the process of my hair, they brought me to the nail station and worked on my nails. I had to move a couple times due to my hair but I was totally okay with it. Throughout my nail removal, it was time to wash my hair and she even deep conditioned it after it was washed so I was able to go back to the nail area and finish getting it removed. My mom was getting finished up on her hair and I waited less than 10 minutes for my hair to get washed after the deep conditioning. After, she was able to blow dry and straighten my hair, she even curled my moms. She was just one of the best I've ever gone to and i'm for sure coming back. I recently went to Annie at Sunny Salon after letting my hair grow out for quite some time. The color had faded, the tones were uneven, and it was long overdue for a proper refresh. What I needed was a full color correction. From the start, Annie took the time to understand what I was hoping to achieve. She was thoughtful, communicative, and clearly experienced. Annie approached the correction with a meticulousness that's rare to find. I recently visited Sunny Spa Salon with my daughter, and we both had our hair colored. My daughter had a color correction done by Minh, and I had full color with baby highlights done by Annie. From start to finish, the experience was absolutely wonderful. The environment was welcoming and calm, and the staff treated us with so much kindness and patience. From the way we were greeted, to the shampooing, to the coloring and highlights everything felt smooth, relaxing, and professionally done. My service took quite a while due to the full color and baby highlights, but I honestly didn't feel tired at all. The staff was friendly, conversational, and made us feel so comfortable that we actually enjoyed the entire time there. The results turned out beautiful (photos attached). After a disappointing experience, I decided to give Ms. Annie another chance to fix my hair. Though I was hesitant and frustrated at first, I couldn't be happier with the outcome. Ms. Annie proved to be incredibly humbling; we shared stories, and she made me feel right at home. Bringing my 3-year-old along, I was touched by how sweet and caring she was towards him. It's truly uplifting to be surrounded by positive energy and to leave with exactly what I came for. Update: While Ms. Annie attempted to fix my hair for the second time, unfortunately, it resulted in damage, and now my hair is shedding excessively. There's a lot of good things I can say in regards to this salon. I was referred over by one of my friends and nervous to try a new place. Annie made me feel comfortable and took the time to go through pictures and give me ideas to achieve the perfect hair I wanted. She put in a lot of time and effort to help revive the damage from heat products and waiting for a year to get my hair cut again. My hair was a mess after I got it colored at the prior place I used to go to. Sunny Salon was able to incredibly fix it and get me back the color I always wanted and exceeded all my expectations. Sunny's sister in law did my pedicure and she was very thorough and did a great job, since it was my first time she gave me a heated rock and foot massage & also moisturizing facial cream for my calves wrapped in hot towel! Everyone here is very friendly and remembered me after my very first visit. Tiffany gives the best pedicure ever! My toes look terrific and the massage is amazing! Pricing is very reasonable: $65 for gel pedicure with salt scrub, paraffin, and hot rock massage. $95 total to add a gel manicure. Only drawback is that Tiffany only works on Saturday, but she is worth rescheduling all of your mani/ pedis to Saturdays! read more

Visiting from out of state, I chose to go to Annie at Sunny Salon for a balayage because of her great reviews on Yelp. Annie did a great job working on my hair----she is very kind/understanding and gives reasonable prices for the all the hard work that she does. She fixed my hair and turned it into a lovely ash blonde color. Very thankful for how nice and welcoming Annie and the entire staff is!! read more

Thank you so much for taking me in so last minute, and on your day off too! I spontaneously wanted to change my hair drastically last minute, and of course most places requires weeks in advance of reservation. I came in today with no appointment but was greeted by a friendly staff. Annie and Minh both colored my hair and picked out a really great auburn shade that I love. Annie also trimmed my bangs and even the sides to compliment my bangs. Over all really great service and work, thank you Annie and Minh! read more

I'd driven by Empire Salon many times and read the great reviews, so while I was scared to try someone different, I finally booked an appointment--and I'm glad I did. Michelle (the owner) and the other stylist at Empire, Louise, are very warm and friendly. Michelle is, like my cousin, truly a miracle worker when it comes to hair. My hair was in such bad shape that I was sure she was going to recommend I cut it short. (Think months of swimming outdoors + repeated highlighting + heat styling. It looked BAD.) When I told her that ideally I'd still like to be able to pull it back in a ponytail, I was sure she'd say that too much of my hair was beyond saving. However, when I walked out of her salon, I still had long hair, and even better, it still looks and feels amazing. The ultimate test for me of a great cut is that even after washing, and with no styling, my natural hair still looks good. I have fine, very wavy hair, and the first time I washed it after Michelle worked her magic, I just let it air dry and used no styling products... and it actually looked good. Not perfect like she when she professionally styled it, of course, but good. She'd even made my color look so much better--WITHOUT COLORING my hair--just by cutting and styling it. This woman has genuine talent. Also, her prices are reasonable. Finally, she has a small dog named Bear who treated me to canine karaoke. (Bear "sings" along with Michelle--who has a great voice--to Whitney Houston.) That was an unexpected extra. :-) I highly recommend Michelle and Empire Salon. One last thing: Michelle originally owned a much larger building next door to her current salon. That was where I'd originally seen Empire, so initially, I went there and knocked on the door, until I double-checked the address and realized she'd moved to a different building just to the right of it.
