Some of the best tri-tip I've ever had, but I also haven't been to many BBQ restaurants. It was incredibly tender though, I will say that. The hot links weren't the kind I was expecting, but delicious nonetheless. Their bbq sauce is nice and peppery, with a strong kick. Garlic bread was soft with a crispy exterior. So my dream job is to travel around the world while being a professional rib contest judge. I was so happy to hear about BBQ 152 was just 20 minutes away that after getting my hair did I stopped by and got some chicken, tri tip, and their pork ribs (to share with my hubby of course). I took my first bite at the pork ribs expecting for the meat to fall out of the bone and.....it was all cartilage. There was little meat on all the ribs that I was really dissapointed. What really saved this yelp was the chicken and potato salad. The chicken was really good and soft as well as the tri tip. The BBQ sauces were pretty good and the spicy one was really spicy. Descent quality food descent beverage selection. Not great but decent. The quantity of meat will vary every visit though. As a local The wife and I both dine in and do take out. We always joke weather or not to get a burger before going. Half chicken, tasty but overpriced. Best Value Pulled pork, tasty but overpriced. Portions vary on a daily basis. Ribs, okay but avoid as there are better in Gilroy. Sliders are my favorite. I order the trip tip. Some days 6 full pieces of meat, some days 3. I know its measure by weight but my tummy can tell the difference. Average cost is $50.00 for lunch for my wife and myself. Meal +1 beer. Staff is always friendly. I wouldn't come back here. Ordered BBQ shredded chicken: "we're out." Asked for potato salad: "we're out." We ended up eating ribs & a pulled pork sandwich with a side of beans. The beans were mushy and flavorless, we couldn't eat them. The ribs and pulled pork were fine, but nothing to write home about. Tried their garlic bread and it tasted like it was topped with raw garlic; I couldn't eat more than one bite because it was so strong. There really wasn't anything that would bring us back. On short notice they catered all the food including brisket, tri-tip, chicken, hot links, potatoes salad and coleslaw. Stumbled into this place as we were driving from LA to SF, and we may have to plan future drives around stopping here for meals. Went here about an hour before they closed since we were craving BBQ and they were sold out of tri tip. An upset I know right. Not only that, but they had only one rack of ribs left! So we bought the last rack of ribs with a half of pound of chicken that came with BBQ beans and cole slaw(which we substituted for Garlic Bread). It cost 30 dollars and was absolutely delicious. The ribs were great, the chicken was great and the beans were great too!!! For that price and quality of food I will definitely go back for more! On a road trip to Santa Barbara, we found this listing on Yelp! I have to say that the day we went the BBQ tritip was fresh and wonderful. Great flavor and nice smoke. For those who like a little adventure, I recommend trying the BBQ Hogwash. The only thing I was not a fan of was the beans which has a chili powder aftertaste. Average at best. Sandwiches come on their garlic bread which is pretty bland. Had the rib sandwich which is supposed to be boneless but had some pretty big pieces of bone still attached. This was the best BBQ I have ever had and I've had a lot of BBQ. There were multiple layers of flavor!!! My mouth was loving every bite. They must do a dry rub and then sauce on top of that because the meat was full of flavor. Most BBQ places seem to just cook the meat and then sauce it up, this place understand how to put layers of flavor in there. Whatever you are doing to that meat please keep doing it! As for the sides I wasn't overly impressed. I like sweater beans so that's just a personal preference and cole slaw I guess I'm pretty picky as well.
