The best thing about this place are the employees: Kassidy, Christian, and Brandon. The food is fine, but very pricey for the amount given. 1/2 Rack(5) of ribs is $17 and a small container of potato salad was $2.00. 6 of us stopped here on our drive back home. We had a dog and sat outside on their patio, benches, order inside at the counter. We got brisket, pulled pork sandwiches on garlic bread with potato salad; a half roasted chicken and baked beans. All of it outstanding: the garlic bread had flavorful yet restrained seasoning piled high with delish very tender pork--so so so damn good--I gobbled all of it. The potato salad was exemplary: not overladen with mayo, with bits of chopped egg and moist. The baked beans with a lovely BBQ smokiness, and the brisket incredibly tender and just as beef should be. The roast chicken was more than decent, though I far preferred the pork and beef. The prices are right, the atmosphere outside perfect. The service incredibly patient. I dithered at the counter, not sure what I wanted, waffling back and forth--the woman at the cash register was super sweet, answering my many questions. read more

I base all my reviews on food and food alone. I got the Tri Tip sandwich and a side of beans for around $12. The sandwich was a bun with exactly 2 slices of Tri tip. The Tri tip was dry and had gristle on the edges so I had to use the fork and knife. The side of beans came in a small cup the size you get to fill up your ketchup at fast food place. In short the Tri tip was really bad for "bbq" place and for how much it was. 2 slices?? Really. If you want the best tri tip sandwich in Cali go to Fire Stone in San Luis Obispo. I know far away but worth the drive. Stay away from the Tri tip at 152 bbq. read more

Stopped by based on reviews. Tried the 3 item combo plate to be able try multiple items. The tri tip was very tender. Best I have ever had!!! My ribs were good. Average at best. Sandwiches come on their garlic bread which is pretty bland. Had the rib sandwich which is supposed to be boneless but had some pretty big pieces of bone still attached. Their tri tip and chicken is pretty good though. Sides are beans, coleslaw or potato salad, all average. They do have some decent beer on tap and good bread pudding. read more

This was the best BBQ I have ever had and I've had a lot of BBQ. There were multiple layers of flavor!!! My mouth was loving every bite. They must do a dry rub and then sauce on top of that because the meat was full of flavor. Most BBQ places seem to just cook the meat and then sauce it up, this place understand how to put layers of flavor in there. Whatever you are doing to that meat please keep doing it! As for the sides I wasn't overly impressed. I like sweater beans so that's just a personal preference and cole slaw I guess I'm pretty picky as well. It's a bit pricey, but name an authentic BBQ place that isn't. Their pulled pork is the best I've had, and they have friendly staff and good beer on tap. What more do you want? Very poor value for child's meat plate - $8. Very, very small portion of meat (toddler sized), one bread, one side and NO drink. Better off just sharing an adult plate among children. Didn't like any of the sides (beans, coleslaw, potato saliad). Heard a table behind us complain about the small portions of meat (for adults). They should weigh out the meat like real BBQ places instead of leaving it up to the kitchen staff to determine portion sizes. Should have complained about the child's plate. read more

I recently returned to try a second sandwich to confirm my first experience. The BBQ pulled pork and tri-tip sandwiches are outstanding. The garlic buttered bread is soft and fresh. The BBQ sauces they offer are tasty and a perfect compliment. The dining room is modest but clean. I believe this place is just in a goofy part of town where they are not going to attract random cliental looking for a quality meal. If they had a bar with some football being telecasted, I'd be there at every opportunity. The food from BBQ 152 blows away anything from Famous Dave's.
