This Memorial Day weekend, a friend from out of state is coming to visit me for the first time in 15 years (She is my old friend who used to live here in LA, and we were very close back then. And, she is coming all the way from out of state to see me after 15 years), and today is Buddha's Birthday. Last year Memorial Day weekend, I took a trip to Murrieta Hot Springs Spa, but this year I decided to stay in LA, hang out with friends, and visit a Buddhist temple. Yesterday, eight of us from our group got together for dinner at Cheongdam Korean BBQ. It's an AYCE (All-You-Can-Eat) BBQ place, and their pricing is structured at $56.99, $41.99, $36.99, and $24.99. We went with the $56.99 option and kept ordering the fresh sirloin and prime short ribs. They also have a self-serve salad bar where you can grab salad, tteokbokki, fried dumplings, japchae, fruit, and more. They had rice wraps (tteok-bossam), which I love--I really enjoy wrapping the meat in the rice wrap, dipping it in sesame oil, and eating it with salad. The quality of the meat was good and tasty, and I was really happy that everything at the salad bar was delicious, too. Also, all the staff members were kind, and the valet parking man in particular, was incredibly friendly, which was great. However, while the staff was friendly and brought us what we asked for, they didn't check on our table very often, and my friends frequently mentioned that this was inconvenient. Usually, Korean restaurants have call bells on the tables, but this place didn't have one. Since there was no bell and the staff rarely came by to check on us, it was quite frustrating. Still, whenever they did come by, they brought exactly what we requested and were very polite. But when they brought the check, they told us that a 20% tip had been automatically charged because we were a large group, which made my group members a bit unhappy. Since the servers didn't check on us frequently and we had to cook all the meat ourselves (since it's AYCE), some members felt the automatic 20% tip was unjustified. One person in our group even said they would never come back here. Despite that, I still enjoyed it. The meat was high quality and delicious, the staff was friendly, and when we ordered steamed eggs, everyone was able to get their own individual serving. Their cold noodles (mul-naengmyeon) were also really good. The only real downside was that they didn't check on us frequently to see if we needed anything. cf) We always split the bill evenly, Yesterday, the people who drank paid $93 each, and the people who didn't drink paid $78 each. Since I don't drink, I paid $78

My cousin and I went. It was great. We both like our meet super crispy especially the brisket LOL and so they left us alone instead of trying to take the meat off of the grill or tell us that it would get overcooked. I said it was really chill and I loved the banchan bar! My cousin and I only ordered the brisket so we can't really say what the other meat quality was but the brisket was delicious and we love that they offered a delicious sesame oil for dipping.

Brisket, onion, kimchi, jalapeño. You know ball if you eat it this way!

Hands down our favorite KBBQ spot! They recently started offering a new $25 special and you get everything listed in the picture, which is honestly such a good deal for the amount and variety. It also includes access to the self-serve salad bar where you can grab onions, garlic, ssamjang (Korean bean paste), and other hot foods. Such a bang for your buck. Our favorites are the brisket, honeycomb black pork, and both the small and large intestines. Pro tip: order a lot at once and order often because this place gets busy and the servers can't always come around as frequently once the rush starts. It's also great for large parties. We basically come here weekly. Come now before this place gets even more packed because word is definitely getting out.

2 stars is me being nice, and that's because I thought that the salad bar was a cool touch. I came on a Tuesday afternoon with friends, we are black and brown people and I feel like we didn't get good service because of that. We had to ask for water when it was just given to everyone else upon arrival. When we wanted to order they kept walking past us, and everything would take a while. The guys energy was just off and not pleasant at all. We did not appreciate being treated differently. The only one that was helpful was a woman, and she came and helped us cook our meat a little bit. The restaurant is big and seats many people, and wasn't crowded when I came. The valet parking is $2. The salad bar had some decent items. The bathroom was clean. Their prices are good, but their food is decent. You get what you pay for. We felt uncomfortable here and would not return .

Tried this all you can eat korean bbq place on a busy weekend and was amazed by their service. They have a bar for fried dumplings, fried rice, corn with cheese, pasta, some fruits, dips for the meats and more. Our server kept coming back to offer us more meats and even changed our grill thrice, She even took our photo in the entrance where they have good backdrop. Valet parking is $3 which is okay, Place could be noisy and crowded but still worth to try.

The wins: Meat quality at a decent price. Cast iron grill where onion and garlic don't fall through Solid self-bar The most attentive service, our Server is Aaron - somebody give the man a raise! Casual dining with good quality food. The mehs: Valet parking only, street parking is difficult Would 100% come back again. Good price. Good food.

No no no. This place made me throw up right away and I got sick after. I would never eat the hot deli food. I believe their ssamjang thats sitting out made me sick. It could also be some other foods, but im sure it wasn't. I see why a lot of people come here. Its 22$ for ayce. The inside is huge and plenty of seats. They even have an extra room for more seating. Im sure it is huge inside bc its "cheap", however. Its really not. You only get a few select meats, beef belly, various pork meats. They charge 1.99 EACH time for steamed egg. What a rip. They don't have some sauces and their meats tasted like its been out of the freezer for a few days. The corn cheese is pathetic here. I can go to 2n1 for 25$ and get all the steamed eggs, soondobu, cheesy donuts and the best corn cheese. So I cant even justify eating here bc its "cheap". I found cheaper with better quality and selections. The star simply bc this place made me throw up and sick. The service was good. They were friendly and attentive.

I came here along time ago when it used to be a diff restaurant I swear there was like a fish pond and everything. But anyway Me and bestie came here for our kbbq fix and you can't go wrong w the price here. The meat quality is actually pretty good. Salad bar was excellent. It kinda reminds me of when you go eat lunch after Sunday service at a Korean church LMAO Anyway we got sat down pretty quick. The place is huge. Meat came out quickly and consistently too. Would def come here again!!

Came around 3:30 on a Friday and it wasn't too busy, which was really nice. Parking was easy! Free during lunch and self-parking in a small lot, but we were still able to find a spot without any trouble. We did the Happy Hour for $22 per person. Jimin was so kind and attentive, and she even went above and cooked the meats for us. All the staff were great and very friendly, which definitely made the experience better. However, we were a little disappointed with the meat quality. It wasn't the best, but I guess it matches the price point. Looking at the other tiers, they definitely seem more on the pricier side. The salad bar was a nice addition though. Not sure if I would necessarily come back, but the price isn't bad and the service was really good.

Idk these pots looking grills take wayyyy too long to cook! We sat there for like 15 minutes and by the time the meat cooked and the water was just sitting there in the pot we were no longer hungry We paid 170 for 3 people on a Sunday! Super pricy for paper cups of water, self servicing our rice and sides and waiters walking around making sure you're not stealing ? Idk but I'd rather keep going to gen! I didn't like this place Also, it's beyond hotter than hell! No AC

They have some very affordable options for when you want AYCE KBBQ. There's an all-day special for $25.99. They also have a happy hour option. There is self serve banchan, fruit, and some hot food choices that you can serve yourself almost buffet style. They even have corn cheese you can get yourself. I love the grill they use. It's like a cast iron where your meat will get extra crispy especially when you're eating food like the large intestine. They have their own parking lot.

    Dining Area

We came here for thanksgiving 2025, last time I was here, it was under a different name, they've remodeled the inside it looks nicer now. The atmosphere is a lot better, There are different level of food you can order where they bring you the meat you choose to grill and they have a section where cooked foods are available (chicken wings, potatoes beef ribs, fried rice, noodles, salads, etc...) Service is friendly and attentive. The dining area is kept clean and presentable. They kept replacing the grill When we asked for the check, we noticed a line where you add a tip amount, but a service charge was included, when we asked the waiter what the service charge was for, he told us that it was a 18% gratuity automatically added to any party over 2 , the menu fine print said that single diner will be charged $10.99 service fee. Kinda sneaky of them to add a separate tip line in case you don't pay attention to the bill, and add a tip There is well lighted parking lot, with valet parking ($3.00)

Friends in LA or visiting soon--still looking for a date-night or Christmas gathering spot that your partner or family won't complain about? Chung Dam LA has you fully covered. The moment you walk in, you'll see a cute, romantic photo spot that's perfect for making a little memory with your partner. Inside, there's a large buffet area with hot dishes, salads, and banchan--great for families with different preferences. Prices are flexible too, ranging from a $22 Happy Hour deal to a $57 luxury all-you-can-eat option. We had to get the Luxury Prime Special after seeing that Omakase-level marbling Our must-orders: prime ribeye, beef short rib, and bone-in short rib. All melt-in-your-mouth and seriously fit for royalty. Cold noodles are also included in the Prime Special--which is rare for AYCE. Both the spicy and non-spicy versions are the traditional Korean way to end a BBQ meal, and it was the perfect finish. IG: socalhkfoodies

The portion sizes are generous so definitely come hungry or you can share as well. I've tried their bossam and jowl combo as well and both are definitely great in their own way, but I absolutely love the minced garlic sauce that comes with the jowl. I really wanted authentic Korean food that was not kbbq and not tofu and this place delivered! This restaurant is in a small strip mall. The strip mall has other Korean food options. They have a valet parking system of sorts but we didn't pay, we self parked. The attendant told us we were fine. It was approx 9pm when we arrived and also a week night. I have no idea how much valet parking is here. We were a small party of two. Upon arrival, we were notified they were out of RICE. Um..what?? That's a good problem (for them to have) but not for consumers. I feel this really limited our options to just soup. I honestly didn't want soup but there wasn't much else we could order. The bowls were large and came out piping hot. It was a satisfying meal and not too heavy. The price point was on the pricey side. Our waiter told us business has not been the same post covid. Some dishes are between $40-$60. I asked for a soup and they were able to make it less spicy. My friend got a soup with dumplings in it. He put a good amount of soy sauce to give the broth some life. Also, the banchan is on point. We asked for a refill and devoured the second portions. If you wanna impress friends with Korean food, bring them here! Its a casual place.

For instance, I think the acorn side salad is absolutely delicious and saucy while the seasoned soybean paste is full of flavor and perfect with the barley rice. For the pricing, it feels like a steal. And has been consistent ever since I first had it back a few years ago. We've taken to go boxes each time I've went because it's so filling. Totally recommended!

In fact, we regularly brought visitors here. They raved about how good the spare ribs were and even insisted that their last meal before LA should be at Ham Ji Park.  Here's my belated review of what I consider the best spare ribs in LA. From the moment the Korean-style spare ribs arrived at the table, it was clear this was a dish worth savoring. Each rib bore a beautifully charred exterior--deeply caramelized without a hint of bitterness--offering that irresistible smoky aroma the moment it was placed before us. The glaze was nothing short of spectacular. A perfect balance of sweet and spicy, it clung to the meat with a glossy sheen that promised flavor in every bite. There was just enough heat to make your taste buds sit up and pay attention, but it never overwhelmed the deeper, richer notes of the sweet components. But what truly set these ribs apart was the texture. Beneath the charred surface lay meat so tender it practically fell off the bone with the gentlest tug of a fork. Each bite was juicy and succulent, the result of careful cooking and a respect for quality ingredients. Ham Ji Park, you will be missed. Thank you for the memories. Thank you for the food.

If you're searching for some of the city's best pork, then those in the know will bring up Ham Ji Park. For 2 decades, generous platters of pork ribs and pork neck stew decked every table. Now, our Korean friends lament the loss of their favorite pork joint in the city. The Koreatown proper location is located in the Royal Plaza mini-mall, just a few blocks off bustling Wilshire. Discounted parking is available in a lot across the street from the Chevron gas station. From the street, the entrance is flanked by potted plants and an enclosed street-ery. Inside, stainless steel chairs are pressed up against wooden tables, each outfitted with a metal grill. Oppressive fluorescent lighting shines down on the stone grey walls, which are left undecorated apart from a few flatscreens. Multi-lingual chatter blends with the sizzle of platters. I visited with some friends for a weeknight dinner, and about half of the tables were occupied. We shared a spread of grilled platters and sizzling soups. The meal began with a carafe of barley tea and a mostly standard spread of banchan. Across our food, the best dish was the signature Charbroiled Pork Spare Rib. The ribs were flavorful without feeling gamey, and the meat was complemented by sweet caramelized onions. The pork ribs handily outdid the good-not-great Charbroiled Beef Short Rib. Lastly, the Milt and Cod Rose with Vegetables stew was fishy and briny, appropriately flavored for the Korean palate. The service was appropriately attentive, although I would've appreciated more intentional refills of our banchan ramikens. The rib plates cost upward of $35 each, while the soup was just under $30. The portions were hearty; a single entree platter could reasonably feed 2 moderately hungry bellies. It's a shame to hear that Ham Ji Park has closed; I'm kicking myself for not trying their pork neck stew earlier.
