Hands down the BEST charcoal grill KBBQ place I've been in the US. The marinated galbi here truly hits the spot. The meat is tender and juicy, you can definitely tell that it's high quality. The sweet and savory marinate goes amazingly well with the smoky charcoal flavor. The service is also good. I chose "no spicy" but they top off the dish with some sort of spicy sauce. Don't get me wrong, it's a very good sauce, but has a spicy kick. Now the wings, JUMBO af. Lol, I love it! Honey garlic is my fave flavor. The sweet & spicy is not bad, but for you heat lovers, it's like a level 1 spicy. I will say the banchan dishes missed the mark for me. I've ordered here 3-4 times, and they rarely ever hit. The kimchi had a weird taste. The fish cakes were "stiff", and tasted old. I came to pick up once and the server was friendly and efficient. The interior looks like your old school traditional KBBQ place. Decorated for the holidays, along with your service push buttons. I do want to come back one day to try the other dishes. My wife and I tried this restaurant on a lark. We were originally planning on eating at Hellowingz, but they were closed for renovations, and luckily this place was in the same strip mall! We ordered soju, bibimbap, and dry aged beef, and it was an order worth repeating! We will definitely be coming back here again when we get the craving for Korean barbecue! The service was also great. The staff gave helpful suggestions, and the wait was not long. It was moderately spicy with a nice savory flavor with egg and fish cake...drizzle the sauce over rice and it is ABSOLUTELY delicious. Beef dolsot 5/5 They asked whether we wanted spicy or not and we opted for no spice but it was still soo fulfilling. They put ample amount of beef slices and it tasted fresh with a sweet soy flavor. Mix in the banchans and it is a flavor BOMB / bibimbap haha! Their side dishes are not to be missed: we were offered potatos, sesame oil brocoli, lettuce kimchi, cucumber kimchi, sweet soy fish cake, and jeon. All got refilled twice! So great!!!! For desert shikhye (rice water) was offered and it was really refreshing! The atmosphere was really chill. We went on a saturday night and thankfully they opened until midnight!! We sat in a table where we could pull sliding doors and my sister and I enjoyed our time eating without other people looking haha. I have really been on a Korean barbecue kick lately (you can't eat tacos everyday) so doing my research through Yelp, I found this place that a lot of people had been talking about, and boy, the positive reviews were correct. An older place, with not much in the way of decor, but they have the live coal grill which makes this place unique and special since the live coals does add to the flavor and experience. I've enjoyed the meats and the banchan selections with my favorite being the pork bulgogi and the beef bulgogi.... Okay and also the Galbi .... and the rib fingers... Geez, it was all pretty good. The food and service was good. We didn't have issues finding a parking spot and we were seated right away. The meats and sides filled us up and we still had left overs. The sides are free to refill which is a bonus. The seafood pancake was decent but I've had better at other KBBQ spots. I was expecting a clean and flavorful taste but there was a slight "ocean" taste to it. We walked in and were greeted and ushered to a table. We ordered the Galbi meal which came with rice, choice of soup, 3 types of meat and banchan. All the meat was very tender and easy to eat. Love coming here because of their charcoal grill style. So wear clothes you wouldn't mind smelling like smoked meat. Love getting the galbi, pork belly, seafood pancake, and kimchi fried rice. One order portions of each are great for 3 people to share and be full. They also have soju and beer options to choose from. Banchan is unlimited refills too. Great place to go with friends and family. The fried chicken texture is good but we prefer seasoning inside the meat instead of having to sprinkle outside. A little hole in the wall place but definitely consider it one of the best Korean restaurants in the area, without being overpriced. The service was excellent, food was delicious, they also use charcoal instead of the gas grill which is really nice. For our leftover meat, they even vacuum sealed and put ice packs with it. My family had dinner here last night. Probably our 3rd or 4th time here. Our 2nd favorite Korean BBQ restaurant in Houston. This place is all about the food. Not a very fancy setting. They use real charcoal which adds great flavor to the grilled meats. The service was very good. We had three types of meat: Dry aged rib-eye filets - 5/5: They have limited supplies of this but if they have it, I highly recommend it. Great meat flavor and very tender. I would ask for a side of salt to just season a bit while on the grill. Fresh Galbi (unmarinated short rib) - 4/5: Very good, just not as good as the first item. Pork Belly - 3/5: Okay but thought the two beef meats were much better. The meal came with steamed egg (4/5), soybean stew (5/5) and decent amount of banchan (side dishes overall 3/5 to 4/5). BBQ Garden is not as fancy as Bori, but if you just want good food (and at a more reasonable budget), can't go wrong with this place. We'll be back. read more

Hidden gem! We got the BBQ Garden Combo $99.99 that serves 3-4 people. There is 4 of us and it was PLENTY enough! We got the beef and pork briskets, pork belly, bulgogi, shrimp, and chicken. It also came with seafood pancake (missing in the pic) and unlimited refill of sides. They give you sesame oil and soybean paste for sauce. Everything tasted really good! We tried their green apple yogurt soju and it tasted great and refreshing! They can customized the yogurt soju flavor of your choice. You can get a free Chocovani dessert if you do a yelp or facebook review. The service was also fast and friendly. They have tables in the middle and sections on the side for more privacy. Overall this place is a 10/10 would recommend! :) read more

Located in a slightly run down strip center and near where Choongman Chicken used to be at. Parking is available out front; the area is slightly sketchy looking and definitely an older area of town. The exterior sign of the restaurant looks its age and could definitely use a refresh. The interior of the restaurant is definitely of an older and dated interior that reminds me of the early 2000's. There were private BBQ rooms indoors with tables in an open area in the middle. Their suction fan is extremely loud, which is really a bummer because it's difficult to talk at a normal noise level in a group conversation. We ordered their aged beef, beef rib meat, beef tongue, and pork belly. Their prices are a bit higher since it's not an AYCE setting so we expected the meat quality to be better than what you would find at an AYCE spot. We also tried out their honey garlic and sweet and spicy fried chicken wings. Meats are served a la carte and they do have some combos available although we decided to order things we like separately. The aged beef was quite tender and delicious. The rib finger meat was a bit meh and their pork belly was disappointing; the meat didn't look like center cut belly and for the price, that's what you would expect. Their banchan is alright; the kimchi is good, their fish tofu strips were bland, and overall I'd say is below some AYCE spots unfortunately. Their chicken wings were also pretty interesting; they served the wing with the wingtip attached; this made it extremely difficult to eat without causing a huge, saucy, mess. The sweet and spicy sauce is definitely a step above the slightly bland honey garlic sauce. At this price point, the dishes are definitely more affordable than an unnamed nearby competitor but overall meat quality, banchan, and ambiance is also a step below. The service is good and they do offer to help you cook if you wish, which is a plus. However, compared to our favorite AYCE spot, the quality and value aren't quite here and compared to our favorite a la carte spot, it doesn't quite compare at a similar price point. read more
