Wow, such friendly staff! Looking forward to making the Saloon our regular place. Turns out there's trivia on Thursday nights, but we were able to getting seating in the bar. Big drinks menu and a reasonably sized bites menu. Looking forward to trying more as we visit. Single Rib: Incredibly tender and tasty! Comes with a side of bbq sauce. Really hits the spot! Beef T-Ravs: Decent amount of shredded beef and comes with BBQ sauce and ranch. Made the mistake of popping one of these into my mouth whole... It was hot! Pork Steak: Knife provided, but not needed. Generous portion of mouth-melting pork and BBQ sauce. Came with two sides; we chose fries and coleslaw.

Ok buckle up, because this is one of the unique reviews I've penned in awhile. And I really hope the owner reads this. My friends and I were in St. Louis last weekend for the two Metallica concerts. Absolute bucket list, both shows were incredible. We stayed in the Central West End and BBQ Saloon was a few blocks from our hotel. We walked by a handful of times, but never ventured in. Turns out the dive bar a half block away we went to a few times was closed. Well, we were still riding high after the concert and we wanted to grab one more without the night coming to a close. What to do, what to do? As we approached BBQ Saloon (it looked closed), the owner walked out and said, "We're closed, but we're drinking," and welcomed us in with open arms. Was this...destiny? Quite possibly. We sat at the bar, the owner Phil turned the TV's back on, and asked what we were drinking. A beer for the friend on my left, a whiskey for the friend to my right and a classic American Bud Heavy for me. $21 for the three? In this economy? He could've charged us triple since we essentially reopened his bar. I'm not going to go into painstaking detail about our lengthy conversation, but this guy is a person who's meant to talk to people over a drink. Turns out he was a world champion bodybuilder in a previous life and had some fascinating stories to share with us bar rats. Our flights were less than 12 hours away. But before we decided it was quitting time I asked, "By the way, how's the food here? I'll have to try it next time I'm in town." He said it was damn good, and was disappointed we couldn't come back for lunch tomorrow before we departed. Then he goes, "Stay right there." He proceeds to walk into the kitchen and seconds later, returns with a dinosaur-sized rack of ribs wrapped in plastic wrap. I kid you not, a FULL RACK OF RIBS. He then tells me how to prepare them for when I return home. Obviously I'm ecstatic at this gesture. I asked how much I owed him. He said, "This one's on me." I said don't be ridiculous, that's completely unnecessary. We reopened your bar for god's sake. He replied, "Please I insist, I enjoyed talking with you guys." IF THIS ISN'T 5-STAR HOSPITALITY I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS. So there we were. The three of us who already had one of the most amazing nights of our lives, only one-upped by Phil the bar owner who handed us a full rack of ribs at 1:30am. Has this happened to you? I promise you it hasn't. Considering I packed those ribs in my suitcase and they made it all the way back to Denver, I was honestly surprised they tasted as good as they did. He said they do a true STL-style rib. I can't deny how meaty and savory those ribs were. Thank you Phil for the engaging conversation and world class hospitality. I will never forget BBQ Saloon in St. Louis, Missouri.

Just stopped in for a quick dinner, no drinks. Had the pork steak which could have used a thicker sauce, just my preference. Was so juicy and tinder, but not fall off the bone. Came with 2 sides, I chose pickled veggies and fries. Wouldn't get the veggies again.

I came here for happy hour and an early dinner and enjoyed my time! This saloon was about a block from my apartment, so it was convenient to walk there and grab a seat at the bar. The bartender was attentive, and since it was a slow afternoon, the music at the place was more modern than your typical saloon. It was more like bar music, which I didn't mind and enjoyed. What I ordered for Moi: -Mac-n-bacon bites for appetizer -two brisket sliders (it is just sliders, and for me, it's overpriced for what you get, but it was delicious) -single bone STL ribs (you buy by piece) -drinks: Kona and the HH Moscow mule

While in STL last Thursday we stopped in after some appointments to give this place a shot and were not disappointed with the food. The restaurant is pretty unique in its layout and has a crazy large selection of whiskey! It was not overly crowded or a rush time but service was still a bit too slow and it became noticeable that multiple groups around us were frustrated and one group even walked out. I take this type of service as maybe a one-off bad day but it was poor enough to cost it an extra star for me!

Hit up this place for the first time and loved it. Had some Old Fashioneds which were divine. Started with the candied bacon as an appetizer (because...bacon). It could have been thicker pieces (seemed to be your run of the mill grocery store bacon), but it was soooo good. I had the brisket sliders and bourbon baked beans, but of which were super yum. The hubs had the 20oz pork steak which he inhaled as well as the fries and pickled veggies. All were really good. The menu isn't long and overwhelming, which we appreciate. Nothing is really "award winning" here, but it's all really good for the prices. We'll add this place to our rotation of places to eat.

Service was slow but overall very friendly. Forgot my order of Mac N Cheese so I was kinda disappointed and they also didn't have ribs which was a bummer

Come for the drinks and atmosphere... pass on the food. Went to BBQ Saloon during happy hour on a Thursday night and grabbed a table in the room on the side. The happy hour specials were pretty good and everyone in our party was happy with their drinks. The bartenders were doing a great job of keeping up with the patrons and you didn't have to wait at all to place an order. Around 7:00 PM the room we were in started to fill up for trivia night which started at 7:30 so we decided to stay. Trivia consisted of 5, 10-question rounds and the questions were diverse and ranged from easy to quite challenging. Overall it was a fun experience. It looked like many of the tables around us were reserved for trivia by regulars so you may have to come early if you want to snag a spot. Since we stayed we ordered food as well. Food was ordered near the bar as they didn't have staff waiting on the tables. The fries and Mac and cheese were just okay and the chicken tenders were were nothing special. Overall I would probably just come for drinks and trivia and pass on the food.

What a wonderful place to stop in for a drink and a bite to eat!! Sarah and Phil always make us feel welcome and valued! The food is fabulous and the drinks incredible. The atmosphere is comfortable and we highly highly recommend the BBQ Saloon!

Water jugs...they like to tease you and make you believe they're bringing you a whole bottle of booze...but nope, it's just water, lol!

Love, love, love this place!!! Actually, don't know if I should even post about this place, as it is a neighborhood gem, like Brennan's. Come here for the drinks and the biggest selection of whiskey in the region, leave absolutely loving the food as well!!! My new favorite place to watch my college team play on Saturdays...and brunch is back!!! And they do their bottomless mimosas right! Champaign with a splash of OJ. (Check the pic). Check out Mike and the owner, Phil....awesome guys! Will always

The bouncer was super nice and he actually walked me all the way in. our waitress was also very nice and attentive. It was not busy when we were there and we had reservations for a group of six, which is apparently the most you can have on a reservation. We were there to celebrate a friend's birthday and everyone got a variety of drinks from the cocktail menu. I got their version of the whiskey sour with the cherry froth on top and it was so good. The waitress said it is the most popular and I can see why I really enjoyed it and would've ordered more if it wasn't so expensive for one drink the table, got a variety of the small bites such as the cheese and the Barada. They also got some bread which looked awesome. I did not try personally, but it looked very impressive. the atmosphere is dark and mysterious. It smelled good and felt fancy. The decor is very tasteful and makes you feel like you are truly in a speakeasy. The location is outstanding with it being near the foundry. We showed up without a reservation, which I wouldn't necessarily recommend. We were initially told the wait would probably be around an hour and a half, so reservations are definitely a good idea. Somehow, we got super lucky and received a text that they were ready for us only about 10 or 15 minutes later. We ended up sitting at the bar, which honestly made the experience even better. If you enjoy watching bartenders work their magic, I highly recommend sitting there if you get the chance. The cocktails here are unlike anything we've had before, and it was so much fun watching all the different drinks being made and seeing the creativity that goes into each one. Our bartender, John, was amazing. He was incredibly personable, answered all of our questions, and was genuinely enjoyable to talk to throughout the evening. Between the two of us, we tried four cocktails. I started with the Linea Uno and asked John if he could make it less bitter after the woman sitting next to me mentioned that was an option. It was delicious, although I apparently didn't pay enough attention to the menu when ordering because it was tequila-based, and tequila normally isn't my first choice. The Trade Winds was one of the coolest drinks of the night, made with clarified rum, apricot, and coconut and topped with mango air. The mango air literally looked like bubbles but smelled like mango. Such a unique presentation, and the drink itself was really enjoyable. My husband tried the New York Whiskey Sour, made with clarified whiskey, yuzu, tart cherry, and black lime cordial with a red wine foam. Again, the presentation was beautiful, and it tasted just as good as it looked. My personal favorite was Ankra's Passion Fruit Martini, made with vodka, vanilla, passion fruit, lime, and bubbles. It came with a small glass of champagne on the side, which was a really nice touch. John mentioned that I could drink the champagne separately or add it to the martini as I went. I ended up pouring some into the cocktail, and for me, it balanced out the sweetness of the passion fruit perfectly. The entire speakeasy experience was just fun, from trying to find the entrance to making our way inside and finally settling in at the bar. We took plenty of pictures and videos along the way, but I'm intentionally not posting most of them because I don't want to ruin the surprise for anyone visiting for the first time. I will share a picture of the red light you need to look for at The Foundry since we initially had a little trouble figuring out where to go, along with some photos of our drinks. The rest of the journey inside is something I think you should experience for yourself. Creative cocktails, beautiful presentations, a genuinely fun atmosphere, and fantastic service from John made this an easy five-star experience for us. If you're visiting The Foundry and enjoy unique cocktails and hidden speakeasies, None of the Above is absolutely worth finding. Just learn from us and make a reservation. We got very lucky!

"Small", and I"m going to feel weird saying this... "Romantic Horrorfest". Wait, before you go "wha??", this isnt' necessarily a bad thing. The Taxidermy , the photos on the wall. the fireplace. the VERY (and I mean VERY) dim lighting... The limited seating on the main floor, the one door in and out it had a "wooden cabin feel".. Yes, if you had a wonderful romantic film and it was suddenly invaded by some monster villain... This where it would take place and it would be perfect. (See I can find positive things to say about things i wasn't looking for) As for the service, apparently (going back to the Romantic filmfest), I was struggling to get any attention for the bartendress, cause I guess I was solo'ing by myself, and because of how I wasn't able to get the bartendress attention... I kinda felt like an unwanted customer in a place more for couples or friends getting together which had me leaving shortly thereafter, so no real food score (although I will say, much like Oh London ,the menu wasn't really much to work through...), Anyway, no TV's, no world cup game on the air.. just like I said a vibe of a cabin in a "romantic movie, where the monsters lurk". And Apologies for some of the iffy pictures, it just didn't feel right using a flash on the camera in such a secluded locale) and like I said, it wasnt' what I was expecting (rowdy British fans watching the local club or something), but there's something about it that even i have to admit, would make this location a nice "date night" or "out with friends' location, more so than just a single person looking for a nightcap. (And Maybe there really is a monster hiding in the fireplace, to keep the "Horror" feel going?? :)

A casual vibe, great place for beer and a group happy hour…read more Every time I come here I am amazed at how much fun it is and what a great draft selection they have. Walk in and there are plenty of tables, a couple of gathering areas, standing room narrow tables, an outdoor area, and a room off to the side. I went for the Logboat Dark Matter which I have had before in a can and wanted to try on draft. I enjoyed it very much. You know what is great?! Since they don't have food, you can bring it in yourself. Both times our group has met up here Katie's Pizza is the choice and its in the same parking lot. You can't go wrong with Katie's. Bartender is on the ball and friendly, TV's all around, not too loud so you can talk. Wednesday nights they have Trivia and I stayed for the first round, it was very current for the current event category. Get a pizza from Katie's, go here, have a beer, have fun!

We had 10 and we were able to sit around the long stationary table in the middle of the room. Global Brew Tap House does not charge for the event room. They ask for reservations and for the attendees to patronize the bar. Perfect for a meeting or a book club. I had a couple of beers. Wide selection of local and popular craft beers . Bartender was friendly and offered to keep a tab. Lots of parking. Loved this place!
