Made a quick stop in here because everyone has been raving about this place. Wow... So I just ordered to go the brisket and ribs. The brisket was amazing, probably the best I have had in awhile; moist, tasty and had just the right amount of smoke plus a beautiful smoke ring. The ribs again were almost as good as the brisket. You definitely need to stop in and check them out. Plus the folks behind the counter were very friendly. When these guys first opened they couldn't keep up with the demand, they closed early because the ran out of food. I was craving for a hearty bbq meal. I was also planning to order a beer to go with my food because what else goes well with BBQ food, right? As I was ordering my food at the counter, I kindly asked the server if they also serve beer. His answer was, "yes, but we don't serve anything to go, so we can't pack beer to go." Me lol and shocked the kid even jumped to assumptions, "dang. I know Im an alcoholic but I was hoping you guys serve beers here while I enjoy my food." The person behind me chuckled and the lady in front of my laughed so hard she couldn't contain herself. The kid was of course very apologetic and embarrassed afterwards. So just in case you didnt know, now you know, THEY DO NOT DO BEER TAKEOUT, only food. The brisket was very tender and great. The macaroni tasted similar to what you'd get from KFC. As a former Central Texas person (who travels back very, very often), this place is pretty legit, and I try to-go weekly. You might find their BBQ sauce a little sweet and their brisket sliced a little thick if you are from TX, but otherwise it has been great. Potato salad is spot on, the smoked is everything is pretty dang good. Sides are legit. They even serve Big Red. Tip: Do not try to online order on holidays, because online ordering will be unavailable, even Super Bowl. I will say, the only downside I have run into is that they recently changed how they priced their personalized trays. After coming here for a year, I have ordered pretty much the same thing weekly, a $13.99 Lone Star Tray. The Lone Star tray, Texas tray and Texas Trinity tray used to be a flat rate price-- meat is now by the pound, even on trays, so prices depend on what you want on the tray. They did not explain the changes well or even try to help me figure out what the equivalent of what I had been ordering weekly for the past year would be per pound (ya know, so I could actually order my same order), which after my own research, had been 1/2 pound brisket. Left with a bit of bad taste in my mouth after our last interaction, because he was kinda rude to me about it. I am not sure if I am going to be back, because while I do loooove BBQ, I do not like it well enough to pay premium price to feel like a burden to management when I am trying to understand recent changes to their pricing. Oh my wow, they did it! They nailed the brisket that I've been searching for since I was a kid. The smoky lean brisket that my dad used to make. Brought me to tears it was perfect! The pork ribs have such a moist smoky flavor, they pull right off the bone. The smoked turkey is fabulous, the sausage links have a little kick to them but it's just added flavor, my 8 yr old loves hem and she doesn't do spicy. Finally, a place with good okra around here! Having spent every summer in TX as a kid, okra is one of my comfort foods that I rarely find in these parts of the U.S. Potato salad is good, tastes homemade. Mac n cheese is very creamy....not your typical Kraft version. The banana pudding is just like what you could make at home without having to do clean up. Bravo BBQ2U! Well done! Decided to come here and grab take out lunch for my wife and I. We've always wanted to try the place but also read some of the reviews and was a bit skeptical but figured some of the reviews were a bit dated. The inside of the restaurant is small; but with COVID-19, they've got all the tables and chairs put away. *The staff is genuinely friendly. I'm not saying this to gain brownie points but I will say that walking into the restaurant and the way they greet you is like greeting an old friend. Menu is simple; broken down to your major meats-Beef, pork, chicken and turkey. Sides are your "usual suspects"-mac n cheese, baked beans, friend okra, fried pickles, fries, potato salad, etc. Their desserts were a Banana pudding and pecan pie. For this review, we'll do the Mac n Meat and the BBQ Boat. When I was ordering I asked the dude at the counter about size difference between the mini and medium so he was kind enough to show me-Medium it is! Since I myself was getting the boat, the Mac n Meat (sorry no picture) was for my wife but these guys shaved off a small portion of brisket for me to try. Man! That was mouth watering! Didn't taste the Mac and cheese but my wife did say it was good. Got the BBQ Boat; did not disappoint! The pulled pork was moist and flavorful; the beans were cooked nice and slightly sweet. The sausage (you have the option of original or jalapeño cheddar-went original in this case) was a nice addition with a hint of spice and the potato salad was a nice match to it. Would be nice to swap it with brisket though but it's all good. Now for dessert: I'm not a banana pudding kinda guy so I can't say how it tasted-I can say it looked freshly made and I take my wife's word that it was delicious. I myself had the pecan pie and was pleased that it was fresh and not bland. Definitely good ending to good BBQ lunch. Service and Lobby Experience: The lobby is very clean and open. It is clear where the line should begin and they have a menu placed there so you can think about what you'd like to order before you get to the front. If you still aren't sure, the staff is extremely friendly and takes the time to explain the different options on the menu. They will also show you the cut of meat before they plate it so you can see exactly what you're getting. I was a little bit unsure of what I wanted to get and the staff suggested the spare ribs which were great. Food Experience: As I mentioned before, I got the Texas plate with 3 spare ribs, potato salad and mac and cheese. The spare ribs were amazing, very simple seasoning which really allowed the meat to shine. My dad also did a Texas plate with brisket, mac and cheese, and fried okra. He also ordered a beef rib ala carte. Everything was cut to order which was nice because you were able to pick which side of the brisket you'd like (he opted for the wet side) or how meaty you'd like your ribs to be. Overall Experience: We really enjoyed everything about our visit to BBQ2U and plan to come again the next time a Texas BBQ craving hits. This place is fantastic. We kept hearing about how they support their community, promoting local kids sports and local authors. I wanted to try to support them for that reason. The brisket was tender and almost falling apart with a great dry rub, the chicken perfect. Sides were all spot on. Very good food, clean, not a lot of grease or fat. Very good sauce, not too spicy or sweet. We got the family tray for 3 adults with big appetites and a kid. At first I wasnt' sure if the portions were big enough but we could barely eat it all. $10 each not counting the kid. That's a good deal. But next time I'll get extra sides just for the leftovers. No need to call in the order, bc the service is like fast food. Great food, portions, bargain, service and good people that we want to support. That's worth 5 stars. read more

The brisket literally melts in your mouth. I have yet to try most of the other meats, but my husband had the chicken the other night and loved it. I had shied away from the chicken thighs because I imagined tiny bone-in pieces, but these were big, meaty, boneless pieces. It looked delicious! Tried fried okra for the first time - and it was really tasty. It had a nice seasoning, and perfect amount of saltiness. The kids are always happy with the mac & cheese and a bag of chips.
