So sad to see the drastic decline in this spot since opening not too long ago. We have 4 small kids and were very excited that a local place with a great outdoor seating option had opened close-by to where we live. I remember our first visit shortly after they opened and immediately noticed how well kept and clean it was when we stepped inside. We were thrilled when a friendly staff and delicious food followed our first few experiences! Welp in the past 2 months, that is no longer the case! It's filthy (tables not wiped, high chairs crusty with previous childrens slobber, bathrooms YIKES). And the food, sigh. The salads have been rotten for the past month. I very politely on one occasion nonchalantly approached the staff to point out that my salad was slimy and smelly, and I even made sure to whisper so that the couple ordering didn't hear my complaint. Sadly, the Asian chick at the register couldn't have been more rude and never once apologized. I was actually the one profusely apologizing and not sure why, seeing I had no reason to be. After waiting 10 mins for a new salad, she hands it to me again with no apologies and simply said, "Here, that's as fresh as it will get!" Wait, wahh? I was in shock. We do/did frequent here at least once a week because of the kids but even tonight we got take out and clearly hadn't learned my lesson not to order the salad because it had a foul odor, I had to spit out my first bite of a rotten tomato. Im so turned off and just utterly disappointed all around. Notnto mentioned they forgot of dressings for the chicken, but I guess we should have double-checked before leaving. Stopped in for lunch yesterday on my way home from an appointment and walked in to an empty restaurant around 2pm. Dining room was clean. Staff was friendly. Food came out about 15 mins later. I ordered the chicken tenders combo with French fries and a sweet tea. I filled my cup with half sweet and half unsweet tea. Took a sip and the amount of sugar in the tea was crazy! They need to cut back on the sugar in their tea. Took a bite of the chicken without sauce. It was ok. Not freshly cooked. They weren't hot. Chicken was a little over cooked and tough. Flavor was ok. I got the Ranch sauce as well as the Hot White Buffalo Ranch. Both sauces were fresh and tasted homemade. I loved both! The French fries were dark on the outside. Not sure why. Maybe the frying grease ? They were soft so I know they weren't burnt. They tasted good. Dip them in the Ranch sauce . I had no issue with the flavor or texture. I love soft French fries. Really wanted to like this place. You can sit down at the table and order via the QR code. The directions say they will bring your order to you...but they don't. They'll instead yell your name and leave your order on the front counter for you to get. While they have shakes on the menu, they don't actually have a milkshake machine yet so you can't order any milkshakes. The chicken tasted like chicken. No flavor. No seasoning. Just chicken. The tots were cold. A little disappointing considering the owner is an award winning chef, right? Listen, I'd go back one more time and try something different on the menu but if it that too lacks flavor and they don't have a milkshake machine then that's it - I'm done! read more

Yesterday, while in the area holiday shopping, the family and I were hungry for something relatively quick but also delish so we stopped back in to BB's Crispy Chicken to order lunch. FOOD: Pimento Please (chix sandwich with fresh pimento cheese), order of cheese curds and order of tenders with buttermilk ranch, southwest ranch and mayo sauces. The chicken at BB's is quality stuff. Thick, juicy and breaded just right. Each time I've been here, I'm impressed with the chicken, itself and the sauces. The tenders were just as good, the curds were slightly better than last time and the Pimento Please sandwich was good. The pimento cheese is piled onto the sandwich, and if I were to make a suggestion, I'd put half of the amount of pimento cheese on the sandwich since it is fresh cheese and has a powerful flavor on it's own. I ended up removing about half of the topped pimento cheese just so I could taste the quality of the chicken. This would make the sandwich taste better, and it would save BB's on costs. This is the one time I make an exception and say that it simply had too much cheese on it. Still can't believe I said that. SCORE: 4.1 STARS!! SERVICE: Nothing crazy good but also not bad either. It was as simple as placing the order, grabbing a vibrating notification stick and waiting for it to be delivered on the counter. There was very, and I mean very, little interaction with the young lady taking our order. Everything seemed to be in order for your average, 3-star rating until we went over to the beverage bar, where there was a massive spill on the floor, that I'm going to assume had been there for awhile due to how sticky the floor was becoming. People were finessing their way around the mess but it didn't seem like it was an urgent matter for the staff. Cleanliness is next to Godliness. SCORE: 2.3 STARS! Hoo boy...I love a good fried chicken sandwich but I'm not sure this is the place. I ordered the Nashville hot and I've had bananas spicier than this. It seemed like the chicken was fried two days ago and then re-fried for my order. Also, to get toppings, they're ala cart...$.50 for lettuce, mayo, tomato, etc. The piece of chicken they used for the sandwich seemed to be a roughly cut breast and it sat awkwardly in the bun. The brioche bun is nice and buttered, though. I will say the fries are excellent and the restaurant has a nice outdoor patio for seating. Try this place, if you have to, but I'd recommend going elsewhere. read more

Absolutely LOVED this place! Anna, the store manager was very friendly. Because it was our first time, she let us try all the sauces for free. I ordered the classic chicken sandwich and my boyfriend ordered the BBQ Cheddar chicken sandwich and then we both shared the Triple play trio, which consisted of french fries, sweet potato fries and the cheese curds. Here are my thoughts... i love the sauces! Except the scorpion red fire (of course) because it was too spicy. I wish they had combos because i do think paying everything separately is overpriced. Our total came to $34 when all we ordered was two sandwiches, one order of fries and two fountain drinks. The food was delicious nonetheless, i would pass on the cheese curds - just me as i never really cared for them. The place itself is humongous, it gives very much up-UP scale Shake Shack with outdoor seating and games on the patio. I feel as though they put alot of money and effort into the store itself instead of adding more variety to the menu and incorporating a drive thru. I feel like that would have been more beneficial but i do understand what they were going for. I'm trying hard to like this place. Service & ambiance are fine- people are super friendly & helpful, no issues there. I find the crispy chicken to be very hard to eat. It's thick & hard (beyond "crispy") & doesn't leave me anticipating my next bite. Today's sandwich was super fresh, as they were just opening when I arrived, but the interior of that batter was mushy, I guess undercooked? Chicken meat was cooked just fine. However, the flavor is not wowing me. Pickles are delicious & plentiful on my sandwich. If the slaw were a little sweeter I'd love that on the sandwich to counter the pickles and salty bbq sauce but when I tried the slaw in Durham it was not my style (I prefer very slightly sweet) so I didn't order it again. Maple pumpkin shake is delicious. Rich - but that's a shake. I seldom order shakes but if I do, it's to dip fries in them. I prefer not to do that with this meal for whatever reason after the first 2 fries. Bbq sauce is my go-to at any place, but the BB's version is just too salty (for me) so I should select a different sauce with a little more of a sweet element for a tang I'm after. There are many choices, I just don't know what they are like until I try them. User error. Fries are fine. But I'm not enjoying them. They are tough. Are they battered? Does that keep flavor from coming through? I'm just not getting an amazing potato flavor. Fries are my weakness so this is saying a lot. I suspect there are many people out there who might love this place. I like to see new restaurants do well, but I think I'm done trying to like/support BB's. After reading the reviews of other sandwiches, I thought maybe I'd have something to look forward to. I was wrong. I asked the cashier if it had pimento on it and she, with the same glove she used to handle money, checked for me. The chicken itself was moist, but I wound compare the breading to more of a Friday night church fish-fry breading. Absolutely no flavor or seasoning at all. The side salad was an average side salad and the ranch cup I got was only about 1/3 full. So, not really enough to make it worth the salad. My cheese curds were good. Not anything original, but good. It was also disappointing that you couldn't give your table # for a table at the beer garden if paying cash. You can only have your food delivered to you if paying by card. We've ordered BB's Crispy Chicken twice and really enjoyed our first order; we tried the Nashville hot tenders which were amazing. We loved the spicy flavor of them and they were very tasty. The second time we ordered, we tried the crispy chicken breast but it did not meet up to our expectations. It lacked flavor although the chicken was very crispy and fresh. Not bad. Chicken is similar to what I make at home. Meaning it is fresh and tastes homemade. Bland like my own cooking to be honest. There is nothing wrong with the chicken, however like I said I can make it at home. There is nothing unique that would make me want to come back or crave it. Waffles fries, tots are mediocre but nothing to write home about. The best thing that stood out to me were the pickles in my classic chicken sandwich. The nuggets and tenders kids liked but they prefer chic fil a. Spent about 42 dollar for a family of 4, no drinks. Music is too loud and service seems a bit slow for not many people being there. This place should survive for at least 2 years since it has a nice outdoor patio and rose comb beer next door. I don't know what took so long during construction as the place seems plain and simple. In conclusion, get chic-fil-a which is about 1000 feet away. read more

Keep going back, hoping it was as amazing as it was when it first opened. Sadly, it is not for some reason. This place was my favorite by far and I would drive to the Raleigh one before the Cary one opened. I keep going back, but it has been a hot mess for the past six months. Tonight I have given up and it was my last time going there. The place was unkept, looked dirty, and on the food bar by the kitchen somebody's purse was just laying there. Very unsanitary. The inconsistency of the sandwich, the chicken, the french fries and the sauces are disappointing. Tonight my sauce even tasted spoiled. We will continue to support all the other AC restaurants as they are our favorite... This one was a mess. I waited to give them a review because they're new. I've been probably 10 times, always ordering the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. When it's on, it's great. Good heat, flavor and a glass-like coating. The problem is the consistency. I've gotten probably 2-3 good sandwiches out of my 1 visits. Most of the time there's barely any sauce on it, or sauce on a quarter with nothing on the rest. The sauce is what makes it Nashville Hot Chicken, so to get a sauce less piece of chicken is incredibly disappointing. I even ordered 2 sandwiches once - one was perfect, the other sauce less. I'll keep giving them a shot because when it's good, it's really good, but I wish they'd work out their process to put out a consistent product. Also I would definitely recommend the nuggets over the dunkers. The nuggets are much better, the dunkers are as everyone else has said, pretty bland and unremarkable. read more

When they first opened the food used to good, not sure what has happened recently. We stopped by earlier this week to a late lunch and the food quality was horrible. We ordered a chicken salad which looked stale and chicken added to it was flat out tasteless and unevenly cooked. The other order was chicken nuggets and fries. The fries were overcooked, burnt and soggy. The chicken nuggets were too dry and lacked flavor too. We ended up not eating the food and just walked away. Stopped in with my wife and teenage son for the first time on a Saturday night. We had heard good things and live nearby. The inside is large and spacious with plenty of booths and tables. There is a large outdoor area that was closed due to the cold temperature, but I think will be great when it warms up. We ordered two crispy chicken sandwiches, an order of dippers, regular French fries, and the 50/50 sweet potato fries and tots. Would have gotten a milkshake too, but was told they were out of milkshake ingredients. The chicken sandwiches were excellent. I don't know how they get the outside so crispy and the inside so juicy, but it had a great crunch with each bite. The chicken was generous in size also, exceeding the size of the bun. The dunkers were good but less impressive. Maybe it was the panko breading but they seemed more ordinary and less impressive than the sandwich. We tried the honey mustard and yum-yum sauces. Both were very tasty and good consistency. There are lots of other sauces which also sound good. Fries and tots were all crispy and well cooked., but nothing extraordinary. Overall this was a good experience. Wish the milkshakes were available, but plan to go back, try some other sauces, and see what the shakes are like. read more

Another great Ashley Christensen restaurant! When the taproom next door that it is paired with opens, this will be a place to hang out with friends for hours - especially during summer! Food-wise, I think the chicken sandwiches are great, but very small for $9. The fries are good but nothing exceptional IMO. I loved the cheese curds. Parking is plentiful at Parkside Towne Commons. Even if you can't park right next to the restaurant, everything in that part of the shopping center is very walkable, so no big deal to park on the other side of a building or two. The fries were inedible and overly greasy. It's likely the oil was not hot enough. Therefore, the fries soaked up a lot of grease as they were burning. The chicken sandwich literally tasted like chicken. Like they seasoned it with chicken, cooked it in chicken, and then said -- bread it like it's cod but don't add seasoning. We want it to taste plain. Plain chicken. The brioche was so oiled up with butter or whatever that I could squeeze the grease. I doubt I will be back. It was clean in there, so two stars. read more

Wow! What a disappointment! It started with the young woman who took our order. Not only was she not friendly, but she showed no personality at all, and was not helpful with suggestions or recommendations. I came in because I'm a huge chicken and French fry fan. Brought a friend and paid more than $26 for three grilled chicken tenders, four fried chicken tenders, two sodas, and two orders of fries. The grilled chicken tenders were small, thin, and dry, but they were not as small as the fried chicken tenders that were absolutely tiny - about the size of a baby carrot. They charge $5.99 for four tiny chicken tenders and that's alacarte - no side included. I'm giving two stars because the food appeared to be cooked fresh when we ordered it and everything came out hot. I will absolutely not be returning. read more

I've been waiting for BB's Crispy Chicken to open since the pandemic began. From the aesthetics of the establishment, my expectations were heightened, but unfortunately, I was let down. BB's Crispy Chicken has more a fast-food feel on the inside, which contradicts it's upscale outside appearance. In addition, while the place is huge, and has a fantastic ambience, it has a limited menu, and not much variety to justify the large space it occupies. I will say, that during the spring and summer months, I can envision many people sitting outside eating, but with other food. The chicken sandwich I purchased was tasty, thick, not dry, and well-portioned, but nothing to rave about. For the cost, they're overpriced, as it is just a crispy chicken sandwich. The milkshakes are limited in flavors, and you get just get a milkshake in walking distance from Coldstone or even Five Guys. Here's the kicker, my 8-year-old, was not impressed, she said we could've just gone to Chick-Fi-La. Ouch! (I probably would've saved an extra $10 too:-) read more
