We've ordered crawfish from this location a few times and it's been hit or miss. It's kind of early into the season right now, but we got some over the weekend and it was not good. The tails are really mushy though the size of the crawfish were pretty decent for this time of year. However, there is barely any flavor to the tails which wasn't the case when we got some last year. Sometimes they do a deal on Tuesdays - 5 pounds for 35. I don't know if they started doing that yet but I also don't know if I'll go back based off of this last experience. read more

Was denied entry w/ a clearly marked service dog. I'm an amputee w/ mobility issues & used a service dog. She is trained to alert as well as help w/ balance so not a "pet". I entered wearing shorts so my disability was clearly visible and my dog was wearing a hot pink service dog vest. We were told the manager does not allow service dogs. I asked if they were sure about this as that's actually against the law and they confirmed. The door person was nice but it was still an extremely discriminatory policy and the first time I've ever been denied entry from an establishment. I left feeling extremely embarrassed and more than a little bewildered. I mean, they have a patio section which I would have happily sat in. I wants to be descriminated against but for it to happen because of my disability was a just a bit much. Needless to say, I'll definitely be filing the appropriate ADA complaints. My 8 yr old, well trained service dog should never have been denied entry. We are a team and there is a reason laws exist to protect these teams. read more

My friends and I came to this place an hour before closing trying to look for food last minute. We were in the area decided to pop in. The red haired server with a pony tail continued gave us a lot of hesitation because it was 7 of us. There were others parties bigger than us but she made it a negotiation situation just to seat! I got the lunch special gumbo. I've had it before, and it was always really good but this time not only was it room temperature not even lukewarm, but the portion size that they had audacity to send to me was smaller than a kiddie meal. The sides were equally delightful, but have to mention the red potatoes, SOOO good, wish I would have ordered more. My bill before tip was $89.60, which means the server added 20% gratuity w/o my knowledge. I blindly just paid it before noticing this today, even tipped 18% of the $89.60. Will be my last time dining in here, the service wasn't so great and the food was just okay. Came with some friends for Houston Restaurant Weeks. I always see this place when I go next door to House of Pies but this was my first time here and I had a good experience. I got the Cajun empanadas, blackened redfish/shrimp, and bread pudding. I picked this place mainly bc I love Cajun food and I knew the portions would be huge for the $39 HRW price we'd be paying. The empanadas were awesome, the dipping sauce reminded me of Chuys jalapeño ranch. The entree was heavy not gonna lie with all the rice and Texas toast - carb overload. The fish was cooked and seasoned perfectly, but the shrimp was salty. The bread pudding stole the show. It was as big as my face and not too sweet (which I prefer). A friend of mine wanted to eat crawfish and found that BB's had a $35 special on Tuesday's for 5lbs of crawfish so we went here. Let me tell you it was so good and hot and seasoned I literally stuffed myself to get it all down and had a boiled egg and a potatoes too.. it is definitely the go to spot during crawfish season. However, their crawfish is a little pricy compared to others, but more importantly, I ordered 2 sausages with my crawfish order and they only gave me one :/ so I had to deduct a star from the rating for something I paid for but didn't receive. We ordered over the phone, which at the end they repeated the order back and it was correct. When I came to pick up in person, they also repeated the order back and it was correct. However, when I got home and opened the takeout containers, it was missing a whole sausage that we had ordered and paid for. A little disappointing since the meal felt a little incomplete. Otherwise, we asked for the crawfish to be extra wet and they delivered. The crawfish was seasoned well and was spicy, which was great. We also thought the quality of the crawfish itself was potentially better than other places because the crawfish were slightly bigger on average and had a more fresh taste. The accompaniments (corn, potatoes, and the 1 sausage we received) were also seasoned very well and were very tasty. Overall, enjoyable experience. Slightly high price but maybe worth it. So I'm probably not the most qualified person to review Cajun food. I didn't even know what an etouffee was before coming here. That said I'm a little surprised BB's Ted Orleans is only rated 3.5 stars. I get that it's a restaurant chain, but I thoroughly enjoyed the shrimp and grits I got here. The blackened shrimp were cooked perfectly. The grits were nice and creamy without factoring in the savory andouille cream sauce that they are topped by. I'm also glad they provide garlic bread so I could finish up the last of the sauce at the end. I would definitely consider coming back again in the future. read more

Embarrassment of an establishment. Like truly, I've never had such a horrible dine in experience. Me and my boyfriend came on a Saturday night, was not busy at all which makes sense after our visit. When we walked in there were only maybe 4 tables sat in the whole restaurant. Everything started fine, we were sat at our table and we ordered our drinks and an appetizer. We waited 30 minutes in an empty restaurant for the appetizer to finally hit the table and when it finally came it wasn't the appetizer we ordered. We wanted to put our dinner order in before the appetizer came out since it was already taking so long and we didn't want to wait another 30 minutes to get our food but our server tried his very best to avoid us. Not even exaggerating. He'd make eye contact, look down, and walk away to go do something else. Not once did he come over and check on us or apologize about the wait. When the right appetizers came out 40 minutes after we had originally ordered them he took our dinner order and disappeared again. Again another wait for our food. I had the shrimp and grits my boyfriend had the half and half poboy. He drops only my food off and leaves our table in a hurry. My boyfriend is then left to sit for another 10 minutes without food in front of his face. Everyone around us has come in after us and got their food delivered before him, all poboys. There was no communication between our server to us about why his food was late, how much longer it was going to be, nor any type of apology for our food taking so long. I work in a restaurant myself and I'm not usually hard on my servers at all but this was literally such a terrible experience. Terrible customer service, severely understaffed, unnecessary waits. As soon as my boyfriend got his food we put our food in Togo boxes and left irritated. To be that empty and wait for mediocre food with terrible customer service is just insane. I understand why there's no cars in the lot when I drive past this location. You couldn't pay me enough to come back. Who ever is running this restaurant needs to not! read more

I pulled in the parking lot and called in my order. The young lady who answered the phone was so nice and friendly. She answered all my questions with out hesitation and didn't sound frustrated with my questions. They have a special going on 5lbs for $35. I also got fried and a sausage link. That is a steal! My order was ready in 20mins. These crawfish were huge and had a lot of meat. I didn't even need extra butter or seasoning because the meat itself was seasoned very well. Being this close to the gulf, they could have used fresh shrimp and hand breaded them before they fried them. We had the chicken bullet appetizer, the shrimp and grits (split between 2 people), the blackened red fish with jumbo shrimp and sautéed vegetables instead of rice, the Grouper with verde sauce., fish tacos (with red beans and rice) and a side of crawfish etoufee. The food was very good. The fish was fresh, the shrimp plentiful, the flavors were bold without being overpowering or overly spicy. I really enjoyed the red fish. Actually we all bits of each other's and everything was quite good. I am glad I found this place. It definitely deserves more than the 3.5 star average it has. I'd give it 4.5 but the service being so excellent and the value for what you're getting was so good that they scored 5. They had a poster that I took a picture of for their awesome Tuesday special. BB's never fails to satisfy my taste buds and my empty stomach. My eyes were definitely bigger than my stomach at the time, but everything ordered was delicious! One of my favorite appetizers are the fried pickles. The batter is thick and doesn't fall apart. My favorite item on the menu is hands down their half and half po-boy, which includes half fried shrimp and oysters- YUM! A friend and I split the Tex-Cajun fries, which is smothered with gravy, queso, and roast beef. Add some hot sauce, and it's even more delicious. Our server was fantastic.
