I was born in New Orleans and raised in Lafayette, LA, and have been going to crawfish boils for decades. My daughter and I wanted some boiled crawfish this week, so we decided to try this restaurant. It was ok, but I have a real problem with restaurants that put the seasoning on the outside of the crawfish. It belongs IN THE WATER. I've encountered this weird way of serving crawfish rarely--and NEVER in Louisiana. Only in Texas. I think I got an entire month's worth of salt in tonight's crawfish. They were nicely spiced, and the corn was good, but the potatoes were bland--probably because they weren't cooked in spicy water. I don't like giving negative reviews, but we were so disappointed. My friend raves about this place so I came to this location , we sat at the bar and bartender cristal gave such bad service. That's what happens when you sit at bar because we didn't want to wait and the bar was pretty empty ordered crawfish, pickles and dozen oysters. Pickles came and we waited and waited for our oysters and nothing. We even got our crawfish and still no oysters so we reminded her and got them after we finished our 4 pounds of crawfish (Long ass wait!) oysters should be easy. Not to mention we waited a frkn hour to get our sausage we ordered with our crawfish and I had to ask about 4 times and she was annoyed but why not just got and get it yourself if you see that I keep bothering you about it. Asked for butter 3 times too but too busy flirting with a guy at the bar to pay attention to us. The couple next to us said she was horrible also I was just confused as to why when the place is not busy won't come here again. Waited 10-15min on the curb until someone sitting in front of the door finally got up and asked me if I needed anything. I told her I was there to pick up an online order and the lady tells me "we take orders on that side" which was like not even 5 feet away. Okay? It was a good price for 5lbs of crawfish but the shell was sticking to the meat and they were so dry. Went on a Saturday nite. Was told the wait for 2 was 20-30 minutes. A lady was passing out free hush puppies to waiting patrons and they were really good. Our table was ready in 33 minutes. Tracey was our waitress and super nice and helpful.. we ordered the most popular appetizer the pollo bullets and were disappointed. My date ordered the trio of crawfish etouffee,(was ok),garlic smoked sausage(no),and red beans and rice(bland). I had the redfish with some amazing sauce. The sauce made the dish and the bread that came with it was super good.. did not like the green bean medley that came with it, but the cilantro rice was good. I ordered a hurricane on the rocks that was watered down, then I ordered another alcoholic beverage(that was recommended by the waitress-couldn't remember the name of the drink, but it was super sweet and tasted like koolaide. My dat got the Hennessy drink, and it was super strong. 2/11/20. Came back a 2nd time this evening around 7p. Not too busy at the bar. But apparently my waitress was super busy. When I got ready to order she said "give me just a second" which turned out to be 5 minutes while she answered to go orders on the phone and shucking oysters. Food was 1/2 decent. Waitress never came back to check on me. She stayed shucking ouster's and answering the phone, and chit chatting with the patrons on the side where she was shucking oysters. Ate here today for the first time and really enjoyed the food AND service. The manager seated us and suggested we try one of their many beer selections, or perhaps a margarita. I'm always on the hunt for a good margarita, so my wife ordered frozen and I ordered mine on the rocks with salt. The drink was pretty strong and lacked any personality (?) - tasted like tequila with lime juice, which IS a basic margarita. Our waitress suggested crab empanadas as an appetizer, my wife ordered fried shrimp and oysters, and I was drawn to the description of the fish tacos by our waitress. The empanadas were served with an avocado/ranch dip that tasted amazing on the crab appetizer. I was lucky to cheat one shrimp and one oyster off my wife, and they were both VERY good - probably what I will order next time. My blackened catfish tacos were served with slaw and various sauces on a flour tortilla (2), with a side of red beans and rice. My ONLY complaints about these wonderful fish tacos are minor - the tacos are HUGE, so 1 would have been plenty for me ( I like variety, not volume), and I desperately needed more beans with my rice. I so wanted this place to meet or exceed my expectations but it failed. We came here on Saturday for a belated anniversary dinner. I came at the recommendation of a bartender of another establishment we frequent. There were 9 of us total. Our bill came to about $280 with tax and an automatic 18% gratuity. I feel it was $280 down the drain. Not one of us was impressed by our food and we had quite a variety with 9 people. The service was good, can't complain about the server, just the food. I personally will not return as the food just wasn't worth coming back to eat. My son even left 1/2 of his shrimp po-boy by accident and when he got home he said he probably would not have ate the leftovers anyway, it wasn't that good. The crab clusters were small, very dry and had been over cooked which meant the meat was hard to come out of the shell. The corn on cob was old and dry. The red beans and rice was sweet. My husband had the crawfish etouffee which looked NOTHING like their picture. The rice was mixed with the etouffee and the rue was thick like gravy. The sausage was dried out as well. My favorite boil I've gotten so far! The sauce was actual sauce and not runny butter, it wasn't in a bag but in a basket so it was easier for me to get to the food, and the fry appetizer was amazing! Our waitress, Amanda, was great. The kids menu was a little deceiving, though, we ordered Mac n cheese and fries and a corn dog and fries and they both came out like the main dish was fries and it was a side of Mac n cheese and a side of corn dogs (they were 4 mini corn dogs instead of a big corn dog). I had really high hopes for this places, so I was was extra disappointed today. We came for brunch since it is on their online menu. When we arrived the brunch was also in their actual menu BUT they are not serving it?! We ordered oysters and THEN the server told us they were on special. She then asked us awkward questions about what oysters taste like. The oysters took forever and even though we ordered them as an appetizer they came out at the same time as our meal. Don't order the Boudain flautas. They come with all rice and zero meat and we're over fried. If I wanted a fried rice dish I would have ordered that. I paid for the meal because I felt bad about our experience and the server gave the paid bill to my fiancé vs me which was also suero insulting. We probably won't be back. read more

Food tastes good, some plates have rice and beans as a side and I feel they "stuff" the plates with them to provide smaller options of the meats. I have had few extra charges in orders I've placed to go with those extra charges not mentioned in advance. Last time I asked to talk to the manager who after talking to him offer to remove the 3.00 extra charge for an oyster poboy (btw the 12.95 poboy is good in flavor but portion is sadly small...not worth the price). Anyways, beware of extra charges, ask if you're in doubt. I'm feeling this restaurant is taking my business for granted; with so meany options around....I'd go and try other places. I forgot taking pics of the poboy and the big seafood gumbo I ordered ($4.00 extra for crab meat btw). Gumbo has good flavor but thinking of paying over $20 for it takes away the joy. read more

I was looking for something close by to eat and I found this place and it looked new or I just never noticed it before. I checked out the menu and I saw a lot of things I wanted to try and I was laughing at the names of the food becuse I'm from south Louisiana and I found them comical. 1st issues is the gps from yelp put the restaurant waaaaaaay down at the other end of the parking lot. I had to call to find the place. It's on the side of barns and noble. Found it! 2nd issue is there's this little chalk board sign with an arrow saying entrance that I didn't see until I walked passed it once and went to the other side of the building. I was created by friendly staff and sat right away. I ordered my 2 favorite things to eat in general, boudin balls and shrimp and grits. The boudin balls where good I'd order them again. It came with a dip that was a classic crawfish boil dip that was good. The shrimp and grits came and I was looking forward to them. The red beans and rice where bland and tasted like nothing. Even the sausage was flavorless. The grits were no where near that good. Tasted more like the corn they put in it than cheddar. The blackened shrimp did this place in. They looked and smelled delicious. I took a bit and I could tell they used cheap shrimp from China. They had the strongest taste of iodine I've ever had. There were 6 shrimp one by number 2 I was getting sick to my stomach. The manager came over and asked how the meal was. I told her I didn't like it. They offered to send it back but by that time I was very close to Losing my lunch and just wanted to leave so I asked for the check. Never in my life have I ever left a shrimp or eat one so strong with iodine that an hour later I can still taste it in my mouth an hour later and after eating mints. On my way home to get mouth wash and toothpaste. you should really be ashamed of yourself. You're 30 mins from the worlds best shrimp and you buy it from overseas. I've had greasier shrimp in North Dakota no where near an ocean Will not be returning which is a disappointment read more

Called in my order and maybe this is where I must've gone wrong. Although the woman who took my order on the phone was amazing, that's where the good things stop for me. Parking to get inside was a nightmare and the service from the bar was less than desired as well. The bartender was more concerned with dishes and other customers I suppose because he never acknowledged me standing there. Luckily another staff memeber noticed how long I had been standing there and decided to come assist me. Over the phone, I was told my food would be ready in 30 minutes, I arrived in 40 minutes and still had to wait an additional 15 minutes for my food. There's a certain reason people typically call in their food order and one of those reasons is to avoid the wait and get in and out! Now, I've experienced this type of thing before and if the food is good enough, I would probably look past it but the food is what made this review so low. I ordered the Jazzy shrimp trio, shrimp po-boy, and bread pudding. The shrimp from the trio were cold. The shrimp po-boy was a roast beef po-boy that was so cold with soggy fries that I didn't dare put it in my mouth. They gave me the wrong po-boy apparently. The bread pudding, which is one of my favorite Creole desserts was served with a side of vinagarette. Yes, you read that right. There was a cup of what LOOKED like the traditional bourbon glaze, sitting in the same container. I noticed something black at the bottom so I gave it a stir. As I was bringing the fork to my mouth, I smelled the pungent order of vinegar. I passed it around for others to get a whiff just in case my nose was off. A brave soul tasted it, and confirmed that it was indeed a vinegarette or vinegar based sauce. Now I don't know if someone picked up the wrong sauce and placed it in my container or if this is what they expected me to put on my bread pudding, either way, it was a big mistake that brought this whole bad experience to a head. I didn't bother going back to return my food because not one thing in the order was worth a second chance. read more

Chalmette mac was good but lacked seasoning. Boudin balls were okay. Crawfish were small but it's still early in the season. Expensive per pound compared to other crawfish boil available locally. Delicious bread pudding on the verge of being tres leches. Fun atmosphere. Overall, food was not as good as other BB's locations we've tried but I'm optimistic they'll hit their stride here soon.
