You order at the counter, then listen for your name, and they bring your food out. I didn't think it was anything to write home about. I will say that we had good service. Great little spot in downtown Bethany for breakfast. Muffins are definitely worth trying. Wide variety of freshly baked muffins more on the sweet side (apple crisp was amazing). They also serve a variety of egg sandwiches and all very reasonably priced. They have some benches and chairs right outside to sit down and it can get pretty busy on the weekends so there might be a line but don't let that scare you away. read more

It seems strange to turn away customers who are already there because you're too busy but then take online orders which is backing up the kitchen. I have been here several times and the food is always great. I'm pregnant and was up all night sick. I ordered two sandwiches for my husband and I and I notice the cooks don't wear gloves at all. My husband and I absolutely love this place! It's one of our go to sandwich shops in Bethany. All the food is very fresh and lovingly made. Today I got the Philly cheesesteak and it was phenomenal! Cute little spot here in Bethany to get great, fresh food for a decent price. There's lots of junk food that's outrageously priced at the beach, so this spot is a go- to. I had the grilled chicken Caesar salad, which was delicious and flavorful. The chicken was still warm when I received my order, so you can tell they had just grilled it. The only concern to my dish was that the dressing was not cold. Otherwise a great experience. My boyfriend had the Delaware chicken salad wrap, which was also delicious and filling. This is a great little bakery/coffee shop in town. First off to all the complainers about the level of service, relax, you're at the beach. It is summer and there are going to be high school kids working behind the counter of almost every business. So, they are learning. The breakfast sandwiches are great! Fairly newly opened, this little coffee shop offers many options for great food. They have breakfast anytime, with thick bread and jam, or a breakfast sandwich. And granola/Greek yogurt, but I'd skip the healthy stuff for once and go to the apple carmel muffin (and with the apple, we can call it healthy). It is dense, loaded with taste, and one is big enough for two breakfasts in my opinion. There are blended iced coffees and "linners" (lunch/dinner) sandwiches which I have not yet tried, from PB&J to hot roast beef and cheddar on a roll or the Cuban with pork tenderlion, ham, swiss and spicy mustard. . This is one of our favorite places for breakfast. Even if the lines are long Beth and her team are friendly and fast at getting your order. My favorite sandwich is the egg and cheese on a bagel. They have a few different kinds of cheeses to choose from so your sandwich doesn't always have to be the same. The inside has been redecorated a bit and it looks very clean and pretty. You might not notice the decor because you will be too busy looking at the muffins. Every morning there are different varieties. They are all so tasty but the peach is amazing. It's very moist and it has lots of fresh peaches in it. If you really want to treat yourself I recommend the chocolate cupcakes. They are the best in all of Delaware. read more

I love the food here. The muffins are always delicious and good for snacking on the beach. I always get the BPT with egg and an iced coffee. I have one large problem with the timeliness of ordering. It never is a shorter wait than 30 min-- no matter if you order for a whole family or just one sandwich. I wish they would work ahead and have bacon/eggs ready to assemble. This place is so charming and while they only make sandwiches, baked goods, salads and the like- everyone should try it for lunch as it's deliciously fresh and healthy for the most part. We came on a Sunday around 2pm and I got the yummy chicken caesar salad, which was so fresh..with made to order, piping hot grilled chicken. The rest of the salad was simple but so refreshing- tomato, lettuce, red onion, shaved parmesan and thick Caesar dressing. Three others I was with got I believe, a grilled chicken wrap, which was good, roasted turkey and perhaps best of all- yummy corned beef on marble rye. As the owner said "it's New York good" and hey, as I'm from New York- that's what I like to hear. Bf and I also shared a Harvest Muffin which was healthy and full of summer veggies (zucchini and whatnot). We love love love the idea of this breakfast place and have given more than a dozen chances. The food is the only thing that keeps us coming back but the 'controllables' are things we keep hoping and praying improve or we will have to break up with the Beach Break Bakrie. 1. Staff is rushed and unpleasant. 2. They cannot keep up with the coffee demand or keep the coffee station stocked and clean. 3. During summers 'in-season', it is completely chaos from the way the line forms to place your order to actually receiving your order (up to 30 min wait). We are saddened by this because all of these things can be easily addressed with management if they opened their eyes and realized that the 'experience' matters - to us, more than the food.
