Since moving to JAX, my favorite thing to do is take our "boys" (a lab mix and a lab/great dane) to the beach and run around 1st thing in the AM....after we were done, really wanted breakfast - yelped for breakfast near us, GPS took us to Beach Diner... Saw that they had outdoor seating - asked if dogs were allowed on patio...said yes...right there, 3 stars....even if the food wasn't great, we'd be back.... Then we ordered - GREAT Western Omelet, potatoes (order them extra well done) were AMAZING - especially with their Datil pepper sauce to add some kick. Sausage solid, Good thick wheat toast. Wife liked the pancakes (minor complaint - gave you a little plastic thing of syrup - not quite enough). Russian young lady at the counter, shorter waiter who cleaned out table, and our waitress (hopefully I'll remember names next time) were all wonderful - even brought water and treats for the boys!!!! Going to start this review APOLOGIZING..there will be NO PICTURES.. We had one guest almost 45mins late(she is 85/drives herself/so it is a given a HALL PASS)anyways because of that when the food came it was full on starving mode and pictures lost to the WAR CRY of OUR BELLIES. Had I not been sitting there eyeballing all the meals coming out and changing my mind 100 time..THERE WOULD OF BEEN PICS..maybe ;-) I had the Salmon Special Sandwich( Smoked Salmon, Wasabi Cream Cheese, and Avocado on Toasted Marble Rye) I added sprouts.. Since it was breakfast time and I seriously dislike morning food choices I was so FREAK'n HAPPY to be able to order off the Lunch menu. But BD has some of the VERY BEST Home Fries around, I went w/those as they NEVER DISAPPOINT for my side. I was so was glad I did..yum yum yum dipped in datil hot sauce) It was one of the best sandwiches I had had out in some time..Loaded w/smoke salmon..Smothered w/ripe rich yummy creamy slices of Avocado. I wish it had had more of the wasabi cream cheese, but now knowing what I know I would ask for extra. Adding the sprouts gave it the earthy crunch I love to find, and next time I may see if they have Arugula; as that would take it over the top as well for me. I could only eat half so I packed up the rest to bring home..I did do a squirt of lemon on the avocado side(not wanting brown harsh avocado later) Yes, this made one half of the sandwich soggy but when life gives you soggy bread pull out a box of Wheat Thins or a box of Triscuits and you have a cracker sandwich party. NOTHING FROM THAT MEAL WENT TO WASTE!! The other two dishes were Western Omelet and a Cheese Omelet they looked good and every bit of them were eaten as well. So, I am giving those dishes a YAY as well as they seemed to be enjoyed. So if you want to enjoy the BEST Home Fries and like Smoked Salmon..I say make your way to Beach Diner and ENJOY.. read more

Beach locale + Diner food = Beach Diner. Great place to grab a bite. They serve breakfast & lunch daily but my advice is go for the breakfast; that's what they do best. The coffee is some of the best diner coffee I've had; I go through several cups in one sitting. French toast (no raisins) and a side of cheese grits is still my go-to order, but I've learned to venture out a little bit. I've had their grilled cheese sandwich off the lunch menu and tried the eggs benedict. Both were excellent. I don't think they're doing dinner anymore; it's definitely the place where to start your day, not end it. read more

A nice diner that offers a variety of breakfast foods. We came here with some friends to try it out. The service was very fast. We were sat faster than the estimated wait time. Our server was very friendly and prompt with service. The food was great! I got the left omelette covered in hollandaise sauce. It was very tasty and the bacon added to it made it so much better. I would strongly recommend it. To make it a healthier option you can add a cup of fruit to it for no extra charge. I will definitely come back to eat brunch here again! read more

We've eaten at other beach diner spots around town. The difference here is that our food was out pretty quick to arrive and our waitress kept checking on us. I always order extra lemons and I swear they gave me about 3 lemons cut up which made me happy. Pretty decent crowd on a Friday morning. Prefer this location compared to others. read more

Me and my husband both got the Crab Cakes Eggs Benedict with the grits ( trying to keep my girlish figure) so good, fresh crab and everything in our group had a great experience. Beach diner is a convenient spot for the locals in Ponte Vedra beach. A must on a Sunday morning or a quick to go order . The menu is filled with tasty endless options. Everyone who works there is extremely nice. I'm a weirdo when it comes to my food so they are always willing to accommodate my annoying foodie needs. I love the brightness of the restaurant inside. It's extremely welcoming and not dark. They have a cute little patio if you'd prefer to eat outside too! I would recommend beating the Sunday morning church crowd by getting there a bit early which means you may catch the early bird specials. My cousin lives nearby so we popped in for a late breakfast. It was super busy and were told the wait was about 20 minutes, it went much faster though. Inside and outside seating areas available. I had eggs Benedict, they were tasty, one egg was a little over cooked but the other was perfect. Hollandaise sauce was really good. The deep fried 'home fries' were crispy and piping hot. The coffee was blah My cousin had a veggie omelet with Swiss and cheddar cheese. It was a big portion that came with chunky salsa on top as well as home fries and toast. Lunch on 10/20/18 at 12:00 PM Beach Diner is one of the most popular and well known local restaurants in the greater Jacksonville area. With a total of five locations now, Beach Diner is continuing their growth and upward trajectory. Founded in 1998, the restaurant has found significant success and popularity. This establishment has well earned and deserved the praising reviews and accolades it has achieved in their short twenty year but prosperous stint. The Beach Diner being reviewed here is the location in Ponte Vedra Beach. The establishment was fairly easy to find as it was located in a shopping plaza with many other businesses surrounding it. The outside sign was eye catching and appealing which would definitely draw in many guests. Upon entrance, we were greeted with a warm welcome as we put our name in. The restaurant was busy but our wait was no longer than ten minutes. We were brought to our table, ordered two cokes for $2.29 each, and got our menus. The theme of Beach Diner is simple but extremely effective. As the title implies, it is a diner along the beach so the theme, decor, and atmosphere revolved around the beach. Many of the details were subtle but provided many things to look at in the restaurant. The white interior of the restaurant also provided that clean and "beachy" feel. The atmosphere, theme, and decor definitely enhanced our dining experience. Those details alone would sell us on coming back to eat here again. The most important aspect of this review would be the food. One item ordered was the patty melt for $9.99. Coming from someone who loves patty melts, this was an excellent entree. The quality of the hamburger patty was outstanding and cooked to perfection. The marbled rye bread was perfectly toasted and the swiss cheese was melted throughout the sandwich. There was also grilled onions on the sandwich which also added to dish. This dish was served with french fries. The french fries were crispy and specially seasoned so they were more than your typical french fries. The other dish ordered was the turkey club for $9.99. Once again, as someone who loves turkey clubs, this one was excellent as well. The white bread was toasted throughout the three layers of the sandwich. The rotisserie turkey was fresh, the bacon was cooked perfectly, and the cheese was great. The veggies were also extremely fresh and added to the dish overall. Instead of fries, potato salad was ordered with this dish. The potato salad was mayonnaise based and used red potatoes. This was a really excellent potato salad. The food was definitely a home run on all levels. Last but not least, the service here was excellent. Our server was very attentive and available for our needs but did not hover or bother. All employees interacted with provided a great and enjoyable experience all around whether it was the cashier who checked us out, our server, or the hostess at the beginning of the meal. Beach Diner definitely knows good service and how to properly interact with their customers. Overall, this was an amazing experience. As someone who adores diners, this was by far the best diner we have been to. The quality of the food was outstanding and the drinks were fresh as well. The price value for all the food was excellent too. You get a ton of food for an affordable price. Even for diner food and diner prices, the portion to price ratio is outstanding. Without tip, the bill came to $26.16 which is one of the best values out there. The service was excellent and really added to the experience. Finally, the decor was amazing and was one of the highlights of this meal. 10/10 reviews are sparing for me but this definitely deserves one. We will definitely be back to Beach Diner soon. If you have not realized it yet from my reviews, there are two things that I really like: the ocean and food. Now when you put the two together you get some amazing results. Sea...food, Surf and...turf, you get the drift (catch the wave may be more appropriate?) So goes it when you add the beach plus a diner... We woke up very early on a weekend morning and headed down to the beach to catch a sunrise. As the sun broke the horizon and the multi color sky put the night behind us we watched as a pod of dolphins frolicked in the surf. The seagulls circled above us while we strolled down the beach, looking for shells and sharks teeth. Life doesn't get any better. Or does it? We pulled into the diner later that morning and sat at a table in the middle. Our waitress provided drinks and hot coffee as we scoured the menu. The choices, the choices... The girls never made it passed the chocolate chip pancakes. I however was having a more difficult time but finally decided on pancakes and eggs with a side of bacon. My wife, the only sensible one in the bunch, ordered a standard two egg breakfast. We no sooner put in our order and had our menus collected when our plates arrived. There was very little conversation for a while as forks hit plates to mouths to plates again. The silence was finally broken when one girl proclaimed, "this is REALLY good." Heads nodded in agreement. I finished my coffee refill as my wife soaked up the last of her eggs over easy with her toast. 40 minute wait? Totally worth it. Walked in on a busy Sunday morning. While the wait was going to be long, the only other choice available was to drive to Jax beach. I read the few magazines while waiting, watched the start to the Tottenham/Manchester City match, then our names were called! Right away, we were helped by a lovely gentleman that grabbed our drinks for us and was even sweet enough to make my adult friend (or so she claims) a hot chocolate. The menu was stacked with options, so we ended up ordering four meals for three people. I ordered The Bayou (double with two eggs), which was a delicious twist on a classic eggs benedict. In addition to the classic, The Bayou came with Bacon AND Crab. This was like the SurfnTurf of the breakfast world. The eggs were perfect. Normally, I don't enjoy my bacon crispy but it was an incredible addition to the texture of the dish. The crab was hearty and delightful, as well, with no funk to it at all. The home fries were dark golden and crispy on the exterior and nice and fluffy on the inside. Then I went and committed a cardinal sin and added hot sauce to what was already an amazing dish--and it was everything I could have ever hoped and dreamed for at 11:30 am on a Sunday. The others ordered a classic benedict, chicken salad sandwich, and a breakfast burrito. All were happy with their picks, too. I ended up eating half of the breakfast burrito in addition to my Eggs Bayou, despite the large portion size, and it was just as good as the ones I make at home. (In case you're wondering, I make really dankalicious breakfast burritos) The waitress was efficient and friendly. She was able to bring us items before we even asked for them. She must know that three mid-twenty-somethings (and my father) are unable to eat potatoes without dipping them into ranch (or in my case, hot sauce.-- Did I mention that they keep three kinds of hot sauce on each table?
