I usually go to the beach diner location in San Marco and love it however , I did not like this location . The same breakfast burrito I usually get was not as fresh tasting . The overall location seemed very dirty to me . The bathroom was disgusting and the overall restaurant floor was not much better . It is so odd because I thought this location would be just as nice if not nicer based on the area but that is not the case . I highly suggest this restaurant get better management or it will give a bad name to the other beach diners ! read more

We selected this restaurant because we were on our way to Saint Augustine from Jacksonville Beach. It was very clean and nice on the inside. We were immediately greeted by our server and joked with him about the day.. The selections on the menu all looked extremely well thought out and it was a tough choice. I chose the special of the day the chicken pot pie with fried green tomatoes and I was not disappointed. The serving was enough to feed three people at a reasonable price. My entire meal was delicious! The meals of my companions were equally enjoyed!! Our server offered us refi to go cups of our drinks. The food and service was exceptional! read more

We had been up since 5:00 AM for our flight to Florida so we were very hungry when we got here. At 11:30 AM on a Tuesday morning there were only 3 seats at the counter which we quickly agreed to. The staff was super friendly and we were given menus and settings and water right away. Ordered the Eggs benedict, Bayou Benedict and the waffle. Service was fast and the eggs were perfectly poached. The sauce was great and mine was loaded with crab. The side of home fries were good with onions and peppers throughout. We left very happy and satisfied. read more

My dad and I went here for a late lunch. It was steady, but we were able to get a table right away. However, the customer service was horrible. We waited nearly an hour for a salad and veggie wrap. Customers who sat down way after us were getting their food. After waiting about 45 mins we politely asked about our order. In a rude tone the waitress said the "salad station is super busy" and walked away. No apology or sympathy. We understand mistakes happen and didn't want to annoy her, but I was on my lunch break had to return to work. The waitress didn't refill our drinks or check on us after we received our food. When she put our food down, she slammed the check down with it. I know some restaurants have you pay at the front counter, but she made us feel very unwelcomed and uncomfortable. Food was decent, prices were good, but the customer service ruined the experience. Not sure what happened, because other reviews rate differently. I am glad to see other's had positive experiences. I'm wondering if it's because my dad's rental car had northern plates(you could see where he parked). I know most Floridian's are prejudice of northerners so maybe she was one of them? Just a bad experience. My boss and I had an hour for lunch before our next appointment. We decided to give the Beach Diner a try. The reviews were great! So we enter and no one greeted us, so we stood there for a few minutes. Finally a lady says follow me and seats us at a dirty table. Up until this point we're like ok, no worries because everyone's food looks great and the menu was interesting with a blend of breakfast and lunch selections. We order and I specifically asked our waitress "does the open face chicken tender sandwich come with cheese", she says no so that's what I order. 15 minutes go by and our order comes out and not only did my sandwich have cheese melted on it but it was a grilled chicken sandwich. I let the waitress know that this wasn't what I ordered. She said oh, I always do this because those sandwiches are right by each other! So now it takes another 12-15 minutes for my order to come out and now we're up against the clock to leave and make our appointment. We ask for the check and I present my credit card for payment. At point we are told that there credit card machine had been down all day and they could only take cash! My level of disgust couldn't be measured at this point. I have to go to a nearby ATM get cash and pay our bill. Why couldn't this have been told too us when we were sat? Why wasn't a sign displayed at the hostess station? Why didn't a manager come and apologize for the order mistake? Just a poor experience all around. Oh any my sandwich was over cooked!!!! As I continue too do business in this area, I WILL NOT come back to The Beach Diner. read more

One of our favorites, and a staple of our weekend. We usually get to the Ponte Vedra location before 8 on Saturdays - there is a steady crowd and usually a wait (especially for parties larger than 4). If you arrive later than us, or "after church" on Sunday, be prepared to wait. The bar is always first come first served, a little known secret, so we usually find a couple of open seats there. Service is ok; sometimes it's better than others, but usually the coffee arrives quickly enough not to allow the cranky pants to show. We keep coming back for the local feel & those potatoes! The home fries are huge, baked then fried to breakfast perfection. Yum! The "ultimate" comes with 2 eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, home fries, and 2 silver dollar pancakes - so much food, but oh so good. I've tried most of the menu items - the crab cake Benedict was a dud, but the blueberry pancakes, AM rider, omletts, and oatmeal were good choices. Stick with the standards at this diner, you will get exactly what you expect. read more

We were staying at the Sawgrass Marriott down the street and wanted a yummy brunch place. I had the eggs Benedict and corned beef hash. No complaints here! Nice job on the poached eggs. My friends had the Reuben and the godfather sandwich. The Reuben looked slightly over cooked but the godfather was good. GREAT fries!! The people were nice and the ambiance was very cute, a beach house kind of feel and very clean. Is it to die for? No but it does the trick! I've lived in many different cities and travel Very regularly and you can't beat this breakfast/lunch only restaurant. It's casual dress, with families and regular clientele, very clean and nice atmosphere and best yet non-greasy but well prepared dishes, I recommend the Mexican omellete and the soft waffle (not the hard one) with fruit and maple syrup. Sandwiches - any of them are terific. Staff is excellent - friendly and attentive. Yes wait on prime time weekends will be 30-45 mins but they serve you free coffee with outside benches while you wait. Or, safe to sit at breakfast bar without worrying of a nasty person sitting beside you. All diners (though this is more of a charming restaurant) should study this place! So good that even though they don't do dinners they've done wedding receptions and catering at the bequest of clients. Love this place!! read more

I was looking for a breakfast spot this morning while out and about in Ponte Vedra and I decided to stop in. The place is very bright and welcoming. I enjoyed eggs over easy, grits, sausage, and wheat toast. The service was extremely fast, which I love, so I could move on with my day. I also loved my breakfast, quick and simple. Brought Mom here on a Wednesday morn. She got the French toast; 2 large pieces and very good. My order was a problem. Scrambled eggs with choice of mild or spicy sausages. I chose the mild as I've issues with spicy. Eggs were fine.Sausage however was spicy hot. One bite and I was done for. Everyone makes mistakes, of course, but when I complained, waitress Hannah told me, "we were out of mild, so we gave you the spicy. " That's a true quote! Shocked, I asked to see the manager. She came over, I explained, and she told me,"They're not that spicy to me, but I like spicy food. " That's another true quote. So , a rough experience at Beach Diner. Made worse by 1)not one smile on any staff person and 2)they charged me for my very unsatisfactory meal, deducting only $2. for the spicy sausage. I love the location on Atlantic Blvd and this one is great also. I like how bright and sunny it is. The eggs on the Bayou and the shrimp crab omelette are very good. If you're not up to seafood in the morning it's all good. I am not usually a fan of home fries but they make sure they are crispy on the outside. Their pancakes are so fluffy and good you do not need much syrup. The wait staff is always on point. I have never gotten past breakfast so cannot comment on their lunch. read more

Our waitress, on the other hand, was quite good, very personable and attentive. The Ponte Vedra Beach location is in a huge shopping center without much character but plenty of parking. It's good to be able to count on three things when you're out for breakfast: fast service, good coffee, and perfectly prepared eggs.
