Came here for first time even after reading the reviews for this place. No one is exaggerating when they say the CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS. The manager seriously needs to reevaluate the hiring process. All three girls behind counter were obnoxiously screaming and yelling the entire time I sat inside and had my meal. Extremely disappointed with the Santa Barbara sandwich. Great Beach Hut to order and eat at! I would say it's the best. So....there is a sandwich not on the menu that really should be. I advise anyone who loves tacos to absolutely try this. The Mahalo sando. Pure bliss! If you live in the area or if it's on your way home from work just stop by. Everyone is truly friendly and the atmosphere is really pleasant. If you have a big order you can call it in but I think it's best to stop in order and have a pint while you wait. It doesn't take long but it's a good excuse to have a pint. For the price, I was expecting to be wow'ed. Nope. I came in for a late lunch, just after 1:00. I had to wait in line, and then wait for my sandwich to be made, which took about 5 minutes. I split a medium sized sandwich with another person, and it cost us over $12 (just one sandwich, no drinks or sides)! The sandwich was good. Nothing special, nothing amazing, just good. There was a lot of fresh sliced turkey, but otherwise nothing special about the flavor. The staff was nice enough, the inside of the resutarurant is small and not very comfortable feeling, there was a long, wait, and it was too expensive. Let me start off by stating I like Beach Hut Deli(the one in Natomas). Ordered sandwich here on my lunch break, took a while, but what ever. Noticed the heavy smell of burnt toast, one girl looked at it concerned, the other girl making the sandwich grabbed it anyway and still used it. Always friendly and courteous service here, but it doesnt seem like this business is doing very well. I've gotten stale bread here more than once and the soda machines look to have many options but are pretty much out of all flavors except the basics. They probably used to have more but dont have the business to support a wide variety. Also very limited selection of basically one brand of chips that all taste like salt. Thankfully they do have sun chips. This place is good enough, but not great. read more

We walked in here looking for just a bagel. Yup, that's it...one bagel. My husband was doing the Spartan Race the following morning and needed some kind of breakfast to eat prior to the race. We thought that because this is a deli that they'd have bagels. We were nicely told that they didn't have bagels and recommended some other places that might - like Starbucks next door. We explained to the nice young man what we needed the bagel for and he suggested their sliced wheat bread and some peanut butter. Well, duh. That's exactly what we wanted but where/who would make that this time of night? We decided on just a bagel cause we figured it was easy. But here at Beach Hut Deli, they had exactly what we needed/wanted. So my husband got his breakfast, his perfect protein/carb packed sandwich that helped him run and finish his very first Spartan Race. Thank you to the great staff at Beach Hut for such great service! So when I moved to gold river and there was a beach hut deli by my house I was excited. BUT what's wrong with your Au jus? I've had it 5 times now and 3 out of 5 it's been brown water. No flavor at all. Literally at all. When you order a skinner dipper and you're all excited dipping that delicious sandwich in and taking that first bite and it's nothing but a sandwich dipped in water it's pretty devastating. Au jus and skinny dippers are my favorite so yes I tried 5 times. Being covid this is all through delivery so I'm not there to say Hey! I didn't order water so Tonight was the final try. Beach Hut Deli makes a great sandwich. They cost a little more than your basic sub shop but its worth it. Two people can easily split a large and the veggie sandwiches are bomb! I've been to at least 4 different BHD is the Sac area and they've all been very consistent with the quality of food. read more

Ok, I'll be honest I don't write negative reviews often but my experience today at this particular location motivated me to do so. We come to this location a lot and the food is always great... customer service not so much but today was the worst! A young lady with a bothered to help us attitude took our order and after sitting around for over 30 minutes watching multiple people come in, order and receive there food prior to us I got up and inquired about our order. The young lady looked at me with an annoyed look and said "I don't know, what's your name?". I told her my name and she very rudely said "it's sitting right there, I called your name some time ago". She explained that they are under new management and wanted to get the word out about the awesome changes at Beach Hut Deli. It was my first time there and I was advised to try the Sunburn, which was delicious with a slight kick of heat. Every quarter my agency puts on a festival for our clients to show our appreciation. We've been looking to into more companies with quality food and that provide catering at decent rate. Today, the owner came to my office and supplied my co-workers with a sample platter. All I can say is, WOW!! My co workers and myself were pleased with the presentation and quality of the sandwiches provided. I love the fact that they have vegetarian options which was a huge hit for me. They also have gluten free options which was important for some of my clients. Beach hut is always consistent no matter which one that you go to. It is a level above the rest. I don't do subway, jersey mike's, etc because of the amount of meat used and the quality of produce. If you do fast food deli Togo's is my go to. But for a great sandwich I go to Beach Hut to get a meaty sandwich. All I have to do is ask my partner if he wants to go and he is ready to go anytime. An hour and a half before they closed no one in the building except for us family and friends no more than seven people. I have ordered online from this Beach Hut Deli many times as I work around the corner and we place large orders for the office. Multiple times, especially recently, the size of mine and my coworkers' sandwiches has been incorrect and the staff has refused a refund of the additional charge for what we did not receive. I have tried to give hem the benefit of the doubt and gone back BUT TIME AFTER TIME they do not give me the size of sandwich I order and refuse a refund of the OVERCHARGE each time. As a Gold River resident, I have been anxiously awaiting the opening of Beach Hut's newest location ever since seeing the sign first go up a couple of months ago. There is something wrong when you can pass two Mr. pickle shops on the way the the closet Beach Hut to your house. The new location, conveniently located in the Bel Air shopping center, will definitely be a welcomed addition. I went with my ever predictable BLT. Despite an almost overwhelming selection of choices on the vast Beach Hut menu, the BLT isn't actually an option. They will definitely make one on request though and they do it about as well as anyone. The best part of the sandwich is a toss up between the bread and the bacon. For the bread you get an unbelievably soft French roll delivered fresh on a regular basis from the Truckee Bread Company (I've inquired). The bacon is as good as it gets and always cooked nice and crispy. What else makes a Beach Hut sandwich so great you ask? It's the fact that they do not skimp on the important ingredients. Take the BLT for example, it always comes heaped up and over flowing with bacon and never a shortage on the tomatoes either. Then last, but not least, let's not forget the fact that they have Dirty's chips. Once I had Dirty's or their close cousin Zapp's for the first time, I knew Frito Lay was never going to fully cut it again. I could almost come here just for the chips. I am deducting one star for today's visit due to the fact that I made a special request that was overlooked and the lettuce was not very fresh. I would expect fresh lettuce from a sandwich shop in their first day of business in a new location. Both of the aforementioned issues are minor, but the difference between three and four stars in my book. I look forward to long and enjoyable future with Gold River's first legitimate sandwich shop. And who knows, maybe one day I will actually forgo the BLT and try one of the many other sandwich options so many others tend to enjoy here. One last note, this place is smaller than many of their other locations. It does not have a whole lot of indoor seating, but since I am not any college anymore and don't have any intentions of hanging out here it will be a non issue for me. read more

NOMNOMNOMNOM Every once in a while I get a sandwich craving.... I love Jacks too but that's not the same craving. I want that mix of bread, meat and lettuce which feels so dense that you think you are eating stew in the form of sandwich. Sure Beach Huts are a little expensive, and maybe if you are looking for a value, you'd go to the Bel Air deli instead... but nothing can really satisfy THE craving for a sandwich like Beach Hut can. I'm just happy that there is one closer to home now. The interior isn't as fancy as some of the other ones and it's a bit small but what I want is that sandwich!!!!!! I came in to pick up my order in gold river California and the staff forgot to make one of the sandwiches. Informed me that they didn't see the order and it was on a different screen. They started making the sandwich and one of the most disgusting experience was the staff making the sandwich didn't have gloves on. It bothered me because I did not witness her wash her hands and even if her hands were washed, it should still be a standard protocol to wear gloves. I then asked her if they usually wear gloves while making sandwiches for their customers and she replied "no, but we wash our hands all the time..." That literally did not occur when she made the sandwich that they forgot to make. In addition, my other co workers order was not right. She ordered the Marley nachos and she has no cream cheese and chili added to it. This is not a place i would recommend for anyone. If I get sick from this, i know why and who to blame! It's disgusting to make a sandwich with no gloves on for someone you don't know. Therefore wearing gloves while you're "clocked in" to work should be a standard "mandatory" procedure!
