It was pretty bland. You have to add hot sauce and salt and pepper for any flavor. The service was decent and the restaurant is comfy. The additional 5% BC fee just adds insult to injury--if this is how customers are treated, maybe it's time to shut the doors. Super yummy brunch! I got a fun teddy graham latte and although I personally thought it could be a bit sweeter.... It was still very good. The bread on this breakfast sandwich was the best part of the meal!!! It was soft, light, and had the perfect crisp to it. I wish the spinach had been cooked a little instead of just being tossed on the sandwich but it was good nonetheless. The hash browns were cooked just right and hot sauce added the perfect extra kick of flavor. Tip: DEFINITELY leverage the Yelp wait list to put your name in before getting to the restaurant, especially during weekends! We arrived after a bachelorette weekend celebration and had a large party. The number in our group changed a couple times because people needed to leave to catch flights, etc. and the staff here were SO accommodating. The hostess was most gracious with updating our requested seating and keeping us in the loop about the wait time. The food here is phenomenal! Highly recommend the jam sampler with fresh bread. They make all the jams in house and it's fun tasting a bit of every one. Our waitress was awesome at introducing things on the menu and making recommendations. Beach Plum offers up a variety of breakfasty magic, including but not limited to: omelettes, pancakes, waffles, a couple Mexican dishes and some Benedicts. Yours truly opted for the 3-egg omelette that comes with 5 ingredients of your choice. I went with smoked andouille sausage, mushrooms, avocado, cheddar and smoked mozzarella. Super tasty and it was giant. Perhaps even better than the omelette, the potatoes were amazing. When I die, I want to be buried in those potatoes. Every time I come here I have great service. The staff is always attentive and the food comes quickly. The restaurant is clean and bright. I usually come by myself and sit at the bar or a table. I know they can get busy and have a wait but I must pick the right times because I never have to wait. I like the option to waitlist yourself on Yelp too. There were quite a few groups there both inside and out. Parking can be a bit challenging normally but it's a little harder now because there is construction next to La costa coffee. This visit I ordered traditional eggs Benedict with my eggs poached medium and potatoes (you also have a choice of fruit). It came out quickly and was perfectly done. The muffin was a bit challenging to cut through, even with a serrated knife but it wasn't hard to chew. The food here is always consistent which I don't find with most breakfast spots and I enjoy coming here. I never feel awkward coming by myself either. I wish it was warm enough to sit on the patio but May gray is keeping it cool. read more

After so many glowing reviews of this place, I was hoping to share a positive experience -- unfortunately, I was heavily underwhelmed and disappointed by my time here at Beach Plum Firstly, I acknowledge that I came later in the day. 45 minutes before closing, I understand that much of the staff were probably ready to soon wrap things up. However, the attitude of the staff was very unfriendly and...zombie-like? Service was extremely slow and our server was very inattentive. Our food did come out at a reasonable time, but the quality of the food was not great. I ordered the chilaquiles without the meat (eggs over easy) and my family ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes and a BLT. We also got two iced matchas and an iced coconut cream latte. The matcha lattes sucked. Zero matcha flavor and just tasted like milk. We sent them back and they came back with barely any more matcha. The woman who I assume made the drinks was also extremely rude and kinda slammed them down on our table. The coconut cream latte was okay, but did not have any caramel or white chocolate like it said it would. All the drinks came with virtually no ice. The BLT was pretty good, and the bacon was cooked perfectly, but the chips it came with were disgusting. Slightly stale and not even salted. I could tell they were made in house, and again, they lacked any flavor. The pancakes were wayyy overcooked and too dense. They were impossible to cut through and extremely chewy. Basically inedible. My chilaquiles lacked flavor, too. Shockingly, the salsa verde was not spicy at all and I had to take three bites just to finally even process the taste of the sauce. Not nearly enough cotija cheese on top (especially given that I got no carnitas on mine, meaning that little extra saltiness from the cheese would've been nice). The chilaquiles would largely benefit from *pickled* onions to at least grant it some more flavor. However, my eggs were cooked perfectly and seemed good quality. Still, I had to salt all of my food with table salt, multiple times, to even get any semblance of taste. I imagine that this place may have a good classic breakfast given that the bacon and eggs were great...but everything else fell utterly short. And with an insanely steep price of ALMOST $100 BEFORE TIP, I recommend taking your business elsewhere. What an insanely expensive breakfast for only three people!!!!! The price is not reflective of the entire experience. Not worth it. read more

I found this brunch place on Yelp while on vacation. It was great because it had a wide variety of food choices with some unique twists, good service, and it's a really nice looking place. So all three categories (food, service, and ambiance) were high quality. I had a healthy Southwest Bowl with roasted sweet potatoes, black beans, roasted corn, cherry tomatoes, avocado, cotija cheese, and eggs. It had all the right protein for me along with the veggies. I had hands down the best breakfast i have had in the last 10 years . This restaurant is hands down a 5 star dining experience. The decor is absolutely lovely and relaxing. I really enjoy the ambiance here . Our server was very friendly, attentive and answered all of our menu questions, making her very helpful. The food is outstanding. The pumpkin spice latte lacked pumpkin flavor, but that's okay. It was still good. I would get the coffee cake to eat with coffee while waiting for your food. Nothing to complain about, but also nothing to boast about. Food - Overall, everyone was pleased with their food. You have a lot of the same brunch offerings that the other places have. Typical breakfast stuff. I got the smoked salmon and potato cakes. It was very good! I also liked that they had Soju Baby Driver (mimosa with Soju instead of champagne). Although it didn't taste like Soju, nor did it taste like orange juice. Price - Some of the items were fairly priced. But I feel like my meal alone (smoked salmon with potato cakes and Soju driver) were very highly priced. Short version ~ just go it never disappoints This was our 2nd visit to Beach Plum as we were in town for the weekend. We visited on a Sunday, Labor Day weekend, around noon. I love that they have the online waitlist feature. When we checked in with the hostess she offered the counter if we did not want to wait. I appreciate that the counter seating is spaced well enough to not feel like you are encroaching on your neighbor. The service was excellent and drinks were quickly served. This visit I opted for two specials; the peach and blackberry toast and a horchata latte. My husband ordered the braised beef machaca hash. The toast was a flavorful change from avocado toast and the ricotta was creamy and a nice contrast to the fruit and multigrain bread. It looked sweet but was not overly so and nicely balanced. The machaca is full of flavor and the portion looked deceivingly small but was filling for my husband. The horchata latte was sweet and good and by my observation at the counter in front of the barista, very popular. The restaurant has a good selection of Monin syrups, so they can customize coffee orders well. read more
