i Purchased a bunch of appliances and 10 months later they called me for the extended warranty so i agreed thinking it would start the day they took the money out of my acccount..... No they said the day they delivered it. so if i never make a repair or call on the appliances they will refund half the money. You only have 30 days and if you miss it oh well to bad for you no refund. They don't warn you send you anything that it is up. the women told me they don't want to pay.... word from her mouth. so don't buy the extended warranty it's a gaff..... read more

I have purchased a handful of appliances from the store. I love that it's local, and you can generally find the same sales people time after time. I have mostly been happy with the final products, which really isn't a reflection of Beach Sales per se (but rather, Electrolux, Kitchenaid, etc.). I had one somewhat negative experience after a delivery person dropped stove pieces outside of my home and tried to deliver without comment (I witnessed). It took an unnecessary amount of discussion with folks back at the store to come up with a repair plan. But ultimately they helped to re-send replacement cast iron parts for what had been dropped and damaged. Most recently, I have grown very frustrated with trying to access the 50% rebate on an unused five-year warranty. I feel that I was misled. It's come to my attention that the "50% back" is actually just for Beach Sales purchases, and it's not a refund check as it had seemed. Not only that, there are many many hoops to jump through. Even after jumping through all the hoops and gathering all the old documents from five years ago AND following the guidelines, I am still waiting six months later with no rebate. No coupon nor check. While the extra five-year warranty sounds like a good idea, don't count on the 50% back rebate. And be sure to ask questions. read more

It's been 2.5 years since our very large purchases were installed. Of course there have been a few issues w/a couple of the items (we bought everything from beach sales). I stand by my last review stating Beach Sales offers the best customer service. They really do stand by their products. We typically go through Bob Murdoch since he was our sales man. Our washing machine just broke and since he is on vacation, we called the store left a message and Allison quickly called back. She was very kind and just as helpful as Bob. I advised her that I attempted to handle the warranty on my own but was unable to get through to anyone. She took over and had someone at my house in just a couple days. The washing machine needed huge repairs and since it would take six weeks to be fixed (parts back ordered), without hesitation she is replacing it. Can't ask for anything more. No arguments no aggravation! We are moving within the year and will definitely be purchasing from them again. My husband and I both agreed that we will never go anywhere else for appliances...even if we get a better deal (also doubtful but who knows). read more

Terrible salesman who try to bait and switch you on arrival. I went in for their 4th of July special from which I had heard of on tv to buy a washer and dryer. The salesman and manager both told me there were no such sale available and tried to make me buy a much higher priced unit. After an hour of back and forth I was basically told to buy the expensive unit or to get out. Come to find out the next day I received a confirmation email that the sale had definitely been active. My dryer had a rubber burning smell, I needed a new one. Thought about supporting local small business during this tough time. So, I got to Beach Sales for a new dryer, didn't really care about any price difference. Just wanna support them. The salesman was busying with his business, good for him. So we look around. Finally, he asked me what model I want, I gave him the model I was looking and said I need a plumber to hook up the machine too. He seemed in a hurry to make a sale, so I made the purchase accordingly. And, that's it. No detail or any after sale instruction, just telling me to contact the plumber at certain time. Two weeks waiting and couldn't get a hold of the plumber due the wrong phone number was given to me by the salesman. Emailed the salesman a few times, finally he provided me with a correct phone number. Called the plumber, he said there will one more week wait time. I was left in completely confusion without knowing who is going to deliver the dryer, and who is going to unhook the dryer and take the old one away. Called the salesman, and he said, he has never promise the exact day which the dryer will be delivered. And, yes, the whole thing is just unpleasant, confusion, long wait time. I'm now still waiting for my new dryer after two weeks. Never again, I would buy from big retailer next time when I need any appliances. At least, I will know exact when the products will arrive. And hire a plumber separately, other than the one who associated with the local sale store. read more

,My wife and I have been searching on-and-off for a refrigerator since late 2019. Finally, we had an idea what we needed as far as capacity, size and style. We were somewhat limited by the height of the space for the refrigerator which limited our options. I really wanted to buy one from local store over a big box store. We went here during the summer and were met by Kellie. She is one of the most knowledgeable people when it comes to appliances, and "service" seems to be her middle name. She quickly pointed out the models that would fit and we completed the sale. Throughout this process she never hid the fact that there would be delays on the manufacturers end due to COVID and the limited staff at the factories. When the Refrigerator was still pending shipment in August, during the tax-free weekend she easily redid the order for us to save us the nearly $100.00 in sales tax, while keeping our order in it's original place in line. These are the types of things she and her company can do that I think would be much more difficult to accomplish at the big box stores. I thoroughly checked their prices against others, including Costco, and they are more than competitive with any other retailer, including the big box stores, so I am more than comfortable ordering my appliances from here. I can recommend Beach Sales without any reservations. The first time we used them we made the mistake of ordering a full size refrigerator instead of a counter depth one and didnt realize the mistake until it was delivered. One call to admit it was all our mistake got the immediate response we will fix your problem and they did for a very nominal redeliver charge. The next time we had already gotten the best price available and had agreed on the price for all the appliances in our new house when we got a call back from Beach Sales that new rebates had co and they were lowering our bill. Ordered an Electrolux 70 series washer and dryer from Bob over the phone (he was very professional and always got back to me on all my questions). Delivery and installation were arranged by Beach (Matt Lynch). Both Beach delivery and their plumber (Matt Hill) arrived at the same time. While the washer/dryer did get installed they left a HUGE mess in the driveway of boxes and Styrofoam. Really? What is the point. This all should have been put back in your van. Called to voice a complaint and was basically told oh well sorry. Did not seem sincere at all. Won't use again or order from them for that matter. Came highly recommended by builder (will be telling him of my experience as well!) Really disappointed :( read more

Yesterday I got a text from my wife while I was at work. Our refrigerator was not running. I called a repairman who was referred to me. I rushed home, he confirmed it was not fixable, took $80 from me and left. It was not a good day. I was referred to Beach Sales who understood the urgency of my situation. I went to big box stores and looked online for other options when I needed to look no further than Beach Sales. They were able to get me a comparable fridge DELIVERED within hours to my home. This place is great if you're looking for appliances. So far, we've purchased a new refrigerator and range from them. we have a rather low 65 1/2" opening for the fridge. They carry one of the only refrigerators over 16 cu ft. that can fit in this opening (we ended up with a kitchen aid 21 cu ft. fridge it's fun - the handles are recessed and the front is smooth, not textured). The staff is extremely knowledgable and helpful. They carry a full range of manufacturers, from Frigidaire to the high end stuff - Sub Zero, Wolf, DCS, Dacor, Bosch... and carry televisions and some Bose products as well. In the summer months they carry Weber grilles as well. If what you're looking for isn't in their show room, just ask. They can probably order it. as of a couple months ago, they just started carrying electrolux appliances (man, are they sexy - especially the luxury racks in the ovens), and the sales staff seemed rather excited about that - as they should be. Also, if you need help with installation of a gas range or dishwasher, they do recommend a company to install it, and they will send all of your info over for them to set up the appointment as well (install plus). The showroom is rather small. It's not flashy or fun, like going to Yale appliances. The building can be a pain in the neck to get to, beause you need to go through "Bell Circle" in Revere in order to get there, then make a U-turn at Wonderland Plaza (don't worry, it's a legal one). if you're a city dweller, it is accessible from the wonderland T station, but i'd really recommend driving, because the Blue Line sucks, and you'll probably end up getting mugged, or at least fondled. read more

We've been going to Beach Sales for over 20 years for all of our appliance. Stove, dishwasher, washing machine and now refrigerator. We walked in at 9 am on a recent weekday and with Mike's assistance, we were finished by 9:31. He made things super easy and double checked on everything for us. A week later, our fridge arrived and the delivery guys couldn't have been nicer! They hauled out the old fridge, lugged in the shiny, new beauty and quickly set her up with handles and leveling. By the way, they were right on time, no waiting! On the way out they played a quick game of b-ball with my son and everyone was happy. we love our new fridge and whatever appliance we need next is coming from Beach Sales! read more

My son bought all his appliances here For his new home. The induction stove did not work properly so the company that does service plans for beach sales came out and ended up replacing the stove. This stove was damaged on the bottom and would not level so they came out again and replaced it again. Well problems once again, one of the top burners does not work properly and was told again that it had to be replaced. Shortly after this a new company hired by beach sales comes out and they tell him it can be fixed. Problem is the parts are on back order. This has been going on for over a year now with no resolution. Beach sales has no answers for him. Sorry but a New stove should not have to be fixed. Stay away from this place. We bought a dishwasher in November, they brought a dented defective one, 2 weeks later they brought another machine, which is leaking and very very noisy. We bought 39dba machine which is the quietest, and received a 62 dba which is almost the loudest. 3 months later, after 5 technician visits they are still refusing to replace my machine. The machine is defective and un-fixable through no fault of ours, and they are not cooperating. They keep sending technicians, and after it was determined nothing can be fixed they came with an excuse that is is "an installation issue", the machine is leaking from the door, nothing to do with the installation, and they are completely ignoring the noise part, but they refuse to replace it. And also, the machine is missing the bottom part, I compared photos from the internet of how the machine should look, our machine looks nothing like that. I am sure if I bought it through Home Depot, I would have gotten a replacement by now. Do not buy anything from them. They are not even trying to mitigate the issue. read more

Had to buy a new a/c for my tenant in RI. Beach Sales answered all my questions during 3 phone calls. (Mind you, I needed a certain make, a certain size, it had to have a sleeve, and it had to be a 220v and it had to be 10,000+ BTU.) Virtually impossible to find, and they had it. Been having issues with beach sales since June 2020. I purchased a speed queen dryer that never worked from the time of installation. Repair man came 3 times and still wasn't fixed. They told me they would not give me a new dryer so I put in a dispute with my credit card company. They finally brought me a new dryer so I cancelled my dispute and paid the credit card of $1141.55. Now beach sales is saying they didn't get paid. I showed them my credit card bill. I reached out to both beach sales and my credit card company numerous times. The owner threatened to take my dryer from me. I told them to take me to court. I will be filing a complaint with Attorney general's office and also for harassment. read more

We live in a condo with a very small laundry space, a total pain to get appliances in and out of. And because it is so small, we have to buy the smallest washing machines and dryers, which are generally not of the highest durability. So in the 12 years we've been here, we've gone through 2 washers and 3 dryers. We needed a new washer this time, so we really wanted to go away from the usual brands. The big box stores were no help; they had the usual brands which had worn out. We tried a couple indepedent places too, and no luck there. Then we found Beach Sales. They have a great website, and a nice selection of brands we didn't see anywhere else. So we found a good washer at a good price. But the real key in my high rating is the service. A wonderful woman named Marcy helped us all the way through after I placed the order. She confirmed the pricing, the brief delay in getting the exact model in (which in my mind was no delay at all, because it was still within a couple days), and arranged a great delivery time. She was very prompt, friendly, and knowledgable. And then, the delivery itself was fantastic. The guys showed up right on time. They were courteous, fast, and really knew their stuff. We had a bracket from the old washer that I wasn't sure wold fit the new one, but they made it work with no problem. They worked quickly and efficiently in the tight space, and didn't crash anything into anything else, or put gouges in the walls, or anything like that. Getting all of the tubes and plugs arranged while pivoting these heavy machines in a tiny space is a real pain. But they did it expertly. And to top it off, they left everything super-clean: no dirt on the light-colored carpet, no scuff marks on the tile, no packing material or tape or anything left laying around. Just great, all the way around. I highly recommend this company. I really got that friendly, small business-type treatment, which I just have not gotten from the big box stores. My purchase, or attempt to purchase, 5 appliances here was an absolute mess. They ended up having to refund us for three of them after waiting 9 weeks for items that were all IN STOCK when we purchased them. They were supposed to come within 2 weeks and we received zero contact regarding the delays. They broke over $150 worth of personal items that I said I would move and they insisted I didn't. The delivery guy said the fridge would be a tight squeeze but it will fit, Bob, the owner called me screaming about "customer responsibility" and that I need to pay $400 more for a smaller fridge. Meanwhile the delivery guy is still saying it should fit. The washer they delivered was not what I ordered, something else Bob wanted to yell at me about. He could not get me the one I wanted for at least a few more months (meanwhile they had taken my old but functioning one away and could not return it). Big box store got it to me in 2 days. I wanted to shop local, but it was a disaster. The owner is aggressive, unhelpful and does not allow you to shop around the store. You have to go to his little desk and he tells you what you have to buy. And then orders whatever he wants, ignoring your plainly stated specifications. read more

Not only did they go above and beyond with customer service they gave me a loaner so I wouldnt lose my produce and meats in the meantime. The owner Howie was wonderful. Costumer service, wonderful. My daughter just bought a dishwasher from their store sight unseen and has been very happy. She made a call spoke to Howie he was able to work with her right over the phone. We've purchased a washer and a dryer from them as well as an air conditioner. I can't comment on their service department as the appliances work very well so far, but I was very pleased with the purchasing experience. While their showroom is pretty small, their website has a huge inventory of appliances at a very reasonable prices(meaning you can hardly even find any places online that have better deals) The delivery was only $20(surely beats $60+ at big box stores) and the delivery guys were extra helpful and actually showed up on time. I have a pretty narrow door to the basement so the washer and dryer wouldn't fit. They unhinged the door, but that still wasn't enough so they left saying that they would come back if I remove the door jamb. I did that, and they actually came back another day to bring the appliances down the stairs!!! Purchased large washer and dryer at prices that were comparable to big box stores. Salesperson asked me if I even needed to purchase a dryer based on what I was saying!! At home, it was a tight fit that was hampered by the placement of the electrical outlet. Deliverymen suggested I have the outlet moved, then call them back to finish the job. When I called back, there was no question. The deliverymen were scheduled to return within a week (my own schedule delayed it), arrived and slipped the unit into place. Based on the recommendation of a friend who works servicing appliances, we went to Beach Sales to buy a Washer/Dryer combo unit. I was skeptical at first, figuring they would be overpriced and not have a big selection. I was wrong on both counts! First of all, during Black Friday and the following week, at least, they matched the sales prices on the multiple items we were looking at, without my even asking them to do so. Their sales specials are fantastic! And they sell many more items than what you seen on the floor in the showroom; you simply have to ask if you don't see what you're looking for. We had some complications on delivery- our doorway was too narrow, so Howie recommended movers that specialize in hoisting over the balcony, etc. (Titan of Malden.) Naturally I called around a few other movers first to compare prices, and happily I learned that Titan was price-competitive and I liked their method of pricing more- they charge a flat fee for the first hoisted appliance, and then a much smaller flat fee per other appliance going in, or out. Very fair, and transparent, no B.S. like some companies (one wanted to charge $275 per hour for travel time! from Somerville to Everett !! Give me a break !!!). So, given that we now learned the doorway was very narrow, it made sense to replace all (old) appliances, even the ones that were still working. (More cost effective than having to hoist one or two again, a year later...) So we ended up getting a new stove and a new fridge, in addition to the Washer/Dryer combo. Every single item was the same price or cheaper than the big box stores' equivalent prices. And Howie even did us one better, he knew we were kind of in a rush, and when the stove we ordered turned out to be not in the warehouse for a while, he gave us a much nicer stove, better features, for the same price as our basic one purchased. When screws to attach the door handle were missing from the box (stuff like this always happens!) he ordered them for us and had them shipped to our house, pronto. Best of all, when I made a mistake in calculating a price, and lost my cool in the most embarrassing way, he was very gracious and gentlemanly about it all. I only have gratitude and respect for this place. In short, Beach Sales is superb. They are professional and courteous, and they sell good products for very fair prices. If you think they're overpriced, well, all I can tell you is that maybe in the past they were, but that is no l longer true (and I grew up a Filene's Basement fanatic, always chasing the best bargain of a good deal). You may think you're getting a better deal by going to L. or H.D. but you know what? You will never get the kind of personal service from them, if and when something goes wrong. And with those stores, big things do go wrong and those problems don't get resolved so quickly or efficiently as they do by Beach Sales. My original fears and skepticism were completely unfounded, and I plan to go to Beach Sales in the future and recommend them to my friends, too, whenever appliances need to be replaced. read more

What was important to me was that they listened to us..they took the time to listen to what was our priority, and then found us the best products for the best price. I live about ten miles away, so I called Beach Sales first about a 32" TV set and the lady said they had two of them for about $300. So I paid turnpike and tunnel tolls and drove there only to find they both were display models and they had no others. I told her it was a gift for my daughter and she said she'd knock a few bucks off for the display model. When she went to write it up, she asked the owner, telling him she did not have her glasses on and didn't see the 'display only' sign. He said "absolutely not, nothing off!" I left the store angry, never to return and paid the tolls and went to a store nearer my house, bought the 32" TV and saved thirty dollars.. Being in business since 1947 does not impress me. I am a woman with a disability and use a wheelchair. Last year when remodeling my kitchen, to make it handicap accessible, I purchase my wall oven, stove hood and washing machine from Beach Sales. Two weeks ago, I went to Beach Sales to see if they carried apt size dryers. Because of my limited space, I was not sure if the dryer would fit, so I politely asked the salesman if one of his staff could stop by my home to measure the space to see if it would fit. I live five mins away and it would of taken 5 mins to measure. He was not receptive to my request, and suggested that he could give me a contractor, and mentioned that the contractor would charge me. I wasn't doing any construction, that warranted an expensive contractor, all I was requesting was someone to stop by and look at the space. He spent more time giving me other ridiculous alternatives, instead of just saying, I'll have one of my personnel stop by, it was a guarantee purchase, I wasn't "window shopping"! You would think in this day and age, local businesses would be "handicap friendly", it would of made this store look good and I would of referred other people with disabilities, who are also in the process of remodeling their homes. Our money is good also.....I went to Gray's Appliance in Melrose, 20 mins away and they sent a salesman out to survey the dryer space, I now am the owner of a high end dyer and will be recommending Gray's to others. read more

I suffered with a Kitchenaid oven for 10 years: the self-clean feature blew out the thermostat (which wasn't accurate to begin with) and when I contacted Kitchenaid their advice was to not use the feature. Consumer Reports wasn't helpful, as it listed the Kitchenaid models as "highly reviewed," then featured reviews complaining about this exact problem. I went to a big box store but they didn't have any models that would fit my 24-inch space--other than a Kitchenaid--and they referred me to Beach Sales. Three salesmen greeted me warmly and listened to what I needed and wanted, then had me work with Mike Myers. He suggested a Bosch that uses steam cleaning instead of intensely high heat to avoid the problem of burning out the thermostat. Since this was a new model I couldn't find any online reviews, but Bosch ovens received high reviews on many sites, including Amazon. Mike and the other staff in Beach Sales were attentive and knowledgeable, and able to answer all my questions, explaining the cut-out dimensions, confirming that the unit would fit in the tight space in my kitchen, describing the new self-clean feature, the internal dimensions, shelf sizes and quantities and addressing every other concern I had. I'm a professional chef so it's important that my home oven cooks properly, keeps the temperature, and works as it should--which the Kitchenaid did not. Mike and his crew went out of their way to educate me, then made the buying and delivery fast and painless. I highly recommend Beach Sales, and will definitely return when I need other appliances for my house and my tenant apartment. It's nice to see small, independent dealers flourishing in these days of large corporate stores. If the guys at Beach Sales treat all their customers the way they treated me--which I have no doubt they do--they should be around for at least another 70 years. Long story short...don't buy anything they do not have in stock. If you want something else (i.e. not a white washer & dryer) I highly recommend you shop elsewhere. On March 2, 2011 I specially ordered a sepia colored Bosch washer & dryer from Beach Sales. I was told that it would arrive in plenty of time for installation in my new condo on March 19th. I checked back several times and on or about March 9th was told that the appliances had arrived! On March 19th I spoke with Beach to confirm my 1:00 delivery time. When they had not arrived by 3:30 I called them. I was told that they had been trying to reach me all day and now the delivery would have to be rescheduled (turns out they left 1 message on my office phone). When I called March 21st to reschedule I was told that the dryer had been dented when they unpacked it for delivery and that a replacement was expect in time for installation on March 24th or March 29th at the latest. When I requested temporary use of the dented dryer I was told that the "dented" dryer was completely inoperable. On March 23rd a different Beach rep called to tell me that the replacement dryer could arrive earlier but they were not expecting it for 5 to 10 days. He responded to my (admitted) rant about the careless delivery people by telling me that the dryer was already damaged when it arrived at their warehouse. When I asked why no one noticed I was told that Beach does not inspect every delivery! I am left to believe that Beach accepted deliver of an inoperable special order item and 10 days later attempted to deliver it. Due to a combination of Beach's incompetence & complete lack of customer service, I had to cancel my order and abandon hope of a sepia washer and dryer. I bought a GE drop in stove from Beach Sales about 10 years ago for a unit I own in a 3 family house. The thermostat in the stove broke and the cost of replacing the stove was way more than I wanted to spend. I went back to Beach Sales and Bob Murdock was very helpful in tracking down the right thermostat, ordering it and have a tech guy install it. I feel compelled to write this review because Bob Murdoch may be one of the most helpful and conscientious sales reps. I have ever worked with. This guy knows his stuff. He is honest and goes above and beyond to make sure you get what you need. I am in a bit of a dilemma because my counter depth Amana of 15 years is heading out to pasture and I need to replace it ASAP. Problem is that they make the new refrigerators 1 inch bigger than my cut out allows. Bob has researched several manufacturers to see how he could help and what he could do. I have yet to get the fridge because of the cabinet dilemma. We may be getting new cabinets first. If you want knowledge and service, Bob Murdoch at Beach Sales is your man. It is so refreshing to have someone actually know what they are talking about and takes the time to share it.
