My friend and I were camping near Neptune State Park and came in for breakfast. The coffee was delicious and so was the breakfast sandwich and breakfast burrito. This place is absolutely amazing! The food here is fresh, healthy, delicious and it came out so quickly. I found the service and selection especially impressive for our little mixed group of ages and dietary restrictions. Our overall experience was pushed over the top by the demeanor, generosity and hospitality of everyone on the staff. We were given samples of their amazing cold brew (so smooth and tasty), a scrumptious vegan muffin for the road and then, when they heard we were en route to the Oregon Coast Aquarium, they gave us free tickets that someone had gifted one of their employees! I was truly blown away by the overall attitude and authenticity of everyone on the staff here! I hope this new spot keeps this heart and soul attitude as a solid foundation. We went there on a nice weekend. We have one 4 year old and a 1 year old. Places are hard for us. The service was unbelievable. And the Meal matched. We had some sandwiches, salads and soups and all were very good. Kids items were great too. Have a good selection of wines and beer on tap. Also serve the breakfast menu at all hours. And have an espresso machine for the afternoon coffee. We love Yachats and will continue to add this to the list of restaurants we like in town! read more

My husband and I recently had house guests who are vegan (also, one of them is a chef). We took them to the Beach Street Kitchen and we were all very impressed. Brain pointed out the vegan options already on the menu and then Thomas explained that they could "vegan-ize" many of the other items on the menu. All four of our meals were excellent and the guys couldn't have been more welcoming and gracious. They were a little on the slow side getting the food to us, but we chalked that up to them being brand new and still getting their sea legs. All in all, a wonderful outing and a very promising addition to the Yachats culinary scene. read more

I really wanted to like this place... a quaint little back-street "hole-in-the-wall" just off the waterfront. The warm wood interior finishes give a clean, contemporary feel. There aren't many tables, and diners can view the open kitchen, which appeared clean and well-organized. The menu is somewhat limited, mostly a selection of breakfast items. There's a small group of items that could be called lunch; 3 or 4 different grilled panini sandwiches and a grilled burrito. I opted for a grilled cheese panini which was served with a small bowl of homemade veggie soup. The sandwich was hard-toasted and dry... I detected no trace of sauce or condiment... a grill-marked plank of panini with a thin layer of melted cheese, one sad little slice of tomato and a couple of wilted micro-greens on top. It was so dry that if I hadn't had the small cup of soup to dunk the bread I wouldn't have been able to eat it. The soup itself was a slightly purple, watery broth with pieces of celery and carrot. There was absolutely no flavor other than what one might expect if you rinsed a pot of beets and made soup out of the water. Underseasoned would be an understatement. My daughter tried the breakfast burrito: egg, cheese, potato and a little onion rolled up in a flour tortilla and grilled. Like my sandwich, there didn't seem to be a trace of sauce, though there was a small cup of pico-like salsa on the side, which I stole for my arid panini. The staff was cordial but seemed to have forgotten that the reason they are there is to prepare and serve food. The cook seemed to be entirely serial in his cooking... finish one ticket, then start the next. There didn't seem to be much multi-tasking or urgency, and the result was a lengthy wait even though the restaurant doesn't have very many tables to serve. The lone waiter, apparently in an effort to be friendly, spent 10 minutes in animated conversation with the diners at another table. Nothing wrong with that except all the other customers were ignored as if non-existent. I appreciate friendliness in a server, but there's a difference between engaging in a brief conversation and telling someone your life story. Do you know our server took piano lessons as a child? I do. In summary, the Beach Street Kitchen fails to live up to its location and potential. I'd recommend that the proprietors take an honest, objective look at what they're putting on the plate and refocus on the priorities that make any restaurant great: good food and good service. read more

My husband and I had two early breakfasts, the first to try the place, the second because we wanted more. We had lovely frittatas with balanced, nuanced layers of flavor, and the roasted winter vegetables with a sauce using the perfect amount of horse raddish. The house-made hot sauces added real zing to the frittatas. Even the house coffee was special. My only slight comment would be to offer some kind of bread with the frittatas. This spot is just off the main road in Yachats. They serve salads, soups, paninis and frittatas. Service is excellent, welcoming without being intrusive and offers good food. While the other cafes were packed to the brim on a busy summer weekend, this place was a welcome respite from the crowds, in a bright and clean space. Noticed all of the employees--servers, chef, owner--in a good mood, adding to the experience of this place having "good vibes." Menu is somewhat limited, but this may expand with time. Stopped in to BSK on a recent trip to the Oregon Coast. What a great experience! The restaurant is right on the beach with a serene view of the sand and surf. The service was friendly and attentive. We were seated immediately after parking on one of the side streets nearby. I had a breakfast sandwich which was delicious. Would recommend highly for those stopping in Yachats-has that small beach town local café feel that is missing from some of the older restaurants in the area. read more

What a gem! We stopped by for lunch after a hike at Cape Perpetua. The menu is amazing - frittatas, paninis, burritos, soups, salads, etc. It was hard to choose. I got the panini-pressed burrito with house-made seitan - delicious! My husband got the caprese panini which was also terrific. I think they might have the only cold brew coffee in town so we got some to go and it was really good - very rich and smooth. We'll definitely be back on our next trip to Yachats. read more

Wanted to try someplace different from our regular eateries when we're in Yachats, and saw this on the map so took a shot. What a treasure! The hospitality of the guys that run the place was amazing - gave us the history of how they came to acquire it, explained how they did the remodeling and furnishings all themselves, and their plans for the future. Food was exceptional (salad so pretty I was hesitant to mess with it, and a delicious meatball panini). They just ran out of the lemonade I ordered, and while I was sipping the complementary jasmine iced tea they offered, I look over and see one of the guys squeezing lemons to get a fresh batch ready before we finished lunch. Lovely decor and fabulous location looking out to the ocean. Plan to squeeze in as many visits as we can during our stay. Highly recommend. read more
