My husband had scheduled 2 electricians come to our home for quotes. Craig from Beacon Electrical Services was the first to arrive. Within 5 minutes of Craig being there and speaking to him I called my husband to have him cancel the appointment with the other electrician - come to find out the other electrician hadn't shown up yet, and wasn't going to, because he got the dates mixed up... After the service I received and the knowledge I walked away with, I completely understand the 5 star ratings that Beacon and its employees have earned and rightfully deserve. I explained to Craig that we are in the process of preparing the house to sell and needed one light fixture/switch fixed and one installed. He had diagnosed and fixed the issue with the back-porch light within minutes. He installed the light fixture in the master bath and during the testing of the fixture found that the dimmer switch did not work. He went out of his way to fix the dimmer switch and made a trip back to the warehouse to get the part so he could fix it that day. Craig was so thoughtful of our situation. As a fellow Veteran - another benefit of hiring Beacon - they take care of our Vets! - he understood that we would most likely have an inspection of the house. He offered to check the outlets, circuit breaker box and smoke detectors around the house for us knowing that those are the items that would be checked during an inspection. He advised us about the benefits of getting a surge protector put on our circuit breaker box at some point - something I had no knowledge of - and pointed out that our basement smoke detector was no longer functioning. The smoke detector was replaced in minutes. Craig not only addressed the issues we initially hired him for - quickly - he went FAR ABOVE and FAR BEYOND what was asked of him to make sure that we were taken care of and that our house is that much closer to being market ready. We did our homework looking for a reliable, trustworthy company to take care of our electrical needs. 9 Aug, 2021 I want to congratulate electrician David Radwell Jr. for a fantastic job done in my home today. Over the weekend the outside circuit breaker packed it in leaving my young family without air conditioning and without the use of the kitchen, washer and dryer. I was impressed by David's promptness and curtesy along with a top rated professional attitude and work ethic. Beacon communicated clearly when the technician would arrive at my home. They called me just prior to the technician's arrival. The project itself was quite costly with the removal of the outside circuit breaker and a complete replacement of the electrical panel inside meeting all current codes. David was patient and kind to explain the project cost options as well as financing options. He clearly explained the details with patience. The Job took longer than expected as the new wiring into the house met with some difficulty. David arrived at about 830am this morning. Despite the fact he had a two hour drive home he stayed until 7pm to finish the Job. He even took time to chat with me about his profession after the job was finished. I am well impressed by his level of knowledge not only about the technical aspect but the inspection and business sides of his work as well. Bob, the owner did the initial survey of our old house with sparky electrical wiring. Was professional, empathetic and competitive. Bob and his team use IPad's and take lot's of pictures, so there's no confusion. Prompt email with a "menu", allowing me to stay within budget- nice. Deal agreed. We get a courtesy call from Dee the day before- 8 am, 2 men for 2.5 days for an old house re-wiring job. 7:45 am Carlos calls while en route to see if we're on schedule- great communication! Sets expectations: we tour the house together, and he explains everthing that we were going to do, goes over the 5 pages of notes. We add a few outlets, move some, delete others. Same price! Courtesy: Carlos and Victor super respectful to my wife and I...ask permission for this, for that, never assuming. Professional: Great "can-do" attitudes, super efficient and intelligent . Victor offers to help me with an old plumbing fixture! They give us their cell numbers so we can communicate as problems crop up (yes, but all were solved). Repeat performance: Carlos gave us a bid on a small rental house, was able to do some needed repairs; same geat quality. We have multiple properties, have remodeled 5 houses in 10 months and Beacon is far and away the best value, and most professional team that we've encountered. They were responsive and got the job done but they were a bit expensive. They have an IPad app that calculates the job detailing what is to be done with prices. They quoted a breaker install for $175 to install a $20 breaker. While the labor was included it seemed a bit high. They quoted a disconnect box with a pig tail for $450, again the materials were only about $30 and they didn't install the pig tail. Minor points and I was stuck because I needed the repairs. It would have been better if they could better explain the pricing but they couldn't. I received the invoice that I thought would have the labor and material detail but it only had the items listed and the total price not even the individual prices for each line item. I reached out to the company to get a detailed invoice, they said it could be done but would be difficult. They said they would provide that but never did. I suspect that they count on this lack of detail and people that don't understand what is involved to hide the true cost. If you are in a pinch and don't mind paying the price, the quality of the work, the time they spend explaining what they are going to do was excellent. In the end it was 4 hours counting the time for them to get about $100 worth of parts and complete the job. If I had the time I would go with a company that worked on a time and materials basis. read more

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Beacon and their employees! Jesse and FrancIs worked on my house and they were wonderful! They are professional, knowledgeable, kind, helpful, and will do what it takes to ensure that you are safe. Not only were they able to fix every problem they found in a reasonable amount of time, they were priced extremely well. They quoted us a price originally during the diagnostic but once they got back to fix everything, they realized that there was more issues and problems but we were not charged anymore than we were quoted! There were no hidden costs and we did not feel like they were finding things and adding to the bill. I am not sure how companies do this but I was impressed with their customer service! Not only did they do their job but they educated me on everything they were doing, and why they were doing it. Francis was great at explaining everything, every step of the way! I know what was done on my house, why it was done, where everything is, and what needs to be done in the future if I choose to put an addition on the house. Our experience with Beacon Electrical Services has left me and my wife very pleased and impressed with the work they done for us. We had a fan installed in our newly constructed deck enclosure. There was no supporting wiring or cabling for a fan installation. Bob Hanifin (the owner) and his technical assistant and electrician Brandon Lewis formulated a plan for the fan installation and support wiring needed for an outside environment. These gentlemen are great electrician, Bob runs his company with the utmost respect for customers' needs and desires. Brandon is an exceptional and knowledgeable electrician who works hard to give us a perfect installation. He was determine to complete the work to our satisfaction and did precisely that! I felt as if the value of the job done far exceeds the price of the job itself! I would recommend these guys to anybody in the area in need of a quality, reliable and affordable electrician. We lost power on the second floor of our home just as we brought home our newborn baby girl. Beacon Electrical was highly rated on Yelp and on Angie's List, so we gave them a call. The company's answering service got us on the calendar and, within a few days, Lloyd arrived to help us repair the issue with our panel. He was able to restore electricity to the second floor - including the baby's new nursery! While he was here, I asked him to provide an estimate for child-proofing the electrical work in our home, to include outlets, smoke detectors, and carbon monoxide detectors. Lloyd did that and more! He noticed some electrical repairs that needed to be done, worked efficiently, and provided a prompt estimate for the work. He completed as much as he could that day, then returned during another visit to complete the project. Lloyd was prompt, attentive, efficient and extremely knowledgeable (with decades of relevant experience!). It was a pleasure working with him. We expect to have the Beacon team return to install ceiling light / fan wiring throughout the house. read more

This is an unusual company; electricians that will do smaller jobs are rare (ask me about my last experience!), and ones that are timely, courteous, knowledgable and professional are almost non-existent. In addition to fixing the fan controls in the master bath, the front lamp post, installing new outlets (outdoors and in), and replacing several GFCI outlets, Beacon also inspected our control panel, where they found some wiring that needed to be corrected (which they did, along with installing a surge protector for the house). All the folks I met were professional and very knowledgeable (thank you Jordan, Dan, and Thayne!). They showed up on time, did quality work, were helpful (explaining what they were doing and allowing me to watch so I could learn), and got done by the time I needed to leave for an appointment. Their concern for the customer is shown by the follow-up calls I received to make sure that I was satisfied with the work and my experience. If you need work done - hire these folks! read more

I had a great experience with Beacon Electrical Services. They replaced all of my switches and plugs, which were starting to go bad. In parts of my house I had no electricity at all. It was all because of the flimsy back-stab or stab-lock wiring technique used 15 years ago by my builder. We thought it would be a pretty straight-forward job, but it became apparent that the builder also failed to provide any slack wiring for any switch or outlet so Beacon had to add work to the job to splice in extensions, which they did not charge me for. This added a lot of labor. While doing this job they looked at the inside of my electrical panel and found (again) flimsy builder grad crap and the questionable use of slim-line breakers and evidence of burning on the main bus bar. So I had Beacon also replace the electrical box. My electrical system is now in much better shape. My service technicians were Alex, Joey and Manuel. Each provided high quality professional service to me. I am very happy. read more

Everyone hates to use contractors because it's really hit or miss with who is going to walk into your door. We have had bad experiences with contractors in the past and I just wanted to praise Beacon Electrical and their knowledgeable and friendly staff. We experienced a power surge at night that was due to an ice storm. We waited until the next day to call and they were able to send someone out very quickly. Victor came in and assessed our situation and it didn't look good. He was so friendly and you could tell that he was an experienced electrician that was also compassionate about our family's situation. All of our expectations were exceeded and our issue was resolved quickly. If you are researching electrical companies for your own needs than I would highly recommend that you go with this company. They get an A+ for service, experience, and for having great employees on their team. I know I will be calling them again if we are ever in need of an electrician. read more

I had an issue with some outlets that stopped working. After being pretty much blown off by another company (said they'd call back to schedule an appointment, never heard from them again), my husband called Beacon Electrical Services. Brandon came out the next day, right when he was scheduled to arrive, and was quickly able to diagnose the problem. He gave us a few different estimate options, since the problem was much bigger and more expensive than we were expecting. Could we have gotten it fixed cheaper with another company? Maybe, but Brandon said he could fix everything that day, and the work was warrantied. We also received a military/first responder discount. So he spent almost the entire day replacing outlets and fixing wiring all over the house. Within 24 hours of calling Beacon, everything works again. We are members of Beacon's Lighthouse Club because we were so impressed with work they did for us previously installing an EV charger. When my 11 year old water heater started leaking out the pressure release valve, I called them and Tyriece (a Master Plumber!) came by a few hours later to assess. He gave me his opinion on what was happening, and provided two options for me to consider. I chose replacement, and Tyriece scheduled the work for two days later. Before leaving, he set up a drainage system so the constant leaking wouldn't flood my basement. He and his apprentice Luis came right on time two days later and had the new heater installed within two hours. Before leaving, Tyriece explained how the new heater worked, including the role of the new expansion tank. He answered all my questions, and was personable throughout the entire time. It was my second outstanding experience with Beacon, and I won't call anyone else for my electrical and plumbing needs! read more

I would not recommend Beacon Home Services. They installed my tankless water heater, and a few years latter, when it began leaking, the experience went downhill fast. I was charged a $500 diagnostic fee on arrival, then told I'd have to pay full labor costs for warranty parts, even when the first repair attempt failed and the leak continued. They replaced one part, the leak remained. Then they said another warranty part needed replacing and I'd have to pay more labor again. When I raised concerns, I was told a manager would contact me. No one did. After days of silence, I had to email them myself, and only then did I get a voicemail saying they issued a partial refund and had "called the wrong number." I ended up hiring a different plumber, who fixed the issue completely and charged me less than Beacon's first attempt. Poor communication, high fees, and no resolution from Beacon. I strongly recommend choosing another company for plumbing or water‑heater service. read more

Actually there was no significant labor or need for rewiring. The tech did mention about removing the old cable and putting in new but it actually was not a requirement and the tech said that generally the cable does not go bad. The labor consisted of expending the existing hole with a drill bit so that the new connectors could be passed to snap onto the cable. The company that I finally went with (also a well known bona fide licensed electrical company with experienced master electricians) ultimately charged me $398 for removing the cable and putting in new one (at my request), drilling two holes to hang the transformer, and drilling two holes for each light plate for a total of 3 hours . Additionally the Beacon tech said he was charging me $250+ per stair. I believe companies should be able to make some profit but I consider Beacon prices outrageous. It is not their electrical expertise that is in question but the price. Beware! JT read more

The measure of a good company is how they handle themselves when things go wrong. I have hired Beacon twice. The first time was wonderful which is why I called them without consideration of any other company when I needed an electrician again. This time, we ended up with a scheduling hiccup that was their fault. They handled themselves with exceptional professionalism. They made every effort to reschedule my appointment ASAP and to make sure I was satisfied with their work when they were done. Manuel was polite and explained how to use my remotes for the new fans. He was so quiet while he worked, at one point I completely forgot he was in my house. And he cleaned up so well that you couldn't tell he was here after he had left! So all in all I will be calling them when I need an electrician again. Problems happen - you want a company that is willing to work to correct the problem until the customer is satisfied. Beacon Electrical Services, Inc. troubleshot a flickering light issue in our home. They quickly isolated it to our Circuit Breaker Panel. The panel was the original with the home, so we were provided with a few estimates to correct the problem to include grooming the panel to replacing it. We ended up replacing the panel and added a surge protector. Rich was very professional and friendly. He had us come down to look before, during and after the work was done. He also found and corrected other problems in the panel (double feeds, double returns, and a stray hot wire). Additionally to the professionalism of Rich, the call center for Beacon Electrical Services was a pleasant surprise. They answer right away, you get a real person, and they know what you are talking about. We feel very good about the whole thing. Our issue was resolved, we have a new Circuit Breaker panel, we have a surge protector, and we made a new friend. read more

I would like to express my complete satisfaction with my Beacon Electrical Services experience. They truly, "Had me at Hello". From the moment they arrived they were nothing but professional. They wore the foot coverings, they assesed the problem and gave me a very fair price quote which, did not change even when they ran into some difficulty (tile was too narrow for the electrical box to fit). Then they (Victor and Berry) went to work. They explained every thing as they went along, they were very personable and pointed out many potential dangers that I had lurking in my kitchen and ehy were funny too. Beacon Electrical Services, Inc. was absolutely wonderful to work with. Brandon was the electrician who helped resolve several issues we were having with light fixtures, replaced our attic fan and provided thorough estimates for several projects we were interested in. I like that Beacon did estimates with several different options and they also took pictures of the electrical wiring in the attic so I couldn't see more details. Brandon stayed late in order to do the needed fixes and came back on his own time when I called with a concern. Beacon is professional, prompt, courteous and easy to work with. Response time is great and once they give an estimate, there aren't any add-on repair costs with the project. I highly recommend Beacon. When we decided to repair/replace 3 very old toilets in the house, we contacted a number of different providers, based on recommendations by Angi. Beacon Home Services responded VERY QUICKLY to our inquiry, and sent CARLOS out to do an assessment and provide us a quote. I was thoroughly impressed with Carlos' professionalism, appearance, respectfulness, and his assessment; and the follow-ups by office staff. After Carlos' visit I actually contacted 2 of the other providers and canceled their visits... no need to look any further! Carlos came out yesterday to perform the work. Carlos did a terrific job replacing 3 toilets, replacing a valve in our Moen shower fixture, cleaning the tub drain, and swapping out the InSinkErator water filter under our kitchen sink. Because of Carlos, we'll likely look first to Beacon Home Services for future plumbing needs! read more
