Good food - went with my three younger boys and the server was so patient and kind every time I requested more napkins or Anything. He kept the drinks full. I wish I would've remembered my receipt or got his name because it's probably the best service I've had in a long time. Now, we arrived just after the dinner rush and I feel it took way too long to get our food. They may need to look into getting more piZza ovens or something. My son ordered the kids Mac and cheese and I was disappointed to find out it was comparable to Kraft boxed Mac and cheese. The only difference was it cost $5! It also came with a fruit cup. I felt the price for that was incredibly ridiculous. At least put some fresh fruit on the plate from the salad bar!! I particularly like the Beau Jo's in Idaho Springs the most, but this one is also good! The seating area is somewhat small, but it works as long as there's not a big party. Honey with the pizza crust is the greatest idea ever, we got a 5 pounder for 6 of us, and an order of Nachos. We couldn't decide on toppings, so we got half and half (which to our happiness, the toppings were also half priced when only on half the pizza). Our total was about $60 (with tip) for the 6 of us. Whenever we have people visit from out of state we make a point of introducing them to Beau Jo's, the one exception is anyone in town from the North East, they like paper with ketchup slathered on it! So anyway, we had visitors from Texas this passed weekend and so we had Beau Jo's. As usual the Mountain Pies we ordered were amazing and as usual our company was confounded by the dipping honey. We've never had a bad pie from this place and I hope that we never do. Can't wait till someone else comes to visit, maybe we can find a way to stop in even if we don't have company. It has been a few years since I have been here. The last time was when they were still at the 80th Wadsworth location. Was pleasantly surprised upon walking in with the lighting, décor and everyone looking like they were having a good time. The menu has been updated since I last saw the menu. We started off with the stuffed mushrooms. So much cheese which made me very happy. It does become a little rubbery when the dish cools off. Next, we had the antipasto salad which really hit the spot. The lettuce was fresh and crisp, just the right amount of toppings and the dressing was great! Their pizza is delicious, when they get the order right. I've only ordered here twice (for take out). Both times, they didn't make the pizza the way I ordered it. The first time, I ordered the Margherita pizza and they forgot to put basil in it. Uhh that's like the whole point of a Margherita pizza. The second time I ordered the same thing but asked for pizza sauce (reiterated this like 3 times on the phone) instead of just olive oil. And they forgot to put pizza sauce on it. This location is way nicer than the dingy old location further up Wadsworth. Their food quality seems better, as well. A little pricier than your average pizza joint, but the quality is good, and the toppings are fresh. Service is also very friendly and accommodating. They have a lunch buffet, which is a good deal, and they also have a small happy hour menu, which includes pizzas, apps, and drinks. It's also very convenient for us, since I live and work in Arvada. Oh, and we saw Joe Biden and his wife here accidentally, right before the last election. It was a surprise, nobody knew they were coming, but it was a nice surprise. I'll admit, when i first went to Beau jo's in high school, I had the lunch buffet and I was utterly utterly disappointed. So much so that I refused to go back until 6 years later when my boyfriend insisted we try it since he'd never been there. We got the Cajun pizza and wow it was delicious! I loved the warm honey you can just drizzle on the mountain crust and eat like a mini dessert. I went back again with my cousins because one of them is gluten intolerant so I ate half of her gluten-free vegetarian pizza. That was pretty good but I agree the crust is weird, it's like a really hard cracker or something. I went back the next day because it was my bf's birthday he really wanted to eat there before his party. We got the Little Sicily or whatever I can't remember, something like that, and that was really good too. Both times I went with my bf our server was a cute girl named Jessica who gave us great service. She refilled our drinks a lot and checked up on us often. Pizza has some potential, but from someone who is used to Chicago deep dish, this just didn't cut it for me. The crust has a decent amount of flavor and although I'm not a big honey guy, I would recommend adding it to the crust as a dessert. The sauce needs some work, it's too watery and lacks consistency. Adding higher quality ingredients (meats) would bring this pizza up a huge notch and for the price you pay, I can't imagine that it would raise food cost too much. Overall, it's okay and I would eat it again if I had to, but wouldn't be my first choice. Side note: the house pale ale was very good, I do recommend having a beer or two if there. read more

First time trying Beau Jo's but I've heard stories and seen it on Man vs Food. The pizza was just ok...I believe the crust was baked first and then they put the fillings in there. I'm really disappointed. This pizza does not have Colorado Style crust. That's why you choose Beau Jo's, to eat the crust with honey as dessert. I've been to Beau Jo's once before and LOVED it. We came while on spring break and ordered a mountain crust, we received a prairie crust and told the waitress. The waitress said that the manager was doing pizza dough. We were not offered to have a remade pizza with our correct order. We were offered a discount or we could get a roll, which we assumed would be for free because of our order mishap! We were told the roll would only take 5-7 minutes & it took 20 minutes. We got the roll and we were still charged for it. The manager never spoke to us about the issue and our waitress only checked on us three times while we were there for an hour and 45 minutes. What a great night. I took my family and in-laws to Beau Jo's on a Friday night to say thanks for watching the kids and I wanted to treat them to a nice night out. I was a little skeptical that Beau Jo's would be able to provide that kind of experience I was looking for but the kids convinced the Grandparents that they should go out for pizza. When we got there the wait looked like it was going to be a good 15 minutes before we could get in, but to my surprise they said we have a table that would fit you nicely if you're willing to eat outside. We said sure and we were just a few tables away from the live music which really added to the atmosphere. The place was packed busy so I figured I would have to wait for our pizza, which was something I was dreading because I was ready to eat. I totally imagined the kitchen just being backed up and was prepared to apologize for my grumbling stomach. But that didn't happen because our waiter was prompt, got our drinks and appetizers out within minutes of ordering, and with perfect timing as soon as our appetizers were finished our Pizzas were fresh, hot and sitting in front of us. The weather was perfect, we got to see the sun setting behind the mountains while listening to enjoyable music. Speaking of the live music my 2 year old and 4 year old wanted to get up and close to the band, and they even played a few kid songs in between the modern hits. Great fun, good food, and a very enjoyable night. It was like everything worked out perfectly and it turned out to be one of the best nights out to a restaurant I've had in the last few years. I've been in CO for a couple of years now and everyone always talks about this place. I work nearby and love to hop over for the lunch buffet. They've got a sweet salad bar and usually have several varieties of pizza, including desert. I like the meat lovers, the GF goes for the veggies. We went to Beau Jo's for dinner tonight for our daughter's 26th birthday. We were excited to take our daughter there as it has been one of our favorite places to go, especially with our out of town guests. We arrived just shortly after 7:30 pm. The restaurant was pretty empty. The most empty we have ever seen it before. Our waitress seem as though she didnt want to be there or to help us. We ordered drinks and the Hearty Arty appetizer. Myself and our 2 daughters ordered a salad bar. Went we went to go and get our salad the ranch was out. We told our waitress. After several minutes, she brought over 3 little cups with ranch in it. She told us they weren't going to fill up the salad bar as they were going to tear it down soon. (Which didnt end up happening the entire time we were there.) When the appetizer arrived it was cold and none of the cream cheese was melted. Our waitress didnt come back to check on us and we had to track her down to get drink refills. Our oldest daughter ordered a margarita and it was gross and had to be sent back. When our main course came, our waitress didnt clear out any of our dirty plates or empty cups. We ordered the chocolate cookies dessert. When it came out it didn't look like what we ordered. We questioned the waitress and she argued with us. At that point I requested for a manager. I voiced my concerns. It was then said that they gave us the cheesecake cookie skillet and that was not what we ordered. He brought us out the chocolate cookies. When we got it, it was raw and doughy in the middle. We had to ask the manager to clear the dirty and empty plates/cups from our table. A friend and I went in for dinner about a week ago. The waitress was very busy and kept apologizing because they were short staffed. The service was fine, but I appreciate that the waitress acknowledged they were short staffed. When we got our Mountain Pie, both of us took a slice (it was a little spicy but we at it anyway). About a minute later, the manager came and said that they had given us the wrong pizza, and he proceeded to put a different whole pizza on our table - one without jalapenos. Came here on vacation with my family; we ordered a 5lb Dude Ranch pie, which consists of chicken, bacon, tomatoes, ranch, and cheese, and a 1lb Vegetarian pie for my sister. The pizza was divine, what really stood out was the crust drizzled in honey, this is pretty much dessert built in to the dinner. The atmosphere was excellent, we ate outside on a beautiful night and there was a band playing. Service was fine and although the wait was fairly long, it was well worth every minute. This was the worst experience I've had in ages. We have a daughter who just finished a soccer game and we went to the one in Arvada. We were seated right away. It took to long for our server to get our order. Then we sat, and we sat and sat for over an hour. At 45 min , we were told the wait for food was over an hour but they hadn't shared that with us. Been here twice already. Pizzas expensive, every topping is charged even if you put it on just half the pizza. Takes forever to come out as well. But what really pisses me off are the servers. Im a server myself so I understand but the second time we went the place was practically empty. Our server only came to check on us once & it was to give us our bill! We couldn't ask for refills because he never went out to the patio! The staff is also young girls with oversized shirts that cover their incredibly short shorts which make them look like they have no pants! It is a restaurant they're working at, not a gym.
