If I could leave them negative stars I would. This is the 2nd time I have eaten at this restaurant. I was hoping the first time disaster was just a fluke but they proved that it wasn't. First time orders were wrong, took for ever with service, and forever to get drinks. Food was cold and way to much bread not enough meat on the calzone. This time we ordered take out. We ordered gluten free food for someone who can't have gluten and regular for me. Both of us are sick coming out both ends 2 hours after taking our first bites. The cooks went over board on vegetables and very little meat and cheese on the calzone. We understand there is always a risk eating out with the gluten free. But when both parties get sick from different food. Not good at all. Wish this place had never come to Arvada. Miss the mexican restaurant that use to be there. I absolutely love Beau Joes. Up until yesterday, we'd only gone to the Idaho Springs location. Gives me an excuse to visit the town and do a little shopping. Hubby and I went to Arvada, last night. Sat at the bar, and the bartender was incredible. Great personality, always checking in on us. After enjoying a couple beverages, we finally ordered: salad bar and one Mexican pizza and one Margarita (spelled incorrectly). We did order the pizza to go, but had salad; which is the bomb. Husband had his Mexican Pizza cooked, but I ordered mine uncooked. I'm s new fan of the margarita pizza, the basil makes it over the top. However, when I opened the box, a short time ago, no basil. I cooked it anyhow, as I didn't have basil at home. The pizza was great! My fault for not checking before we left. We will be back! Need by basil fix. read more

GF pizza was pretty good (was our go to before we discovered the unbridled joy that is Denver Deep Dish). Insider tip - they are very generous with the cheese, ask them to give you 50% as much or everything just tastes like a cheese pizza. Also, go for the honey, it is delicious. For the non gluten impaired, definitely go thin crust unless you really want a loaf of bread. Biggest issue is getting in. Every time we go, we have to wait. Why? If I could give this place half a star I would. Or no stars. The food quality was on par with Domino's Pizza but they charge upscale prices. My friend and I went for lunch and the server left us sitting for 20 minutes before even coming over to get a drink order when the restaurant was nearly empty. After eating our mediocre food we were left sitting again for another 20 minutes for the server to come see if we wanted anything else or the check. We finally ended up going up to the host stand and asking for our check. The only good thing about this place is the level of cleanliness. Next time I'll save myself the $30 I spent to feed 2 people lunch and go to Jack-In-The-Box and get about the same quality food for half the price. read more

BJ's was the arm-twist "you gotta at least try it" manipulation the crowd voted on the island that day. i spent the rest of the day feeling bloated, oily, and nauseated from a bubble-gum consistency crust, and fillings that were subpar. Thanks for the beer which helped to effervesce the greasy mess through my pipes quickly. I would rather eat fishing sinkers than eat there again. I am a pizza connoisseur and this place was horrible from beginning to end. When I sat down to the bar the lady didn't give me a menu or a drink for 10 minutes. When I finally got my food, the food was bland, underseasoned (seriously lacking salt), and the novelty of adding honey to the crust didn't enhance my experience. If they corrected the service and the food this concept would be fine. At the end of my meal the server must've read the review and she was very rude when she handed me the receipt. Definitely not your average pizza. If Chicago has deep dish, New York has thin crust, then Denver has Beau Jo's as a sort of claim to fame. If you want to go to Beau Jo's, refrain from making an opinion about the overall chain until you go to the original Idaho Springs location. But since not all of us can get out that far, this Arvada location is pretty swell. You can either get the Mountain Pie, which has an immense amount of fluffy, golden crust. If you're on Atkins or otherwise don't like crust, try the Prairie pie, thin crust, which will save some green. Either way, you can dip the crust in honey once you get done with the actual pizza and toppings. My advice would be to heat the honey up a bit, if you can, so that it melts more easily. But don't leave the honey in the microwave too long. I've learned that the hard way about 916 times. Maybe more. Not a big fan of how the pizza tastes with meat. Instead, you can get a custom blend of up to four cheeses. To die for. There are lots of toppings at this western pizza joint, but trust me, four cheese, whatever cheeses you choose, will make you slap yo mama. Sorry Mama. Next time, baby powder. read more

I haven't been a Beau Jo's fan. It has taken me years to give them another try. I never liked the mountain pie with its thick and overbearing crust. I'm sure it wasn't bad, it just wasn't for me. Chewing on a thick and doughy crust dipped in honey after eating a thick and doughy pizza just never did it for me. The hubs and I decided to give them a try at their new location. I'm really glad we did. I was able to order a thinner crust pizza (aka - the prairie) that really let my choice of toppings shine. They have a great assortment of toppings to create your own, or some creative specialty pizzas to choose from as well. If you're not up for pizza, they have a boatload of sandwiches, salads, calzones and appetizers to pick from as well. If you are a vegetarian, health conscious eater or gluten intolerant, you will also find plenty of options to pick from. I thought the price was reasonable. We had two small specialty pizzas, salad bar, three beers and a soda for 30 bucks. I know I have spent way more for less food and drink at other pizza joints. The patio is awesome. It can fill up quickly on warm nights, so get there early! The parking situation kind of sucks. It's very limited. Once it's full, you're pretty much out of options - unless you're ok with parking on the other side of Wadsworth and crossing over. I feel bad for all of the businesses around here that probably constantly deal with Beau Jo's patrons parking in their private lots. But, Beau Jo's has elevated the pizza universe by creating a colossal, hearty and a hand-rolled edge (seriously, you could do 50/50 axel grinds on these edges) pizza crust which can hold a dump truck load full of ingredients. Plus, the crust doubles as a breaded Sopapilla...just ask for honey. Ordering a pizza at Beau Jo's is like ordering from Amazon, pick a style (Mountain, Prairie, Gluten-Free), now add to your shopping cart the crust (Honey White, Honey Whole Wheat, Gluten-Free), don't check out yet, add your sauce (numerous) then your ingredients (one short of infinity) cheeses and herbs.... Beau Jo's really does a great job of celebrating the Gluten-Free lifestyle, with pizza, beer and sandwiches. Plus, they have their own GF day (Wednesdays) and when you order any wheat free pizza or sandwich, you get a free trip to the salad bar. I would have expected the atmosphere (of this location) to be more mountainous, warm...not so bright, open and "uncozy," which is why it didn't get one more star. read more

We ordered a take-out for a party happening at my place. Having had the Beau Joe's in Idaho Springs, we had high expectations but were 'warned' by friends that the quality of the pies are very different in different stores. We chose Beau Jo's because of their gluten free selection. The server who took my call felt like she was rushing the order, but I gave her my order anyway- 1 gluten free pie, 1 make-my-own 3lb mountain pie. I was ordering from a menu downloaded from the website and it had no prices- I didn't think that much about it, figuring that it was going to be OK. The server confirmed my order but didn't give me a total price. I thought that was weird didn't think much of it. A friend of mine picked up the order and brought it over to the party. When we opened both pizzas we knew that they had taken the wrong order- our gluten free pie looked too dough-y to be gluten free. We also discovered that the add-ons for the 3lb pie amounted to a $40 pizza- which came as a bit of a rude shock. We called in to explain the mistake and also to feedback that they really should tell us prices when we are building our own pizza. We had to make more food for my gluten- free friends and the rest of us munched on the $40 pie in dismay. The supervisor on hand was new and couldn't really refund or help us out, We were all pretty upset by the experience but decided to make the best out of it anyway. The pizza itself was OK- the crust was so-so and not as delicious as the ones we've had in Idaho Springs for sure. The next day, the store manager Richard called us and apologized- he was fantastic and kind to us and got us a gift card to make up for the mistake. Five stars to Richard, the manager at the store for doing his job well. After the phone conversation, I was willing to give Beau Joe's another try, but this time round, we might stick to the 'original' Beau Jo's in Idaho Springs. read more

I've been obsessed with Beau Jo's for a while and recently discovered they do a pizza buffet for lunch. It was on point! I love their mountain pies and usually just order my own specialty one but we were there during lunch and they had a ton of options at the buffet along with salads and dessert pizza. The bartenders are really nice we usually sit in the bar area. Drink specials are good during happy hour. My favorite pizza is queso based and so freakin good!! I'm pretty fond of Beau Jo's Pizza, though have always found the one in Idaho Springs to be consistently better. The pizza buffet here is all right, but the turnover rate for the pizzas is low because there just aren't enough people for them to continually put pizza out. If you were to go here, go ahead and order a pizza so at least you know it's fresh. They do serve the same Mountain Pie which is essentially a thin crust pizza surrounded by a pound or two of crust. This is supposed to then be smothered by honey and makes for a kind of a dessert combined with dinner. They offer a lot of variations including white or wheat crust, gluten free, and tofu topping. I haven't tried anything but the wheat, but that was pretty good. So if you really really aren't fond of crust, order the normal pizza. read more

I am always nervous to try a new Gluten Free pizza because I am very very sensitive to Gluten as a celiac. But not only was this safe, it was absolutely delicious. Of course, the expense is crazy as usual, almost $17 for a 10" pizza, though it's loaded with toppings, but still... delivery was short, the girl was super nice and will definitely be ordering again. I finally made it to Beau Jo's a few weeks back to try their happy hour. I'd eaten there once before and honestly didn't have a strong opinion one way or the other. On a cold Sunday night, we made our way over to grab some dinner and a couple drinks. We opted to sit at the bar, and took a look at the happy hour menu. They have some good deals! We went with some wings to start, and then split an individual prairie pie. It was just enough food without being too filling. The individual pizzas start at 4.99 at happy hour. Of course this isn't the best traditional pizza, but on that cold icy night it tasted really good! The happy hour prices are beyond decent - I had 3 glasses of house Pinot Grigio for $3 each, and he had a couple of 22 oz beers for $4 each. I'll gladly go back for $3 wine and $5 pizza! read more

I kind of feel that this pizza has little to do with Italian pizza. The crust is more like a good bread dough than a pizza crust. But having said that, I must admit that I like the Beau Jo pies. It makes me feel like I'm eating a health food pie. The toppings are fresh and plentiful and the whole wheat pie has a decent yeasty flavor with a too thick crust that requires you to perform the sacrilege of pouring honey on the unadorned hunk of bread that remains once the toppings are gone. This is one of my favorite local places and we take all of our out of town guests here to introduce them to 'Mountain Pie'. First, the mountain pie has an amazing crust. The edges are about 2 inches high and crusty on the outside, tender and puffy on the inside. A bottle of honey is on the table and most patrons eat the middle section and save the crusts to eat with honey. Second, the menu of specialty pies is lengthy. They put everything and every combination of stuff on a pie. They have pies that substitute basil pesto, green chile sauce, bbq sauce and a bunch of other sauces instead of standard tomato sauce and the list of toppings is endless. Lastly, the sizes here are based on weight. 1lb, 2lb, 3lb. The 3lb sounds horrible and huge but order it, you will want to take home some for later. They serve Tomyknocker beer which is brewed in Idaho Springs and is pretty good. The prices for a pie are pretty reasonable for what you get. They have specials daily and have a pizza bar/salad bar combo in the day time. Go, experience the mountain pie :) read more

My favorite pizza place ever, and not just this location. I have loved every Beau Jo's I've visited. The pizza is soooooooo good, like none other. Dip the crust in honey and you will be in heaven. Big selection, gourmet ingredients, pretty good service. Oh my God, just talking about it, I want to go right now! My favorite is the mountain pie on honey whole what with tomatoes, artichokes and basil. Also a fun place for out-of-towners, because for some reason it feels very "Colorado." Their pizza is great, the young people that work there are nice, but their takeout service is really, really bad. The waiting area was packed. Only one employee was wearing a mask. I had to wait in a very small, crowded,noisy space for over 1/2 an hour. I guess the pandemic really is over! I won't be back. Apparently they don't need my business anyway. read more

After picking up a few times I finally was able to make it into Beau Jo's for some food and drinks on their great patio. It always looked like a good place to enjoy a cold one or four, as well as something to nosh on. It was a late Thursday afternoon a couple of weeks back and neither of us had had lunch so we split some wings and a sandwich. The pizza is always good but we weren't really in a mood for one that day. The sweet and spicy wings were decent enough, even if the wings seemed to be from super sized chickens. Either I'm getting smaller or most of the wings I order are getting bigger. We split the Italian Turkey sandwich, along with the bag of chips that came on the side. It had Turkey breast, salami, pepperoni, roma tomatoes, basil, Italian dressing and smoked provolone cheese. We got served it warm, and both of us really liked it. Good combination of flavors! The beer selection is pretty good, along with the service. If you're looking for a spot on a patio consider giving it a try! read more

Great pizza; shitty service. That should be Beau Joe's motto. We sat inside once and it might have been the worst service I've ever received at a restaurant. Severs ignore you and you have to yell across the place to get they're attention. The pizza is delicious though- I'm allergic to tomatoes and this place is more than happy to use white garlic sauce instead. Just be sure to check your pizza when you pick it up. Tonight we called to pickup pizzas and they said they were out of white sauce so my husband asked for no sauce- I bit into a slice and it was smothered in red tomato sauce so now I'm on epipen watch. So, pizza is great and get it to go because they're service sucks. read more

I have tried 3 different pizzas from here and I have to say that getting the "plain" sort of pizza is the best way to go IMHO. The first time we went, we told them it was our first time. Our waitress was amazing! She went through the different pizzas with us, the sizes, etc. After our meal she brought us free chocolate chip cookies that were even better than the pizza. The second time we went, we got the pizza that included jalapeno peppers. I do not recommend doing that because there was about a 1/2 cup of peppers in two slices! We had a hard time eating it but chalked it up as a learning experience to not order a pizza here unless you love everything that's in it. A manager walked by out table and asked how the pizza was, my husband answered "alright". The manager then asked why it was just alright, we told him and he then offered us a free pizza to take home. We told him no thanks, it was our bad but he asked us twice more so we sort of felt like we should take him up on his offer. I have to say, the customer service at this location is amazing! Other businesses need to take a few pointers from the folks over at this location. The pizza might be just ok to a lot of people but the customer service we have received both times we were there has been amazing! read more

i'm a big fan of the Beau Jo's in Idaho Springs. I end up with a big group there a few times every summer and it's always a blast. The atmosphere is a big part of the enjoyment, but the pizza is always good. But what of the Arvada location? It definitely is lacking in the ambience department. The Idaho Springs location is filled to the brim with mining stuff and big spaces while the Arvada location is a pizza joint. Nothing special to be found in Arvada. Or is there? The service makes up for the lack of a fun environment. The people working there are attentive and efficient without ever being annoying. You always get refills on your soda as soon as you need them. You never want for extra napkins or another utensil. They really do service the way it should be done. The pizza is the same in both locations. They have a crazy selection of fun and interesting pizzas with lots of different sauces and crusts. I must say that I like all of them in different ways. I feel like I've had all of them at some point. I woudn't say it's a cheap meal but it's always good. The buffet will present you with pizza that is not as good as the pizza cooked to order, but that's always the case. The salad bar is pretty good and they work their butts off to keep it filled. Again with the fantastic service. I'm definitely a fan, and it's a lot closer than Idaho Springs. read more

Visited Saturday, March 30. Even though they do not take same day reservations, I called ahead and a table for 9 was waiting for us. We had 6 adults and 3 kids. The service was poor, even with 2 of us only ordering the salad bar. The other dishes came out sporadically, one at a time.
