Beaucoup has changed hands since opening many years ago. Since then, the quality has significantly declined while prices have increased. No longer are the croissants buttery and flakey. I gave this location another try after being disappointed a year ago. I can't say I was impressed. This was the amount of chocolate inside the pain au chocolate. It's hard to imagine the founder would be proud of what this bakery has become. Cutting corners on the simple ingredients is sad and an epic fail.
We're fortunate to have this French-style bakery right in the neighborhood. Their pastries look flaky, buttery, and the kind of treats that make an occasion feel special. Prices are a little higher than your average bakery as you see from the photos, I'm not entirely sure if all the ingredients are specialty or more conventional. It may not be an everyday stop, but it definitely adds a little French flair to the neighborhood.
Small French bakery cafe set up on Fir St in the area going under the bridge to Granville Island. Limited seating options. Only about 4 tables and one long banquet bench. There are fairly high concrete steps from the front door to the inside of the cafe. Not easily accessible. Selection of French croissants and fusion Asian flavours. They have some sliced dessert cakes that look interesting. Standard coffee and tea bar. Croissants were buttery but a little dense. Overall a quick sit or takeout bakery in the area.
We went here on a Saturday afternoon and it was popping. There are a few tables to enjoy dine in, so we settled in 1 and tried the chocolate almond croissant and a chai latte. The croissant was so good - it was a bit sweet inside, but the almond and chocolate flavors were fantastic. The outer layer is so crispy and buttery, and it has a nice crispy taste for some parts. So many pastry places in the area don't have croissants that are buttery and flaky, so I am glad this place is able to distinguish themselves for that. The chai latte is well spiced and a little sweet, with cinnamon on top. They gave us an extra small cup as they prepared extra, which is a nice touch of them.
Oh my GOSH the food here is AMAZING. I got the Pepperoni Scroll and mom got the Ham and Cheese Scroll. First off, these are *very* big and I felt like it matched the price point just fine. But they tasted so good!! The croissant style roll was incredibly soft and had that delicious buttery flavor mingling with the cheese and pepperoni and red pepper flakes. I devoured mine so fast. Mom loved hers as well. This was our first time here but we'll definitely be back, maybe to get the same thing and maybe try some other stuff as well :) Also I'm not sure what it would do to the texture but heating one of these up in the microwave for a few seconds would probably taste amazing too. Super fresh and super delicious. 10/10 highly recommend.
3.5 stars I had. Pistachio raspberry cake $9.95 Thai tea banana cake $9.95 Iced Latte The cakes were beautiful, looked delish and had right amount of sweetness. However, I got faint almost not there Thai Tea aroma and taste of banana. The pistachio cake was ok and not much taste of pistachio. Overall the cakes were disappointed. The ice latte was very good and rich.
We had a pistachio cake, a thai tea banana cake, and a glass of latte. The thai tea cake lack or aroma. (2 out of 5). I could not tell that it was made with thai tea and banana. The coffee latte is good. (5 out of 5) Street parking. I parked on the next black up the street which is a metered parking. Walking less than 100 ft to the store and the street in front of the store is free parking. Just FYI. The service is fast and professional. There are a few small tables for seating. Free WiFi.
The OG location, why did it take me so long to write a review? Everytime I come to this location, the one challenge is finding parking, but if you have enough will to say..... you are going to come here, you will eventually find it, and there is a few spots on the block. Once you are in, and usually there is another line up.... to order your stuff, this isn't a regular coffee joint with a few pastries, this is Beaucoup where any pastry you order will probably put you back into that lineup... to order more for any friend/loved one.. if you care.. or for yourself for later. I have seen in firsthand with people I bring here, even ordering things that they wouldn't normally order... caused they looked good in the display window.... and tasted better when eating the delectible delight. There are a few inside seats here, in a charming little shop, with bright walls, a high ceiling, and a big coffee bar at the centre of the spot. The coffee beans of choice in this place is 49th Parrallel.. and they do know how to make this coffee go down smooth. There is also seating outside the shop, in an interesting spot a few blocks away from Broadway and West 2nd, kind of nowhere, and now somewhere, as everyone knows Beaucoup and will come here for their needs. Speaking of go-to's, there is the Chausson Aux Pommes, and this delightful apple pastry is worth the price of admission. Another item... is the peanut butter buttercream dream, it looks like a cookie sandwich, just trust it... and order it. Occasionally they will do collaborations and also seasonal specials, and if you see lineups... well there is a 'cult' following for these pastries, if you wonder why, don't go on a release date item, go before and understand why, and also they have been around a long time.... and the hard work and keeping all the pastries at their highest level speak volumes, even to this day. No need to look for an excuse if you have never been, and if you haven't been in awhile.. well don't worry what you loved before is still there.
I used to looooove Beacoup bakery. it was one of the most iconic spots for a delicious baked good. I'm not sure what happened but i do feel it's gone downhill over the years. I've gone here a few times recently and have been SO disappointed. The coffee tastes burnt in my opinion and today, i ordered an iced latte (regular milk, no sugar, nothing special) and it was $6.88! CRIMINAL. I wanted to add vanilla but that was gunna run me $7.88 for ONE coffee?! I get it -times are tough but $8 for milk and espresso?! cmon! My other problem is the staff. i came around 3pm today and nobody welcomed us in, the one cashier was sweeping in the lineup and said "can u go the other way?" like girl... the customer comes first. if you don't want us here, then lock the cafe. And also when i asked "ohhh actually, i don't need the vanilla in my coffee" cuz it was an extra $1, she basically rolled her eyes. I get it, we all have our bad days but don't work a customer service job if you can't provide a nice experience. I've worked 10 years in fast food and always tried to provide a good experience. Sorry, rant over! haha All in all, they do have some really winning pastries. Some of my faves include the croissants, peanut butter cookie sandidch and the kouign iman (i am totally butchering the spelling) The vibe in here is cute but i do wish they had more seating. They have a side patio which is nice in the summer.
Having tried over 30+ croissant places in Vancouver, I can say that Beaucoup Bakery is my favourite one in this city. The croissants here are always so flakey to the point of being crispy, which I personally prefer. Almost the perfect balance of filling, sweetness level, and butteriness for me. Out of everything I've tried, the pistachio ($6.5) and almond ($6.5) croissant were two of my favourite. The fillings are very rich and nutty, with still a little bit of texture left instead of a smooth paste. Interior was very chic and European inspired, quite elegant and feminine. A few seats are available but not really that comfortable. Service was professional and fast. Coffee was decent, but the highlights are definitely their pastries.
Great bakery with delicious options, their croissants are amazing, nice and flakey and they got some really creative and yummy cake options too. We also loved the ease of finding a parking spot and that they have nice outdoor seating for sunny days.
I've heard this bakery so often and finally decided to try their items. I went on Monday morning so it wasn't crowded. Their location is kinda secluded just off the Granville Island. - almond croissant: flaky croissant but I think it was over baked a little bit since the outside was super crispy. The almond filling was good and tasty - ham & cheese scroll: good savory pastry. It had lots of cheese and it had good flakey texture. - raspberry brioche: very dry & flaky not fluffy like brioche. The raspberry cream was good and not too sweet - london fog: very weak tea taste & too much milk. Overall, it has good pastries selection but the quality was kinda average (3.5 stars).
After many days of rain, it was a sunny day and I came to this bakery cafe for lunch. From the front door to the interior it gave me a comfy and bright feeling. There were plenty of choices of bread la and I spotted their bacon and onion roll looked good so I ordered it with a medium size latte. The roll tasted good and it's size is big. They didn't serve the cutlery so I assumed I had to hold it with my hand. The taste of bacon and onion was rich... while I was enjoying it, a large portion of it suddenly broke and dropped onto the floor. Really unexpected. A staff member saw it and she asked me which bread did I got and she gave me a new one. I didn't take it for granted though many cafes may offer the same to their customers, I really appreciated her attentiveness and care to the customer. It is also worth mentioning the latte tasted good. Unlike some cozy cafes that serve bitter taste and herbal medicine like coffee with unpleasant after taste. While I was sitting there I observed the staff member checked the hygiene of the toilet frequently. In terms of food quality and service, I am happy to give them a 5-star. I am sure I will visit them again when I am around that area. Merci Beaucoup!

While usually a fan today we were Extremely disappointed. My wife ordered a regular croissant and a pain au chocolate today around 11:00am. The croissant was under proofed and over baked by a bit. The pain au chocolate was over proofed by a bit as well as over baked. As a baker for 10years I know how difficult the job is but when something is over baked you have to start over. You can see in the pic below when we tried to pop open the regular croissant it disintegrated into crumbs. Hoping for better. read more
Vancouver, you have it so good... a bakery of this calibre is my dream of butter and sugar. With so many options, you can forever choose something new. The surprise to all this was that the price wasn't some astronomical high ceiling ... sure it's out of the core but it's worth every minute trekking out here. Getting here isn't the easiest and parking is another matter altogether. There isnt a private lot available but you can try to circle around the bakery on the side streets to find a spot. But once you have that spot... be ready to step into your bakery paradise. The spot is just beautiful with so many nooks that shout out to be Instagrammed. It has a cute refined Victorian vibe with it's white washed wainscotting and brushed nickel accents of another era. The light filters in through large windows and hits every table and case with the perfect shine to highlight each pastry. Service here is just wonderful... I think they saw me salivating before I even close enough to read the signs and they were all smiles. They were generous with their thoughts on the best and favourites ... I only had one shot to get the best before flying back out. I did notice they also had an espresso drink menu... as tempting as that way, I already had a few cups of coffee. It would have been perfect though to sit, enjoy a croissant, and a good flat white. Apple Tart - This is their best seller and I can see why. A perfect square of buttery thick crust containing vanilla seed speckled rich custard. Eating this alone would put most other bakeries to shame ... the vanilla is prominent and it is a nice floral note instead of a hard hitting sugary fake one. Im not sure how they did it but the buttery crust held up hours later and not once got soggy... it shatters as you cut or bite into it. Sitting beautifully on top of the custard is a series of thinly shaved apples to create a wonderfully bronze square of tender apples that is so true to the fruit. It doesnt have a lot of sugar so it is a clean fruit flavour that just compliments the floral vanilla so well. Yes... one of the best things I ate in Vancouver absolutely. 5/5 Blondie - If you love caramel or buttery cookies, this is your nirvana. I think seeing the single Valrhona dulcey Blond Fèves (caramelized white chocolate chip) resting on top grabbed my attention immediately. Though it's not everyone's cup of tea, I know that chocolate is so rich with the perfect melt in your mouth to give you that strong milk caramel note. Turns out the entire blondie is that flavour with the most buttery chewy cookie base craddling each dulcey piece. I can only explain how perfect that chew is by saying only freshly baked cookies could rival it. Buttery sugar bliss... oh definitely. This was also perfect to take away as it was so sturdy even when driving back to my place. 5/5 I honestly wish I was in this area more often so I could sneak in a moment to buy another item to try. They had so many great things including seasonal items. I heard their croissants were really well done too. Next time I'm here, I'm going to be planning a daily visit. read more
Beaucoup Bakery is a small café on Fir St and West 6th Ave at quite neighborhood area. I saw some good reviews of this local café and went there to check it out on late Sun afternoon. When we walked in, they were so busy and all tables or stools were full. We were checking out the menu and tried to ordering, the staff showed impatient while taking the order. I had Mocha was mediocre (Milano mocha much better), hot chocolate just ok. Passionfruit tart was too sour and chocolate almond croissant really nothing stood out. I would say such average parties and cakes with unfriendly staff, I don't' see any reason I would go back. read more

Baked good are exquisite and culinarily challenging with the explorative flavours and ingredients. Coffee is casual (latte are is not a thing here.) Seating is a gamble as it gets very busy. Only 1 customer parking available along the side of the cafe (I was lucky enough to get it on my visit). Service is great. Lacking 5 stars as per coffee situation as they have self proclaimed to be a cafe but can't do latte art. read more

I had this craving for croissants and apparently the top players are all in downtown area. So, when I came across this one, I was very excited. The place is easy to get to and there is a parking lot adjacent to the building with 2 spots for the bakery. The bakery has a few indoor seatings and we huddled around a small table with 4 chairs. I must say, this is by far, the flakiest croissant I have ever eaten in the US even when it has not been reheated. I am quite impressed. However, it is a tad too flakey for me although hubby thinks this is the best in town. They also serve espresso with beans from 49th Parallel. The staff is very friendly!! I also saw some good looking desserts which I will definitely come back and try. read more

Beacuoup Bakery & Chinatown BBQ recently had a collaboration to celebrate Chinese New Year with some Peking Duck Croissants. I've been trying to get these croissants since they were released and I was very excited to finally try them after a 45 minute wait! The croissants were buttery and flakey with the perfect crunch in every bite! They were brushed with a honey glaze on the outside which added a nice sweet flavour. The croissants were also filled with shredded peking duck that was flavourful and tender. The gold flakes on top added a nice sophisticated presentation. Overall, I really enjoyed this croissant and definitely think it was worth lining up for. I can't wait to come back for more baked goods and pastries! read more
Sometimes being flaky isn't a bad thing . This Jasmine Blueberry Croissant was perfectly flaky and was filled generously with a jasmine-scented almond cream and blueberry compote. Also it topped with an almond streusel. Every bite was perfect! read more

I came here for a work meeting. I bought a mocha only. The mocha tasted a little different from the regular one. I could taste a little bit of salty and sweet. There was a little square of cookie beside the cup on the plate. It was cute. Many people said that croissants here are excellent. Unfortunately I was in a work meeting, so I did not buy and try a croissant. I didn't want to be talking and eating at the same time. I will definitely try their croissants next time. The cafe is located at Fir street and 6th street. Many people dropped by and picked up beverages and croissants or snacks. I was at the cafe from 4pm to 5:30pm. The customers came into the cafe continuously. The sales was quite good yesterday. The cafe is not very big. It is like an "L" shape inside. When there is a lot of customers, the cafe is packed and there is not much room to move. The price is average. Croissants are a bit more expensive because they are special in this cafe. You can tell this is a lot of people's favourite cafe. If you haven't been here, give it a try. read more
This bakery has honestly ruined all other Toronto bakeries for me! I feel like I'll end up comparing all baked goods to this place's offerings from now on! I finally went to this bakery last week when I was in Vancouver. I had seen the excellent Yelp reviews and currently reading founder Jackie Kai Ellis' book. My husband and I went around 7:30am on a weekday on our way to Whistler and I'm so happy that we did! I got a butter croissant, seasonal featured croissant (rice pudding pistachio flavoured) and a chai latte. I have to say WOW, does this place make amazing croissants!!! Seriously, those crisp, flaky, melt in your mouth layers were something else! I wouldn't have imagined that a seemingly plain butter croissant could taste that amazing without being overly oily. It's really the best croissant I've ever had! Their featured croissant also had the same crisp layered texture on the outside but with a delicious filling of rice pudding (not too sweet either) and bits of chopped pistachios sprinkled throughout - so good! The chai latte was also delicious with its strong chai flavour and velvety layers. The prices were also comparable to other bakeries and again, the quality was top notch. Staff were friendly and helpful. I would visit this place again in a heartbeat (already looking forward to my next Vancity trip here!) and highly recommend this cute bakery to all! read more

One of my favorite bakeries/place to pick up desserts. Picked up the lemon yuzu tart. The filling was great...the tart itself was crisp but it tasted a bit over done...from the colour you can see it looks a little bit more "tanned" than usual...which you could taste (otherwise I would have given 5 stars). The seasonal grapefruit-honey cheesecake was so light and fluffy! The lightness and smoothness reminded me of a panna cotta. I love this place. I should have grabbed their cheese scone and double baked croissant, but I had to control myself. read more
My friend and I traveled a long distance to come here one morning, and we were not disappointed. In fact, their croissants were probably one of the best I have yet to have. We both decided on their almond croissant, off of the recommendation of the cashier, and we were both blown away by the quality and flaky, buttery taste of the croissant. The croissant tasted very fresh, and it was filled generously with a flavorful, almond marzipan. The outside was dusted with powdered sugar and coated in a sugar coat with almonds. I also ordered a small, black coffee and the coffee quality was great and paired well with their pastries. After having one, I honestly wanted another. This is a pastry shop that you must visit! The decor is amazing on the inside, and the tables are very aesthetic (if you're into marble). read more

Wonderful place to grab some decadent pastries. We ordered the special matcha something croissant filled with custard and the almond croissant - both were great! Also had the green tea with rose petals and it was deliciously light ... we went on a Sunday when it opened and was surprisingly shocked people were already there waiting for the place to open ... One of my favourite high end bakeries. It's a small space, but they manage to cram in all kind of goodies. On my first visit, I bought a large box of assorted pastries, much to the detriment of my credit card. Since then, I have learned to be more selective and control my urge to buy one of everything. They always have creative combinations and everything is so fresh. Due to the higher prices, I usually only buy a couple of items. This time, I was on a run to taste some the of the best hot cross buns the city has to offer and they have the best imho. It's a brioche bun with organic imported dried fruits. I also love lemon tarts and this was one of the prettiest and most flavorful that I have ever had the pleasure of eating. It was tart and had actual pieces of lemon in it. A winner in my books! This is one of the few bakeries that I will bite the bullet and actually pay for parking. read more

I would definitely be returning. All the pastries were delicious I forgot to take more photos. My favourite was the almond croissant it was the best I ever had. Limited seats but there is a park across that you could sit and enjoy the delicious baked goods. Coffee was also decent. read more

Doc, does this count as my apple a day? Apple tart 5.95 Lemon yuzu tart 5.95 Vanilla latte 5.00 Cappucino 3.75 Finally success! Last time we went to beacoup the apple tart was sold out it's so beautiful. But in all honesty the more I look at it it looks like a Taiwanese braised pork belly. LOL Taste wise it's a very tart apple with vanilla bean underneath and then the crust. So basically it's 3 layers of deliciousness. I love the crust which I'm suspecting they made from the little cookie that comes with the drink. Not complaining. The lemon tart is tangy and sour. a bit too sour for me but it works. We ended our Vancouver trip with our final stop at Beaucoup Bakery & Cafe. It was full of regret that we did not come here sooner! I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and taste of their Vanilla latte and Cinnamon Roll. What makes their Vanilla latte special is that they use their own homemade Vanilla syrup which has a nutty and roasted flavor, with a sweetness level that isn't overpowering. Also, their Cinnamon roll was crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. I salivate as I write this post. *Parking: There is a small lot in the back. Or Street/metered parking. Beaucoup has always been one of my favourite bakeries in Vancouver, as a pastry cook I always appreciate the small details in each product that is made. I've been going here for years and have probably tried everything on their menu. Honestly I have to say I have never been disappointed with anything I have eaten here. Everything is perfectly balanced, the croissants are the best in the city, and you never have to worry that one day a product will taste different. They are extremely consistent with all their pastries and I love how cozy it is inside the bakery. My top 3 pastries to eat at Beaucoup are: - Croissants!!! Specifically the almond croissant - Kouign Aman (this is actually the first thing I ever ate here years ago, and after the first bite I bought 4 more) - Bostock (brioche with almond paste and orange blossom) Hands down one of my favourite bakeries in Vancouver, anyone who is in the area should 100% go here you won't be disappointed! read more

I would argue that this place has the best croissants outside of Paris. Period. First, the space is amazingly adorable. The hand-painted floral walls are gorgeous. I wish I could just stand there and take selfie, but I'm way too self-conscious to do it. Next, the croissants are so beautiful. I recommend getting a croissant to eat there, and get a second one to take home. You'll thank me later. They had this milk tea double-baked croissant that was amazing. I'm still thinking about it two weeks later. The filling was very creamy and rich. Also, I recommend the green onion and cheddar scone if you are looking for something savory! read more
WOW the croissant is super flaky and I love it. Its so awesome tasty. So at work suddenly these pastry popped up in the kitchen. I had to have one and I got to say they were so yummy that I had to grab two. I wanted to grab more but I have other colleagues. If I had my way, I would have ate the whole thing. They were so good that they disappeared super fast. Their pastry / croissants are not super sweet or salty. The one I had was a miniature chocolate croissant. Thumbs up to the yumminess! read more
Très magnifique!!! Finally did right by coming in early - I got my Chocolate Almond Croissant! Yes! It is - magnificent!!! This bakery is located on Fir St @ 6th Ave - after eating here it's a short walk & you get to Granville Island. Cool lighting - interior design & location set this bakery up nicely. There are lots of options to choose from & everything is fresh. Jackie the owner - who I met once on a previous visit told me how she wanted to create the perfect croissant. She studied culinary in France & I have to say hands down - her croissants are perfect! The layers, the fluffiness, the almonds, the way it crumbles - Vancouver get here now!!! Beaucoup has it going on!!! If you're feeling sweet & sticky - the Salted Caramel Blondie is for you! Don't waste your time anywhere else! read more

Darling place for fresh croissants. Line appeared long on a Saturday, but it moved relatively quickly. Almond, regular, chocolate and chocolate almond croissants were rich and flaky. I just wish slightly that they were warm. But, just a nice treat away from quarantine. Croissants ranged around $4-6. read more

This is my forever answer to the question "Vancouver's best croissant?". Their croissants are as full of butter as they are of love and they have mastered the chocolate almond croissant like no other. In addition to the classics - they often have a feature croissant that will blow your mind and tastebuds. However, if the feature croissant features some sort of creme, highly recommended to give that decadence some time and space and a plate because those stuffed croissants will smear - while it's delicious, your cute outfit will NOT thank you. They use anthropologie cups which warms my heart. The space is not large so if the game plan is to impress the whole squad with flaky pastry - I recommend grabbing a box and taking the goodness to go! read more
I enjoyed their double baked croissant. This is second time to have double baked one and here's one very light amount butter. Even you had it at 9am, my stomach was ok to have lunch at noon. I don't get used to butter and sugar combination but here's freshly baked stuff was totally acceptable and of course delish. read more
Pastries were really good, croissants were crispy and flakey on the outside and soft on the inside. The brownie bar was way too sweet tho, and it's just me, but I like brownies with a bit of texture, the brownie bar was too soft. read more

Friends have brought me pastries from Beaucoup before but I finally got the chance to try it out in person this week. Right off the bat I thought their pastry selection was perfect; a decent variety without being too overwhelming. Something for any mood or appetite. We ordered the chaussons aux pommes and the black sesame peanut mochi croissant. The chaussons aux pommes had the perfect amount of flake and mouth feel. Perhaps more butter than you'd use baking at home but that's just what I go out for. The black sesame croissant is a bit heavy but yet again perfectly balanced flavours and texture. It's a bit much if you're just looking for a light pastry to go with your coffee but worked for us as a breakfast alternative. The coffee here is average, as far as the baked goods vs. coffee spectrum amongst cafes goes, beaucoup is very much a bakery first and a cafe second. As long as your expectations are realistic and inline with that, you'll enjoy Beaucoup. read more

* Interesting twist * I visited again and she had some of her version of kouign amann available - with a touch of seasalt on top! That was a nice touch. The kouign amann was a very different shape than I have ever had before, and also had a slightly different texture (slightly more doughy and less layered on the inside). But it was a tasty treat. The caramelization was very good, and it was baked off to be nicely crisp on the outside. Don't know that I would really call it a kouign amann though - but I would definitely eat it again. Merci Beaucoup Beaucoup Bakery People know me as a frugualista which means that I strive to find the best deals for fabulous fashions, food and more. So I never pay full price for anything except for wine and desserts. Why? Because I love wine and when I find a wine I want, I will buy it at full price. As for desserts, well, that's a different story. I have always loved sweets and desserts and when I was in Europe in Paris and Switzerland, I was on quest to find the most decadent desserts. In Switzerland, this can prove to be dangerous as I was constantly walking down the street with a string of honey bees buzzing around my head as it seems they are attracted to the sweet, sweet, smell of desserts. So whenever I hear of a new bakery, I'm excited until the moment I go and try one of their pastries and then it's "It's uh okay". No drum roll and I couldn't be enticed to go back to pay $3.00 for a piece of mediocre pastry. So I'm always skeptical when I hear a new bakery is opening but when I finally made it to Beaucoup Bakery (Fir Street) a week after their opening, I wasn't disappointed. No, I think the phrase to encapsulate my impression of that first bite is "Oh crap, can you just move your bakery outside my door so I can have a little piece of heaven every day with my first cup of coffee? Bostok - At first glance I thought it looked like a French toast as you see a top layer of almond fragipane but its brioche dipped in orange flower syrup which is very lightly infused and not overpowering. Moist and top crust is sweet and light in almond flavour. Somehow Beaucoup Bakery managed to take a simple brioche and modify into an elegant piece of pastry. Cherry Streusdel Muffin -It's simply the most perfect muffin I've ever had as the top is crumbly with a crunchy texture of almonds and the rest of it moist, but not too soft or hard. There's a slight taste of salt which contrasts nicely with the bursts of cherry. Salted caramel blondie bar, which I think should be renamed as Jesse James as there's so much creamy, luscious butter caramel flavour in this should be outlawed for being so indecently decadent. The top has a magical crust of oats and walnuts and in the middle, slivers of almond paste in between the salted caramel. Sheer caramel bliss. I'm counting my lucky stars that Beaucoup Bakery isn't that close to my home or work. Why? Because I'd gladly exchange my 1200 calories a day diet plan for 12,000 calories of heaven a day. As what many of the other Yelp reviewers have said, this is one of the very few places in town that actually makes croissants the right way: crispy and flaky on the outside, soft and silky on the inside. While they charge a bit more than some bakeries, it's well worth it because of the quality you get. I've sampled their plain, chocolate and almond croissants and all did not disappoint. Their coffees are pretty decent too. Seating is limited as well as their small parking lot. Be careful about their parking lot as the majority of it is for another business. I don't know how closely that business monitors their lot and I wasn't going to find out myself. There's street parking all around though. Definitely a place worth adding to your list of places to check out if bakeries are one of your weaknesses. read more
