You can't try on the wigs at this store. My Mom is going thru chemo and we wanted to try on wigs. We immediately left. The employees also lacked sensitivity which leads me to believe wig shops (or at least this one) def don't cater to the terminally ill with hair loss. I live in Columbia but I will drive further just so I will not do business here. The employees are RUDE. All they do is stand around and talking. The managers are no better. I will be writing a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau. The policy is unreasonable along with price gauging on products and merchandise that is not part of transportation of goods. Please Read!!!!! I purchased a Red Pro hair steamer from Beauty4U. I had the steamer for exactly one week and hair the steamer stopped working. I kindly returned to the store where the manager had the nerve to tell me that this was my problem and he wouldn't give me an exchange or refund. I was so upset, I sat and my car and cried. Then I remembered what my mother taught me. Always put big purchases on your credit card. I called my credit card company and filed a grievance against the store and quoted the information from the Maryland Attorney Generals page and I got my money back through them. I am only posting this because for some reason, some (not all) Asian American stores do not respect our dollars. Please take heed and know your rights because I think that most of us never follow up and file grievances. If you buy from this store, please use a credit card (no cash). If you use cash you will have to go to Prince George's Counties Consumer grievance system and you still might have to still take them to small claims court. I fought them through my credit card company and won and you can too. Don't go through the BBB.org This store doesn't reply to complaints. We need to fight to show that our dollars matter. Please don't frequent this awful place! Customer service sucks, and God forbid you want to make a return... horrible return policy. I have spent hundreds of dollars over the years in this place, and when I tried to make a $4.99 return, I was refused. Never will I shop here again. I must agree with other reviewers. The manager is rude and unprofessional regarding product questions, pricing and discounts at the Bowie, (Maryland) location. My observation is supply and demand. Please read... there is a huge scam being ran at Beauty4U were the employees try to sell their own private hair services like wig making while, simultaneously selling you stuff within the store. I made the mistake of allowing their employee, Aniyah, help me pick out hair to make a wig and then, convince me that she can do it for me. I was thinking that this was a service given by the store (which it was not), there was no accountability in the fact that the finished product (wig) didn't fit my head nor was all of my hair returned back to me that I had bought. If I could give ZERO stars I would. DO NOT SHOP AT THIS STORE! Don't waste your time & money here. My daughter and her friend shopped here today and bought the same exact product, Olive oil texturizer. The box had a few different products in it. My daughters box was fine, but her friends box was missing the oil that you mix into the texturizer. The box was sealed, so the distributor or manufacturer didn't pack the box correctly before shipping it out. The girls brought their boxes back to the store to show that one of the boxes is missing an item. Her friend showed him the receipt and then he, Daniel, asked to see my daughters receipt because the receipt only showed 1 box bought. I had asked him why does he need to see my daughters receipt? She's not returning or exchanging her box. And she has nothing to do with her friends purchase. They both paid for their own product separately. She just brought it with her to show them that her friend is missing an item and she isn't. He had the nerve to say how can he prove the box is missing an item from his store. At that point I lost it. Her friend just bought this product just a couple of hours ago and the receipt proves it. The box list all the items that should be in it with pictures. What in the world does he need to prove? I said this is a absolute dumb conversation and I walked away. My daughter and her friend is still standing there trying to explain to him but he was too dumb to even understand something that is so simple to comprehend. He walked away from them and had the nerve to throw the receipt in the garbage. I went to the trash can and took back the receipt. I have never dealt with a store manager that is this rude and ignorant. A few days ago the manager who's a Chinese with the name Jack asked me to leave because he doesnt want my 3 yo child there, which was holding my hand and walking next to me and when we walked in a narrow isle he accidentally knocked some items off a shelf thats when a tiny guy in a rosy pink shirt showed up and starting yelling at me, who i found out he was the aforementioned Chinese Jack, the funny dialogue went as follows: Him: you see what happened? You see what your child did? Me: im sorry its an accident Him: its not an accident to us Me: well its an accident he wasnt running around he was holding my hand and because its narrow here it happened it can happen to anyone Him (yelling in a tiny ear piercing voice): you watch your son thats not acceptable Me: what do you mean watch him when he's already holding my hand? do you want me to put him on my shoulders? He is walking like any other human being so no need to assume anything just becuase he's a child. Him: what? Do you want to see the cameras? Me (at this point i didnt know should i laugh or be angry because he made me feel we were caught stealing): yes please show me the cameras and show me your manager too because you obviously didnt get the job training before you wete hired. Him: i am the manager and you have to leave Me: oh really? You're the manager and dont know how to treat customers?? Anyway you're rude and i will take my business somewhere else. Just to make a scene and look like he's in charge since i was actually going out, duh! anyway i went to the next door mom's to do my grocery shopping and on the way out i saw him there smoking, so i dropped my son in the car then went back to drop the shopping cart and i told him that i talked to my lawyer and he told me that this is a case for discrimination and hate crime as the child wasnt doing any damage and was walking normally like any human being and i promised him to take legal action, now he started laughing and making faces then went into the store and after few seconds opened the door and yelled some gibberish that im recorded on cameras and was laughing! Should have read the reviews before going. I normally do not go to these types of stores I'd rather just go to Sally's or Target for haircare. I typically avoid these types of stores because the awful customer service. However, I forgot how over priced these stores can be too....I forgot my phone in the car and didn't check a price of leave in conditioner before purchasing. The SAME product and size is $7 cheaper at Target. That's just ridiculous! I will never shop here again, all the products I bought I could have found cheaper... ALL of them! I only went for some cheap hair to make a bun, I should have just bought the hair. They have a wide variety of products, brands, and almost anything you request for your beauty needs. I was able to find what I needed quickly and the staff was very attentive. I selected a wig in the particular color I wanted. The girl went to the back and took it to the register. I made my purchase but noted when I got home that she gave me the wrong color. I called the store, spoke to one of the workers of the situation and requested to speak to the manager. She refused to come to the phone and said the store policy is no return. I wanted to exchange it for the right color but she would not acknowledge the problem. When I asked the girl to relay the issue once more she decidely hung up on me. I called back from two different numbers and they still did not pick up. I think businesses that do not honor their customers, such as this one, should be reported to the Better Business Bureau in Maryland. Without each customer spending their money with this business, they will HAVE NO BUSINESS. I will NOT shop at this store and will tell other people about my experience so that they will be well informed of the disrespectfulness and unfairness shown to me (and from reading reviews, towards others as well). It was my first time at this Beauty 4 U location and the staff was so nice and willing to help me find everything I needed and even going into detail about what they thought of certain products and how it worked for them. I visited Beauty 4u today for the first time. Ive admired the outside for a few weeks now and was so very eager to actually go inside the store. I was very disappointed to say the least. While the store it self is a product junkies heaven. The customer service that I received from the seemingly lazy, unmotivated, untrained, unfriendly staff left me feeling unwelcome. I wasn't alone either. A few other customers over heard me sharing with my mom (whom also shared my view) and joined in saying that they also was not happy with the unfriendly staff. Sadly the staff wasn't the only unwelcoming thing the music was, honestly....vulgar. Will I visit again? Well, While first impression last a life time. The second impression tells who you really are. Do not go here... in the past several months I have spent hundreds of dollars here. I went today to purchase crochet hair. After looking a bit I found Saga human crochet hair and thought this great... and then I noticed it was 30% off. I picked up 6 packs of hair about $300 worth and went to the counter. I let the cashier know it was 30% off she went take a look and then asked her manager who proceeded to take down the sign and refused to give me the discount. The last time I was at the store, I bought 5 packs of xpression hair and when I got home I saw that the sales person added $2.99 to my bill for an hair accessory I didn't buy. I called the store to let them know about it and I went back the next day to make a complaint. I returned 1 or 2 packs of the xpression hair cos I didn't use it and I was told that I'd be rewarded store credit for that and the added hair accessory that was $2.99. After my recent experience, I wish that I could give 0 stars. I have been a customer of Beauty 4U for 15 years and I have spent thousands of dollars with them. I went to the store for a few items with my two small children. When I signed for the transaction, I realized I had an item that I mistakenly purchased. Before I was given a receipt and my items, told the cashier about the mistake and asked if she could take that item off. She said I could only get store credit. Although I understand the purpose of a final sale or store credit with certain types purchases, I was perplexed as to why this error couldn't be corrected since I never left the register. She told me it was policy and I asked if I could speak to a manager. She told me he would say the same thing. Sure enough, when I explained what had just occurred, he pointed to a sign and to the receipt the cashier was holding and said "No refunds. Store credit only." As I shared with her, I told him that didn't not want a store credit, I wanted my money back. He said it was policy. I told him I was concerned that they wouldn't consider the situation since it was a purchase error that all occurred at the register. He was firm and said again store credit only. I told him it felt like they were stealing from me. He laughed and said they're not stealing because I have store credit. I didn't find this funny but it seemed that I had no choice so I received the store credit. As the cashier was processing the credit, I shared that I was disgusted by how this was being handled given that I have been a customer for 15 years, starting at the Largo location. She replied that they have the same policy.....that wasn't the point. The point is a loyal customer should not be treated this way when I made it clear immediately that I bought something in error. I left and shared with my husband, who was at the gym next door, my dismay for this situation and I was compelled to return everything and not spend my money here in the future. Additionally, my small children observed this poor communication and treatment and I wanted to be sure they understood the importance of not accepting mistreatment and not supporting businesses that are unjust. I returned and asked for a refund of all items that I could return and that I would reach out to the BBB regarding the forced store credit. My husband was on the phone with me and he heard the man speaking to me about their policies again. I asked the man if he could just process my returns and credits so that I could leave. He continued to talk and my husband came to the register and asked him to stop discussing the situation and to process the transactions. He told him that we would take it up with our credit card company. The manager made a call, spoke in a different language, laughed and then came back and said he would process a full refund. My husband left and the manager started lecturing me about their policy again and then said my husband can't yell or curse. My husband never yelled at him, he firmly asked him to stopped talking to me in the way that he was and to simply process the transaction. He never used a curse word. He then told me I had to respect him. I explained that I don't have to give him more than what he gave to me. I was never disrespectful, never yelled, never cursed. I shared with him that I don't feel valued as a customer and that I would not support that company again. He then had the audacity to threaten to call the police on me. I told him that was fine because I would also like to report him to the police. When he didn't call, I told him to please stop talking to me and to complete the refund so that I could leave. As he started entering the transaction, he gave me a devilish look and used foreign words. I asked if he was talking to me and he said no and said the same thing in a foreign language over and over.
