When you canceled my appointment due to a 'tech emergency,' I was understanding--things happen. You explicitly said you would call to reschedule me, but you never did. Instead, you screened my calls, intentionally hung up on me, and then sent a text basically asking what I wanted, only to abruptly state you 'don't have service for me.' Yet, you are still actively advertising the exact Aerolase treatments I was trying to book. This wasn't a simple miscommunication. I stand by my review. Review - If you want to be aggressively upsold and then ghosted when you decline, Lumina Med Spa is the place for you. I originally went in for a consultation and was immediately hit with a hard sell for a bunch of extra services I didn't ask for. I held my ground and decided to stick strictly to the basic Aerolase treatment they were currently advertising at a promotional price. We scheduled the appointment, but shortly after, they canceled on me, claiming a 'tech emergency.' They assured me they would call back to reschedule. Spoiler alert: they didn't. After waiting, I finally reached out today to get back on the calendar. First, they hung up on my call. Then, they ignored my follow-up text. Finally, they sent a generic, robotic message stating that their practice was 'not the appropriate fit' and outright refused to schedule me. Translation: because I only wanted the promotional service and refused to be upsold into extra treatments, I was no longer worth their time. It's a classic bait-and-switch. Yikes. * The 4th session (the worst and last for me) was done by an inexperienced nurse who accidentally targeted my eyelid/eyelash area with the laser. * This caused significant pain, tearing, and irritation, and part of my eyelash was burned/cut off by mistake!!!!!. * Her reaction was unprofessional when I pointed it out. * I immediately reported the issue to reception. * I was later connected to a remote nurse/clinician via video call, but the response was dismissive and unhelpful, suggesting castor oil and saying it would regrow. (yay for me ;) 5 months I hardly got to regrow my lash) * No proper care, apology, or resolution was provided. * They contacted me twice afterward: the first time I was unavailable, and the second time the caller was speaking in a loud and aggressive manner, so I asked to be contacted another day as I was not willing to continue the conversation in that tone. * It has now been several months with no refund, no resolution, and no proper communication from the clinic management. I unfortunately only took a picture right after the incident. After that the eyelash fell out & only grew back several months after (with intense care) but I didn't take any photos during that time. Summary: Very inconsistent experience, not suitable for sensitive skin, and poor professionalism, skill level, and customer service throughout. I absolutely do not recommend.

I decided to go to Nayara for lip filler after seeing how great her posts look on Instagram. I wanted to wait to write a Yelp review because I needed to see how my lips would heal after a few months, and if it would improve. I've been getting my lips done for 6 years now, & had to find someone new since my previous injector lives in UK. I have naturally very full lips & always get compliments on my lips. I didn't need much for a touch up. I showed her a photo of when I loved my lips when my last injector did them. When she did my lips in October 2020, it was by far the most painful I have ever experienced. Her technique is very invasive, with around 20 different pricks on my top lip, & maybe 5 pricks on my bottom lip. I've been to 3 previous injectors & never had that many pricks & that much pain. I told her I'd like her to do my lips to look similar to the photo I showed her. She chose to do one full syringe when it was clear my lips only needed half, I should have been more clear and should have requested half a syringe, but did not think she would look at a photo & choose to do such a large amount on my already very full lips. I immediately swelled bigger with more bruising than I have ever experienced. I've been getting lips done twice a year for 6 years. It's not like this was my very first time. I had a flight that evening but called her office hours before my flight explaining how alarmed I was about the extreme swelling and bruising. When I called her office to explain that the swelling was alarming, she was very defensive & tried to tell me the swelling would be worse because of flying. She also told me I "shouldn't get my lips done if I can't handle swelling" which I found to be rude, unproductive & not helpful to my concern. Since I've been doing my lips for 6 years, I am no stranger to swelling after an appointment . I have attached 2 photos of my lips before my flight, right after the appointment. She told me my lips would go down 70% & would take TWO WEEKS for the swelling to go down. Normally it takes TWO DAYS for the swelling of my lips after an appointment to go down, at least that was the case for the past 6 years I've been getting them done. Two weeks is a very long time to live life with incredibly swollen and bruised lips. To some people this may not look that bad, but when I've had my lips injected before, they also did not swell as much, honestly they swelled 80% less than these photos, almost like my touch up was so subtle there was no bruising or swelling with previous injectors. It took around 2 weeks for the swelling to "go down" but because she chose to do them so big (the largest my already naturally full lips have ever been injected) my lips appeared permanently swollen. When we texted or spoke over the phone about my concern after I left for my trip, she seemed slightly unhinged, like she was seconds away from freaking out at me, talking very fast over me & defensive that I was not incredibly happy with her choice to fill them so large. Regardless I sucked it up & tried to minimize the size with nude lipstick. Now it has been 4 months later, and my lips look nice from the front, still a bit too large to look natural on my face. When I smile in photos my Lips look odd & unnatural so I've been keeping a serious face in my photos. People can also tell I have had my lips injected, when before people thought they were natural. from the side there still appears to be a "duck like" shelf on top of my upper lip, so I went in today to have her dissolve it. Photos attached. Nayara was very quick & short with me today, pinching my top lip really hard & not giving warning before doing so which I found unprofessional. She kept telling me she thinks it looks fine & not acknowledging the "shelf" that sticks out on top of my upper lip. She dissolved one side, the fuller side & said "if it's filler it will go away" when it clearly is filler since my natural lips don't protrude outward like that. She did not use the numbing product she should have used before dissolving, but was nice not to charge me to fix her error. She took approx 2 mins to do everything & she was not exactly friendly or accommodating. I'm a fair person & not writing this review to tarnish her reputation, I just wanted to share my own thorough and personal experience as each person is different. I know people who have gone to her that are very happy with her work. Having worked as a model for a long time, it's important that any cosmetic work appear as natural as possible. If you prefer an exaggerated, very big look to your lips I would recommend going to Nayara. I prefer a more natural subtle look. If your lifestyle can afford you to sit at home & not leave for 2 weeks because of the extreme swelling and bruising, then I would go to her too. If you don't have a high pain tolerance I also wouldn't go to her because her method is VERY invasive and painful- and I typically have a high pain tolerance! read more

SAVE YOUE MONEY & TIME. Normally don't like to leave a bad review but I tried calling 4 times to resolve this & they didn't pick up. THE BOTOX IS NOT BOTOX because it didn't do a thing, my forehead had complete movement exactly how it did before injections. Additionally, the injections left my forehead in pain for 2 weeks which is definitely not normal. When I called back to discuss, they didn't pick up all week. I tried calling 4 different times and there was no way to leave a message for a call back. I'm assuming the Botox was so diluted that it just didn't work. The first 2 times I went, it was great. The 3rd time, they made me wait 2 hours for my 5 minute appointment. I complained because I had to leave to be somewhere. And my complain I mean I went up to the front desk and nicely asked why I had to wait so long if I had an appointment. Told them I had to leave to pick my child and that's why they quickly took me in after a TWO HOUR WAIT past my original scheduled time. The fourth time I went it was the experience I'm describing where the Botox didn't work AT ALL and left my forehead in pain. So do yourself a favor and save your money & your valuable time. After following their instagram for months I always knew this was the places I was going to trust beautifying me. I am so HAPPY I chose this place. I was super nervous, afterall it was my first time getting filler but the staff & especially Nurse Meri made me feel super comfortable. She guided me through it all, what to expect during & after care. I am shook, my lips went from 0-100 real quick. Nurse Meri really took her time to really make sure it was perfected, along with my under eye filler. I am so excited with my results that I am already planning my next appointment. I had actually been one of the Winners on her Valentine's Day giveaway. She scheduled me in within two weeks, and she had been so great throughout the entire process. And I just want to state, that when it was just her and I in the room, it was just her and I. Her focus was on me and me only. Being new to this LA trend of med spas , Botox lasers I thought I'd give BBN a chance and see what all the hype is about. I heard from a colleague that Nayera the lead provider was the best there was and had a great reputation in the community . Being very hesitant at first , I had to fix myself up for a wedding so I thought the heck with it. Nayera took her time with me , spent 15 mins explaining the side effects , expectations and course in detail. She was thorough , patient and had excellent bedside manner . Prior to going to Nayera, I was going to a well known plastic surgeon in the NJ/NY area. Although the was very professional, the product he was using just wasn't working for me. My lips would literally completely deflate within 2 weeks and it would cost an arm and a leg. After I tried Nayera, (about 1.5 years ago) I would never think of letting anyone else touch my face!!! I went in knowing what areas of my lips needed improvement, When it was my turn she explained everything thoroughly and pointed out the same areas I noticed with out me getting to mention them yet. Amazing amazing ! Nayera is one of the best. I've been going to her for about 3 years now . Prior to that I tried a few different places and no one can come close to the way she does. My friend and I got our Botox done by Elin and she was amazing. First of all, she explains everything very thoroughly and is so nice to answer all the questions we had.
