Jaswinder does it again! Stopped in on a Saturday with no appointment. Waited maybe a minute or two before my name was called, even though it was already pretty busy since they opened at 10am and I came in around 10:10am. Quick, clean, friendly. Was in and out within 5-8 mins. Wish I had someone like Jaswinder back in the Bay Area! Always make it a point to visit her when visiting my mom in Sac. Happy holidays ladies! I've been coming to beauty by thread for a while now and Ruby and Jaswinder are my two favorite. Both are super sweet and do a good job with cleaning up the brows and making them look sharp! I had a really busy holiday season and it neglected my eyebrows. I walked in and was quickly served by Miss Vivian and let me tell you Vivian brought me back to life! I am Middle Eastern and I am very particular on how my eyebrows look. I am very proud of my eyebrows and Miss Vivian cleaned me up so well I felt like myself again. Beauty By Thread @Arden Fair Mall has been my threading spot ever since I moved to Sacramento in 2021. I typically get my brows, lip and chin done- which comes out to $27 total, and the prices have not changed significantly, if at all, in the past 4 years. Mamta, who was very talented and friendly, was my first stylist. I was bummed when she left but now I have Jaswinder as my stylist- she does wonderful work and she's efficient, friendly and listens to your needs. BBT has a point reward system if you download the free app. After earning a certain amount of points you receive 1 free threading service (can't remember if it's limited to eyebrow service and also don't remember how many points you need to accumulate). Although BBT does accept walk-ins, I'd recommend making an appointment, especially if you want a specific stylist. Booking an appointment on the app is super easy and they have plenty of time slots available on the daily. They take their appointments and 1-minute grace policy seriously so be on time! Depending on the volume of customers, they may even take you a little sooner than your appointment. In the past 4 years, there have been less than a handful of times where I've had to wait 5 min after my scheduled appointment to be seen but those were unique situations (e.g., dissatisfied customer returning to get brows fixed- per BBT's 24-hour satisfaction guarantee policy). I don't mind the wait, however, because Jaswinder does a great job, the staff are generally professional, friendly and efficient and there is comfortable, clean seating. Potentially helpful things to note: - accepts tap/Apple Pay - accepts cash tip or tip on card - park and enter near the Forever 21 read more

If you need threading services, see Ruby at Beauty by Thread at Arden Fair Mall. She's the manager but it's easy to book with her or request her when you're there. She's so talented and amazing. My husband and I have been going to her for years. Whenever we're in town, we make sure we go see her. The thing we love about this location is that after every customer they wipe down the seats after every guest, they switch gloves, and they use disposable spoolies. They try their best to be sanitary. They definitely set the bar high. read more

I'm a regular here and I'm not sure if it was a bad day but the service was the worst . The ladies doing my brows were so rough I'm bruised and all cut up. Last time I was here one brow was shaped and one was straight. I had to get it fixed at a new place. They used to be so great and regarding my eyebrows they used to de-li-ver! My threader was Harpreet. She was very thorough at getting all the hairs but she was extremely rough. She yanked hard and threaded all the way down to my cheek even though I just asked for eyebrows. She left my eyebrows with no shape, they're extremely flat. Then when she was putting on the cooling gel she was smacking my skin everytime she came back down on my skin. She didn't gently rub or gently massage my temples. Very very rough threader. Never had someone so rough before. read more

I've been a regular customer who always tips, but I'll never go back after this experience. A large chunk of hair is missing from the top of my eyebrow, and instead of taking responsibility, they brushed it off and insisted nothing was wrong. Poonam even tried to cover it up before Vivi looked and said the same. I left feeling dismissed and uncomfortable, like I was being accused of making it up. Extremely disappointed. read more

Unfortunately I will no longer be coming to this place anymore. There have been 2 different occasions where after getting my eyebrows threaded I have broken out into tiny pimple and rash like symptoms. This must be from them either using dirty yarn or not washing their hands. I'm not sure what it is but it's unacceptable and I'm really upset and sad that my skin is now extremely messed up. I have never had acne or any kind of pimples on my face so I know it was cause by the threading. Please don't come here unless you're willing to risk your nice skin breaking out disgustingly. As a busy nurse manager, finding time before or after work can be tough, and I truly appreciated how flexible and accommodating they were with my schedule. Before my appointment, they sent a detailed questionnaire that included emergency contact information and questions about allergies or sensitivities. I thought this was such a thoughtful and professional touch, especially from a safety perspective. When I arrived, Sharolyn greeted me and took the time to really understand my hair journey and what I was hoping to achieve. She was kind, knowledgeable, and clearly very skilled. I asked for a bob/lob with subtle highlights, and she absolutely delivered--she listened carefully and executed exactly what I had in mind. Sounds funny, but eh, at least I don't have the mushroom top head look. My thick hair and the cut I want is not an easy hair cut to do. The description sounds funny, but with gel it's a clean military look or akin to school kids going to grade school. Not my thing but, the maturity aura can be fixed with longer hair on top. Believe the best way to say is it that I have a heart shaped face. That means the top of my hair should look like an egg to my preference. The haircut I want isn't for the faint. Mess up and you cannot fix it. It's why most fades on my hair type sticks out and is not flat on the sides like a flat top. Once Mindy understood I was willing to take the risk, I was rewarded in something that many hairdressers cannot cut and or is willing to do. Which is to fade free hand, then rat tail comb fade the edges on top with a clipper and texture with scissors. Mind you I watched a long time before giving her the go ahead to take the risk. Sounds a lot of work right? Hair dressers will complain doing this type of cut. It's a lot of work, will take time. Mindy does this for me. And for that I tip well. To be fair, I get my hair cut once a month. But it's usually the best way to learn as the hair has grown out and everything needs to be redone again. Note. Tip what you can, I usually tip hourly wage max to half. Mindy gets more, that's how much I like the cut. 15 to 25 percent minimum wage is a good tip. That being said Mindy takes time, is patient, and remembers you. Everything you would want in a hairdresser. I really should come every two weeks but I got things to do. Mindy does textbook style hair cutting. Which doesn't work with my hair cause you don't really expect an Asian with an Afro like hair type, thick, and straight. Takes time to learn cultured hair types. My hair is a rarity. Mindy learned quickly how to cut and tame it. Qualities of a true hair dresser. Note. I got my hair cut by Lynn too. She's good, but she's busy and I believe she understands my haircut and hair is annoying to do. The guy and new girl are good too. Just a preference and patience to be had.

I was also able to avail of a Groupon deal for a blowout, haircut & deep conditioning treatment too. Appointments required, either via Vagaro or phone, 48-hour cancellation window. His hours are only Wednesday through Saturday. As other reviewers have said, the parking situation is scarce. The salon is located in Land Park between Sac City College and Meet & Eat, by the Plaza Cervantes Park on 11th Ave and Freeport Blvd. There are free spaces along the curb right in front of the business, but the slanted spaces facing the grass are 15 minutes only. On the other side of the grassy area, they say 1 hour parking until 7 PM, and the ones along Freeport are for Zipcars; the rest is residential. I was told that the parking enforcement isn't as bad now since it's summer and school isn't in session, but I expect that when it is that you'd have to move your vehicle mid-hair appointment. A bright, clean, and inviting Aveda salon space. Only a brief wait (minutes) before being seen by Stephen, I declined refreshments but they did have sparkling water. I had shown some inspo photos which were more conservative collarbone-length A-line angled bobs with or without wispy/blunt/curtain bangs. Ultimately, I went even shorter with a chic layered bob with side-swept bangs. Dry chop first, then the shampoo/conditioning before the real cut and styling/blowout. Stephen has over a decade of experience and has been at Moski for almost a year now. Easygoing relaxed conversation but quality work attentive to detail and the finished look came out super cute for this last part of summer! Definitely feeling fresh and loving the new hair.

My manicure tech first told me she wouldn't cut down my nails shorter after I had asked her to which she responded "it'll look ugly". I understand for specific nail shapes like almond a specific length is required to achieve that look but not for square. I then told her about how my family owns nail shops and she proceeded to make a comment about how it's a chop shop based on its location. In any circumstance when is it ever appropriate to make that comment?? This salon is nice and it is on the pricier side but the service does not meet the price point. I had multiple witnesses as well who can attest to these comments since I went with my friends. My square shape also came out wide, bulky, and ugly. I had to refile and reshape themselves. I can't speak for everyone but that was my experience at Blush and I won't be back.

I made an appointment for 9:45am and was immediately greeted and seated at a pedicure station - I was also offered water too. I went with the Deluxe Pedicure which was $42 + extra for the Gel polish. The lady who did my pedicure was very friendly while taking her time - she did a great job! They're very personable at Monet Spa which I also like - the owner remembered my name and that I'm married and have a daughter. The staff is always so grateful to see you back too! Overall, I'm glad I decided to come back and give them another chance. This is definitely my new favorite nail salon!
