This area of western Chester County (Guthriesville, Glenmoore, Honey Brook) is lacking in sit-down restaurants with liquor licenses, so if you Google restaurants and this is your locale Beaver Creek Tavern is going to come up. My wife did just that a few months ago and we decided to give the place a shot. This place is off the beaten path and very unassuming. If you walk in through the main entrance you hit the bar, which has all the look and feel of a taproom frequented by locals, which it is. I asked the bartender if they would serve a family with young children, she pointed me to the dining room. The dining room is just off the bar but none of the noise carries over. Our waiter was Jonathan, he was very attentive and got our drinks out right away. The menu is standard American fare: steak and seafood, salads, sandwiches and deep fried bar staples like buffalo wings and potato skins. Draft beer is available, we didn't try any wine or hard stuff. There's a kids menu with the usual choices of things like chicken fingers and fries. The prices are reasonable for the quality and portions of the food. Our food arrived quickly enough and Jonathan was ready to refill my beer as soon as I finished my first one. We've returned once already and plan to go again. Before I sign off, I wanted to address another reviewer's concern about this place. When we arrived for our second visit I saw two moms, one of whom appeared to be Latina, with their kids leaving this place. They were smiling and chatting pleasantly. I've seen at least one Black patron in the sports bar. Our waiter was gay. There's NOTHING political about the Beaver Creek Tavern. Unless you insist on only patronizing businesses that market their "wokeness" you will be treated right. read more

Generally the food and service is very good, the issue is the drunk, loud, obnoxious customers, they probably violate multiple laws by continuing to serve people who are already west beyond "you've had enough sir". One loudmouth drunk in particular can be found at the video poker machine at all hours, he can barely walk straight but they continue to serve him, I cant even tell you the number of family meals have been ruined by just this one guy. I will NEVER eat in the bar area ever ever again! I will continue the occasional take out but that's it. I'd recommend the local cops camp out across the street and fulfill their monthly DUI quota in about two days. This cant be legal!!! read more

We came in on a Friday night looking for casual fair. The menu looks expansive online, so we were interested to try different things. We were seated in the dining room, which is a bit outdated but quaint. We weren't provided menus initially, which I found to be extremely strange. Our server saw us seated and didn't come over for 5 minutes. Drinks came quickly, but we weren't given a cocktail or beer list. Also placed an appetizer in for potato skins. The unsweetened tea was disgusting. We wanted new drinks but our server didn't ever come back! 30 minutes passed and our server eventually came back. The food was SO good. The potato skins were delicious. However, because of the poor service, we chose to go elsewhere for dinner. Maybe we'll give this place a go for takeout. Very disappointed. read more

Casual bar dining as well as formal dinning available. Two patios one in front, one in back are pet friendly during the warmer months. Two parking lots are available for busy hours. Went to the Beaver Creek Tavern on a Sunday afternoon. We looked at the menu and it looked good ! As we walked in.....there was Loud Music playing in the bar area. No one was around to greet or seat us. My husband looked into the bar area and found no one. The music was so loud that I said lets leave. It's a shame that the bar is too near the eating area. It would be a nice suggestion to maybe put some kind of door there to block out the noise. Anyway...Not sure we will return. read more

It's such a cute place - just wish the food was better. Six of us dined and only half of us liked our food. My mother and I had the gorgonzola pasta, which was pretty good. My daughter had a chicken sandwich which she liked. However, the ribs tasted like they were frozen and the meatloaf was way oversalted. The service was good, though. read more

This is a great local place--reasonable prices, nice beers on tap, friendly staff and decent food. The dining room is small but nicely decorated. The crusted salmon is a good choice for the price--but there are many other lower priced items to choose from if you want lighter fare. They were very accommodating of our "large" group, celebrating a birthday. Our waitress, Sheila, kindly took a group pic after dinner to memorialize the occasion. If you're looking for a low-key, affordable local establishment, you would be hard pressed to find better. We have returned several times and have not been disappointed. Good value. Our return after the above was good but our third visit, not so much. The salmon was undercooked, one portion so much so that it was cold and returned to the kitchen. Other items were overcooked and the delicious mashed potatoes with some entrees were substituted with overcooked red potatoes. A cozy warm place! My friend had eaten there before and remarked about the size of the portions (huge), so we decided to split a house salad and a meatloaf sandwich. Good decision! They were nice enough to put our portions in separate dishes for us, and we both had plenty to eat! The salad was fresh and more than the usual iceberg and crouton fare. The meatloaf was tasty and again, an ample portion even though we split it. It came with sweet potato fries and a sauce /aioli that was out of this world! Some notes about the set up of the restaurant.... When you first walk in you'll find a small dining room that looks friendly and a little formal. This leads to the bar which was more casual and probably one of the friendliest bars I've been to in a long time. We decided to eat at the bar, but there are several high top tables as well. I love this restaurant. I'm just sorry I didn't explore it sooner. I've been there at least 5 times now and will continue to go. The atmosphere is cozy, casual and very friendly. The staff are so welcoming and helpful. Most of the offerings are scratch made - don't miss out on the desserts! All the fare we've tried were delicious: onion rings, Cajun chicken sandwich, pulled pork sandwich, lobster ravioli, fish and chips, jerk chicken sandwich, Maryland crab soup, French onion soup, bison burger and meatloaf. 4/7/15: Since my original review I've tried more items on the menu worth telling you about: steamed duck dumplings (incredibly yummy), buffalo chicken pasta salad (surprising satisfying and delicious), carrot cake and strawberry cake. Check out their weekly schedule on their website. They have Texas Hold Em on Monday nights in the dining room. There were still tables available but it got a little cramped. If you're the kind of person that doesn't mind having a friendly chat with folks this is your kind of place. The patrons there are just as nice as those who work there. read more

Fun place! Loud bar area for trivia (good thing for the party atmosphere) . Dining room was quaint and cozy. The mac and cheese is magic. The burgers are big and filling. Portions are good for the price. Figure on spending $20 for a beer and a burger. They have good specials and happy hour deals. Now, for the best part. The service was impeccable! Our server, Mandy was on point, nice, and just awesome. I watched the other servers and bartender, and again, they were rocking it on a busy Thursday . I will be back with my friends asap. Amazing beer selection - anything you want from your fundamental light beers to fancy craft beers that get switched out regularly so that you can refine your beer palate. Food portions are really big. Must trys: French onion soup (deliciously rich broth with generous cheese on top), cheesesteak eggrolls, chicken marsala, Philly cheesesteak (great cheese and roll), and homemade desserts (cheesecake, carrot cake, chocolate cake). Stopped in here on a weeknight with my brother for dinner. We sat at a high top table. Our waitress was a bit out of it as we had to ask for waters twice before she remembered to bring them. Once we ordered our apps, she forgot to bring us silverware for awhile. The food was decent and pretty good to my surprise. Service, however, was a bit lacking. We "fell" into there 7pm-ish one Sunday evening when we were exhausted from unpacking after a move and had found the dining room at our condo development closed. It was cozy and charming. We were warmly welcomed by the manager (owner?) and by the waitress. That late in the evening several of this things we wanted to order weren't available and in compensation they comped us a caprese salad. I had four-cheese flatbread pizza that's worth going back to have again. My wife had the bison burger. Excellent and cooked exactly medium as she wanted. Our daughter had (I think) a bacon & blue cheese burger which was better than OK but the bacon could have been a bit crisper. The dining room (where we were) was sparsely occupied but the sports bar section was full and booming. BUT! The noise from the bar did not project into the dining room. I guess the thick walls of an old building are good for something. We haven't lived in this area long enough to have a "favorite place" but Beaver Creek is a definite candidate. Good solid American food. Location is out of the way and parking in the remote locale can get difficult if the main parking lot is full. Service over several visits has been prompt and friendly. The dining area is removed from the boisterous bar area. Soups, salads and sandwiches are all ample and made.
