Stopped by their food truck on Jackson one day and was very happy with my lil mini donuts. They're nice and soft and come in so many different flavors! I also paired them with a small coffee just because it seems fitting and it was great. Good price for what I got and the mini and small make it seem almost guilt-free because they're so cute and tiny. Would definitely recommend getting one of each flavor you're interested in, and especially even just the classic cinnamon sugar because the dough honestly just melts in your mouth. I only gave 4 stars though because after a while they tasted the same (even flavored) but that could've just been a personal preference thing. Been to Beavers Donuts three times recently. Love the mini donut and choose-your-own-toppings concept. I've tried the s'mores, Nutella and banana slices, turtle, and peanut butter and chocolate toppings. The first two are my favorite so far. On my first visit, which was close to closing time, the employee gave us extra donuts at no charge so he could get rid of them. Everyone has always been very friendly. We happened to walk by the Beaver truck the day before and the smell of delicious fried donuts wafted my way and I regretted not stopping. The next day, even though me and The Boy had just stuffed our faces at Al's Beef, I wasn't going to let these donuts slip through my fingers again. Yup, amazeballs. I had no idea this was a popular truck and just stopped by because it was on my way to the train. It was my first time so I asked what was most popular, he said 70% of their orders are cinnamon sugar so I went with that. So fresh and tasty! There was a good coating, nice crunch on the outside, and super moist inside. I take a star away because I asked for iced coffee, not knowing it wasn't actually iced coffee. They just put their hot coffee over a ton of ice, so it was melted and watery by the time I was a block away. Yum! These donuts are mini sized so they are dangerously easy to just pop into your mouth. They're light, fluffy, and not too doughy or too cakey, just the perfect balance for a bite sized donuts. They have some traditional and simple donuts, but they can also drizzle toppings on them for you. Personally I always end up just going with the cinnamon sugar tossed donuts (and I'm not even a huge cinnamon fan - these are just honest to goodness the perfect balance of sweetness and fluffyness!). I had their s'mores donuts before too, and those were delectable but a much more heavy snack that I shared with a friend. Yep, all the grilled meat in the world can't compare to a few sweet morsels of grade A Beaver's doughnuts. The sample option was the s'mores doughnuts, which were arguably the greatest thing I have ever experienced. Warm and soft, with just enough drizzle of hot fudge and marshmellow fluff not to be too overwhelming, and topped with graham cracker. I am tearing up just thinking about it. Holy cow! Yesterday, I was walking down southport and I saw their truck on the opposite side of the road. I smelled their donuts and I was like, "omg. If I wasn't late, I would have to stop and get some." This morning, I was walking to union station and there's the Beavers Donuts truck. I took it as a sign from the universe that I had to go. Oh my- they sure didn't disappoint. Their donuts are all donut holes that are dipped in the topping of your choice. I picked regular chocolate, but some of their other selections sounded amazing, including: chocolate sprinkles, Nutella, and s'mores. Their coffee is Cuban coffee, so it's pretty strong. I got it iced with cream and sugar and it's so good. The bonus: I got 5 donuts when I was supposed to get 4.
