Upon walking in, the sign for the line caused a little confusion amongst guests waiting to order versus guests who already ordered, but it was quickly sorted. The cashier was friendly & the staff truly seemed happy working there which is always a plus for me! We ordered the Dubai Chocolate cookie & the happy hour cookie cup. The Dubai Chocolate cookie was astounding! They incorporated the flavor and texture of a dubai chocolate bar perfectly with the perfect salty & sweet balance! The cookie cup included cut up chunks of 4 different cookies (birthday cake, churro, apple crisp, & chocolate chip) which I appreciated as it helps for people who are indecisive but don't want multiple whole cookies! The apple crisp was BY FAR my favorite followed by the chocolate chip, then birthday cake, then churro. The churro cookie was the only one that really missed the mark for me as I would describe it as a sugar cookie with a hint of cinnamon but churros typically have a richer flavor. As a whole, I will DEFINITELY be back, just not order the churro cookie. read more

Overall, they just tasted like normal cookies with different toppings and mix-ins. The Cinnamon Roll Snickerdoodle (2/10) was edible but pretty disappointing. It had a cinnamon flavor with a blondie-like center, but nothing that reminded me of a cinnamon roll. The S'mores (4/10) was basically a chocolate chip cookie with graham crackers and marshmallows on top. I wish every bite actually tasted like s'mores instead of just the topping. It was also oddly salty. The Apple Oatmeal (5/10) was my second favorite. I liked the apple pie filling flavor, and the oats added a nice texture. It also had raisins throughout. The Dubai Chocolate (6/10) was my favorite of the four. I liked the crispy kataifi in the center, the pistachios throughout, and the chocolate chunks mixed into the cookie. I've always felt like aren't many soft serve spots in the area, so I was pleasantly surprised to find that the Cookie Bar also serves soft serve ice cream. We got the vanilla and swirl soft serves in a cup and the flavors were delightfully smooth and creamy. I didn't try their cookies but they look scrumptious and huge. Each cookie would be plenty for two people to share. The shop is small inside so it's just enough space to accommodate a small line for ordering. I love a bougie cookie, so as soon as I spotted this spot specializing in giant offerings I couldn't help stopping by! The shop was cute and pretty small with no seating, so this was definitely a treat for the road situation. A heads up that they do have a happy hour from 3:00-4:00pm on weekdays with rotating $3 cookies. I opted for the apple oatmeal and cookie in a cup. I absolutely loved the first- it was chewy, not too sweet, and tasted exactly like an apple crumble with the fresh baked apples. This was a 5/5 for me! I was very excited about the cookie in a cup, which has about 5-6 flavors of cookies chopped into bite sized pieces. It seemed like a great chance to try a variety of flavors. However, the bites were stale, hard, and overly sweet for the most part. Unfortunately, this was a miss for me. This place was incredibly disappointing. I had such high hopes. The shop is small, clean. Lots of cookies that look and sound like they should be absolutely delicious. The staff member taking orders was super friendly and helpful. Except for the part where they left out two of the cookies we purchased, which was pretty annoying since they were $5 or more each. They do a "temperature price" for their plain coffee, so the price will match the temperature as of 8 am. It's still cold in March, so it was 47 cents a couple days ago. However, the cookies were terrible. So awful. They had no flavor to them. Or good flavor, at least. They were not soft, but kind of dry and crumbly. I've never really understood what people mean when they say something tasted like cardboard, but now I get it because that's not a bad descriptor for these. I'd probably skip this place. In and around the Magnificent Mile you'll find so many places with better food, pastries, and sweet treats that it isn't worth a visit. Very small inside but lavished by their beautiful spread of cookies and, to my surprise, they even offer soft serve. Something for me to explore next time lol. This was my first visit to the Streeterville location and I was happy to see the selection was just as big as the restaurant one. We bought a total of 4 cookies and a cookie cup. I love the cookies from Summer House Santa Monica when they warm them up at the restaurant - specifically chocolate chip and rice krispe one - so was sad to see they didn't have that one in store, but they have other desserts on the menu as well as coffee options. This used to be the Epic burger a few years back, and the space is designed to be: you order at the counter and take out. There's no seating inside, but a few seats right outside lining the window. Michigan Ave. and all the local and touristy spots are right here. The decor in the store is beautiful and pleasant and clean. They just open one month ago and today is September 29, 2025 so give them some love and stop by and pick up some cookies because you won't regret it. Happiness to your five senses are all in this cute little store. So the cookies are actually very very good. You can smell the aroma as soon as you walk into the store and they are gigantic. Once you get closer to the cookies, you can see how beautiful they are. They also do thematic cookies based on holidays and special days and so wait for Halloween for example and come back then also! Tucked into the side of a very inconspicuous building lies The Cookie Bar, a cute boutique cookie shop offering oversized cookies and different drink options. When we were there there was no line or wait so we walked right in and ordered. The interior is clean and the staff is very friendly, and man those cookies look good. We ordered a snickerdoodle and a cup of milk (they rang this up as a custom input but they should definitely have it as an offering). They very clearly overcharged us for the milk and the manager even said it's not something they do, when they definitely should. We sat outside on their storefront bench and dug in, and man was the cookie good. The snickerdoodle flavor was rich and sweet, a great counter to the ramen we ate next door (shameless plug of our previous review). The milk helped wash some of the sugar down too, just a great combo. They should put out some napkins though because it can get messy fast. These are pale and raw. Cookies are BAKED GOODS, as in baked not raw. Bake them through. They're too sweet as well. It's not neccesary to make them this sweet.
