It was loaded with nuts, making every bite rich and flavorful. The single scoop was surprisingly generous too. If you're visiting for the first time, I highly recommend trying this flavor. That's what the sign said, so the lovely young ladies I was dining with, each decided to get a single scoop made of 2 flavors. One of them opted to have 2 flavors on a cone and the other got 2 flavors in a cup. For some reason, the 2 flavors on the cone were much larger than the cup. Same deal, same price...but I kid you not, the two flavored single scoop in the cup was much smaller than the one on the cone. If you're a bang for your buck kinda person, you might pay heed to this and opt for the cone from here on out. If you're like me though, you'll still choose the cup no matter what. I always find that ice cream cones make just make me too full and then they also make me thirsty so that I feel like I want a drink afterwards. Of course...if I'm in a situation where the ice cream comes on a cone by default (for example, a free ice cream after hot pot), I will eat the cone without any complaints. Given the choice though, I always prefer my ice cream in a cup. Easier to eat with a spoon than having to bite into it on a cone, doesn't overfill me and doesn't make me thirsty. As it turns out though, I did not get ice cream in a cup or cone this time. I treated the two young ladies to their ice cream, and I had planned on using my bday freebie to get my own ice cream in a cup. I made a discovery this year though. First of all, the bday freebie isn't really a freebie anymore. It's a discount. They give you $5 off. Also, it doesn't apply to getting ice cream scooped for you on the spot. It only applies to pints of ice cream, and you have to place the order through the app. So basically, you're being forced to buy a pint of ice cream and take it home. Not as great a deal if you ask me, cuz it's one of those situations where you're being forced to spend money in order to save money. I still went for it this time, and ordered myself a pint of Blueberry Honey Lavender. Drove back to my mom's house as soon as I could and scooped some into a bowl. It's a lovely flavor, but unless they bring back the bday offer that lets me enjoy a free scoop of gelato in a cup, I think I'll be passing on the Dolce Amore bday offer from now on.

Jalebi: enjoyed the slightly crunchy texture, but on its own it was a little too sweet for me. Would have again with tea. 2. Chickpea cookies: you know that delicious, melt-in-your-mouth quality you get with shortbread? These cookies were like that, but even better because they weren't overly sweet! 3. Shortbread sandwich: that's what I'm calling this treat, because it had two sun/star-shaped cookies with a layer of jam in between. The two elements were perfectly balanced! 4. Assorted shortbread: if I remember correctly, the flavours were lime and cardamom. Both were good, but not my favourites in this dessert box. 5. Heaven shortbread: definitely lived up to its name. Out of all the shortbread cookies, this one was the most buttery. 6. Apricot pistachio cookies: these were my favourite cookies. The apricot jam was sweet and tart, and the pistachios on top added a bit of texture contrast, which I always appreciate. 7. Baklava: I've seriously been missing out on good baklava until now. All sold by the weight ($9.99/lb). - Box ($10.00 for 10) - we opted for the coconut macaroons, walnut cookies, pistachio apricot, wild pistachio blueberries, apple filling and three pieces of baklava (cashew cinnamon, phyllo walnut and mixed nuts). The coconut macaroons and walnut cookies were similar in texture; soft and delightfully chewy. The pistachio apricot reminds me of my childhood (eating those Linzer cookies). We didn't love the apple filling or pistachio blueberry; more of a dry texture and it needed more filling. Baklava wasn't too sweet. Come for those deliciously soft and chewy macaroons! 3.5 stars.

If you are worried about freshness, I recommend asking them which "shirinis" were made that day or the day before to help refine your selection. They usually also have prepackaged shirinis that don't need to be refrigerated ready to go. You can also order customized birthday cakes and celebratory cakes from them.
