Superb service, tasty food, and great prices. We planned on trying a different breakfast place daily but ended up returning here instead. Will surely return next time we are in town.
Grabbed breakfast here the other day. Eggs were pretty standard but the cafe con leche kicked ass.
While stuck in traffic due to street closures this morning, we saw this spot and decided to have breakfast here and you know what, I'm not mad about it at all. The service was so friendly and attentive the vibes are very casual - fast paced. Our server Alejandro was awesome even though it was busy he always checked in with us. The Menu is simple enough but with a lot of variations. We ended up ordering the 3 golpes (Domican breakfast) and a ham and cheese Mallorca with cafes con leche. Everything was delicious. I'm talking about I licked my fingers without realizing I was. If in the area you should definitely stop by.

Truly confused about all the rave reviews. On our last day in San Juan, my friend and I were looking for a local/ authentic breakfast spot and La Pradera popped up as highly recommended in our search. If you go on a weekday, you'll most likely have to park in the paid garage (it was about $2.75 per hour). We sat at the bar and quickly ordered a cafe con leche, French toast and scrambled eggs with ham. While the food was cheap, it was not as amazing as people described it. The coffee was strong which was good, but that's about it. The rest of the food, while not terrible, was nothing to write home about. At this point, I'd rather pay more money and get something tastier. And it just looked sloppy. Also, the employee helping us was rude. Despite the low prices, La Pradera was far from worth it for me.
Highly recommend this place for a quick bite with an espresso on the side! I love their espresso so much. For $2 I could drink it everyday. I love that they serve it with cane sugar! Such a good pair. Food - I ordered the cubano and it was so good... I just wish the pork and chicken was shredded. They used big chunks of meat which made it hard to chew but the bread was excellent. I was looking forward to their Dominican breakfast but it was not available. I tried calling ahead to ask but was not able to get a staff that understood me but that's ok.
Walked in here for some breakfast and was a little disappointed. Ordered a mallorca with eggs, ham, and cheese. I was expecting the bread to be toasted nice and hot so that the cheese would be nice and melted and the ham warm but instead it was lukewarm and for some reason had powdered sugar on it. I'm really not a fan of powdered sugar on a ham and egg sandwich. The Spanish farina or avena was very good and had a good taste to it. Was looking forward to the coffee but the lights went and that was the end of that. Overall I would try this place again for different breakfast items.

La Pradera did not disappoint! I had the taste for a diner style breakfast and this place hit the spot. It's a local spot and they speak limited English, but the service was great! I ordered eggs, bacon and toast. The food was very fresh and chemical free unlike some of the food we purchase at home. I had never had toast cooked in the manner in which they prepared it, but I gobbled it down. The fresh squeezed unprocessed orange juice was so good I had to drink two glasses. My breakfast was under $10! read more
I asked the concierge at our hotel in San Juan if he could recommend a small, good local restaurant frequented by folks around the area. He recommended La Pradera. Alejandro invited us into La Pradera restaurante. My wife had the Camaron Mofongo and I had the Grouper in Garlic Sauce. Both were amazing. My favorite thing ordered....the Passionfruit Juice. Food was fantastic, service impeccable, no wait, and prices are phenomenal! A bit hard to find according to Yelp instructions but it is a few doors down from the Subway. Parking on the side by the grocery store! read more

This gem of a "greasy spoon" eatery is a must for those staying in the Myanmar district of San Juan. The Cuban sandwich is one of the best we've ever had and the ham and cheddar omelet was delicious. Our waiter was fun and friendly, the ambience was inviting and comfortable. We followed tourist guidance and took our time. I highly recommend this "criollo" eatery for breakfast and lunch. read more

Where the locals dine!! The prices are more reasonable than another spot we visited down the road. The sangria is the BEST I've ever had!! And can I just mention the service superior from the moment we entered the door!! And don't forget the food is deee-li-shush! read more

Pradera is a family owned restaurant. We walked in and we're greeted immediately. Our waiter was Alejandro. We started off with Cafè (coffee), it was made fresh. We had just missed breakfast and I was a bit disappointed because we got there late. I wanted to try the Mayorca so bad! Staff were still able to satisfy my craving! I ordered the Mayorca with ham, eggs and cheese, so did my son. He loved it so much that he ordered a second. Mayorca is a very popular light sweet Puerto Rican bread. We also ordered the rice, beans and NY steak. The food was very good! Any staff that walked by the tables would ask the customers if needed anything, they would bring it to you as well which was very impressive. You typically see your assigned waiter/waitress. Staff seemed to get along and didn't mind helping each other. I recommend this place give them a try! We will return again when we visit the island. read more

Loved the food, loved the service, and loved the atmosphere. It was very much in the heart of San Juan, but felt like a mom & pop diner. It was lunch, but the cook was nice enough to make pancakes for my son. My daughter was craving soup, and it tasted AMAZING. My wife had the mofongo which was awesome and I had a pork steak. The prices were fairly reasonable and doable for a family. read more

This place is SUPER affordable for breakfast. It's a low key, local spot with great prices (you can get a sandwich or plate of eggs/meat for less than $6). The only knock is that the service is just OK...the couple of times I was there, there was only one waitress for a bunch of tables, so it often took a while to get serviced. The food is great though, and very affordable for the area. I would definitely come back here. read more

Visitors and Locals - go here! Tiny little place in a row of shops, 4 tables for 4 4 tables for 5 Clean and simple. Ordered the ham, egg, and cheese Mallorca (Choice of Swiss, cheddar, or American cheese) for $4.50 and it was so delicious - and I paid $12 for the exact same thing 2 days ago at another cafe. Also got the Tamarind juice - so yummy. Make this a stop! read more

For such great prices, this is an easy spot to go to for something quick. I came here based on the previous review about the Dominican breakfast but unfortunately they said it was only served on Saturdays. The expresso was a hit. My mayorca sandwich was simple, first time trying that type of bread. I probably wouldn't get powdered sugar though because the sweetness threw me off. If you're looking for inexpensive and quick, this place fits the criteria. read more

Very homey, great service, friendly staff, and tasty tasty breakfast. It's a cute mom and pop place that serves quick breakfast. I had the mallorca and asked for powder sugar on top. So amazing! And the avena was hearty too! Definitely recommend and go back for more! read more

The food here is AMAZINGGGGG!!!!! It's definitely a local neighborhood GEM !!!! Traveling from nyc and I loved eating here my self , toddler and niece all had plates of food and our total came up to $22. 25 including drinks ! I will definitely be visiting again I almost don't want anyone to know this spot !!! It's super budget friendly !!! Especially traveling with large groups and families!!! The food was amazing and I can't wait to try again !!!! We got here around 10:30am and was seated right way ! Food is 10/10 get the sweet bread with ham and cheese yum !!! read more

Oh my gosh the seafood mufongo was literally THE MOST amazing thing I've ever eaten. You have got to try it. Mind blowing!! The tamarindo juice was delcious! Our server Alejandro was the best! Great experience! read more
