First, let me preface this by saying it has been difficult for me to find reliable services in Simi Valley since I moved here 6 years ago. So I doubly appreciate the prompt, courteous and professional service I received from Beck's Plumbing this past week. I recently had my kitchen countertops replaced with granite. I needed to find a plumber to unhook my kitchen plumbing and then re-hook my new sink and faucet after the new counters were installed. I left one detailed voicemail with Beck's and the promptly called me back and offered to come right over and give me an estimate on the job. Once at the house, I was given a fair estimate for the work (plus a small leak in a pipe that perfectly coincided with his visit) and he was able to do the unhooking and leak repair that day. As promised, they were back the day after the countertop installation to reinstall my plumbing, sink and faucet. My kitchen looks fabulous and it was a stress-free project thanks in part to Beck's plumbing. I'm definitely keeping their number on hand for our next project (or leak). I called very early in the morning and there was an answer. He stated he could come over later this afternoon; told me the time would be between 2 & 4 and arrived shortly after 2. I apologized for the mess and he assured me that we all look the same when it comes to the clogged toilet and it was his job. I stopped feeling so bad. He took about 5 minutes and was done. We woke up to the sound of water spraying in our upstairs bathroom, called them as soon as they opened. They were here with in the hour and took care of the problem. They were professional, polite and best of all explained everything they were doing. Great family owned business! Initially called about a month ago for dishwasher concerns, found out ways to problem solve per the two brothers. Didn't charge one dime to come out! Offered solutions to other plumbing issues throughout the house (free of charge also). Extremely professional and polite. Ended up setting up follow up appt. for a water heater replacement as well as a new kitchen faucet install. Father and son came out this time and were so kind, clean and again, went over and beyond! They even fixed and replaced hoses under kitchen sink as well as water heater free of charge! Overall, very impressed with this company. Beck's Plumbing blew me away with their honesty. James, the owner, came to check out what I thought was a leak underneath a slab and to evaluate our water heater. Turns out I did not have a leak and our water heater still has another 5 years. Not once did he try to push a new water heater or make me feel like there was a leak. Instead he checked everything for free and reassured me that it was fine after running several tests. I haven't experienced that kind of honesty and customer service in a very long time. I called Jim on Sat regarding my water heater. He correctly diagnosed the problem (thermo coupler issue). I called the manuf and they shipped replacement parts at no charge (under warranty). This is my first review in yelp. I felt that I needed to share my story about first using my home warranty company, and a contractor that I felt was taking advantage of me, to learning that I could request a cash pay out and use a local contractor who was honest. That's how I found Beck's Plumbing. I read such great reviews on Yelp about this company that I called him for help to replace my water heater. I was so surprised how helpful Beck's was. They even offered to stop by and check what I honestly needed. I was able to get a cash pay out from the warranty company and have Beck's replace my water heater for less than I would have paid going through the warranty'a contractor. What a great surprise. These guys deserve every star!!! 1st we had a major flood in the garage to find that the water heater had burst. We called several of the plumbers here with high ratings and the price was comparable. Becks was able to come out the same day even though the father was on vacation that week. Jeremy did a great job and got it all done that day (Friday) and even discovered that we had very high water pressure into the house which meant the regulator had to be replaced. My husband is pretty good at plumbing and did most of the job taking all day Sunday but couldn't get the last joint to solder. He was so frustrated! Meanwhile I'm talking to Beck to schedule the job for that week and told him what was happening. I said we could make it until the next day without water. We were trying to get some dinner together ... waterless ... when we hear a knock at the door and Jim was standing there and said "I felt bad that I had water and you didn't ". What a sweet guy! Complimented my husband 's work and fixed the last joint. It was a challenge even for the professional plumber but he did it and didn't charge a lot either! I agree with the other happy clients that this is one great family team. They returned my initial call within 20 minutes and were at my house within the designated time frame which happened to be only two hours away. Making the designated window is amazing enough in my experience. My water heater was not staying lit. My husband was pretty sure he knew what part needed to be replaced. Jim confirmed this part needed to be replaced. He did not try to talk me into a more expensive repair. He proceeded to call the manufacturer right there (on speaker so I could hear) and ordered the part to be delivered to my home. What I didn't realize, but Jim did, was that the manufacturer was not charging us for the part! Turns out it was still under warranty and I had no idea.Jim and his son left and told me to call them when it got in and they would come replace it. The part arrived in two days ("Brrrr). I called Jim at 2:00 on a Friday afternoon. I heard back from him within minutes again and he was there and gone by 3:15! No more cold showers for this girl! I am very impressed by the personal service and honesty of this team. They only charged me for the install which was $95. I hope not to need their services any time soon, but should the need arise, I will not hesitate to use them again. read more
