I have been seeing my dentist Dr. Evonne Chui for the past several years, and she is fantastic. However, I was a bit apprehensive for a return visit due to COVID, but after my visit I was impressed with all the precautionary measures in place, so I felt comfortable and safe. Before allowing me to enter the office, she took my temperature, she wore face mask and face shield for extra protection, and ensures to wipe everything down before next patient arrives. I recently moved up here and was trying to find a good dentist who could help with some pain due to a fracture on my tooth. I took a look at my insurance and saw Dr. Chiu listed and decided to go in as they were able to see me at an early and convenient time. After some brief paperwork she quickly saw the issue and told me she would need to numb up the area to be able to repair the damage to my filling. I didn't feel any pain and was pleasantly surprised at how smooth and easy the whole visit turned out to be. It looks like a pretty new practice as most of the equipment looked to be in new condition so its good to know they're not using some big drill or anything. I will definitely go back here for my annual cleaning and would suggest to those who are looking for an awesome dentist in the area to do the same. read more

"I love going to the dentist!!" ..said no one ever...BUT... Dr. Chiu actually made my biggest fear a smaller fear. I haven't been to the dentist in a number of years and finally had to get some work done. Dr. Chiu was very nice and explained everything to me which helped calm my nerves. She gave me some suggestions at the end of my appointment and thoroughly explained why and not just the what. Welp. So disappointed and I have not even scheduled an initial appointment. Recently, I have had to change dentist due to a new insurance plan. I was excited to see that there was a dentist in my community that met the conditions of my plan. I left a message and requested a call back. Today, I received a call back from an individual who only identified herself as Ivory Dental. After a long pause, I stated that I had a couple of questions re: Covid precautions, dentist and appointment scheduling. The (random individual) whom I assume was the receptionist seemed put off by my initial question regarding Covid precautions. She responded only with "we limit the number of patients and everyone must wear gloves and a masks." I asked is that all or is there anything additional. She seem both perplexed and bothered by this question and any additional questions I may have needed to express. She never told me about the steps for scheduling an appointment, appointment preparation, parking, insurance. Essentially, it was up to me to lead the call pertaining to the THE OFFICE for which SHE works. Keep in mind that I am extremely nervous about the quality of care I would be receiving after changing from a dentist I've had for years. I ended the call with the feeling that she didn't have anything else to add and perhaps . . . . . this office did not need any new patients. I did try calling back to explain my experience but no one answers the telephone. If you make an appointment be sure to obtain answers to your questions . . . it will literally be like PULLING TEETH. read more

I wanted a second opinion,but did not have a dental practice in mind. After receiving a flyer from Ivory Dental, chose to give them a trial. I am so glad that I did. The proposed treatment plan I received there Matched that of the first dentist, but at a cost to me of $3,000 less. I elected to have Ivory dental proceed with the plan. I am in awe of that practice! The level of technology employed by this practice is like something out of science fiction. X-rays of my teeth were taken with equipment I have never before seen. LED screens in the room enabled me to see the same images the Dr. Was looking at. The Dr pointed out areas of concern and remedies. This is the first time I was able to see up close the inside of my mouth and the condition of my teeth. Needless to say, an eye opening experience! When it came to preparing crowns, I was not subjected to a mouthful of goop. A magical wand was used to produce a 3D scan image of my mouth and teeth. The images can be manipulated to provide views from any perspective. When satisfied with preparations the images are electronically transmitted to the lab for crown fabrication. The dr. and her assistants, as well as office staff, exhibited concern for my comfort and well being. The Dr. Has gentle hands and a soft touch. Everyone was professional as well as friendly and confidence inspiring. The facility and furnishings are modern, pleasant to view, brightly clean, and comfortable. Everything looks brand new. I am pleased to recommend, without reservations, Ivory Dental to anyone in need of attention to their teeth. read more

I really haven't had good experiences with dentists. I was feeling reluctant to go to the dentist, but I needed a filling replaced. I'm glad I saw Dr Chieu. I went for a regular cleaning, doctor insisted a x-ray, I don't want to do x-ray because I worry about the radiation. But she just don't want to do a cleaning if I don't want to do x-ray. I don't think that necessary considering I am not a new patient, and I had some x-ray a year ago from orthodontists, I can send to her. But she said she must do it again because I have not visited her for a year. Should I keep visiting her if I have no issue on my teeth? I know x-ray maybe more easier money for her than cleaning. She sounds that is for my benefit, I don't buy it. I end left the office without anything done. I was driving long way and take a day off for this appointment, because I don't want a new patient pocket exam again for another doctor. Last time Dr Chiu did the pocket exam, although I didnot want to, but she insisted as I am a new patient, I noticed my gum had slight more recession immediately after the pocket exam, of course the doctor will say that my gum disease get worse not her... she was not as gentle as she promised for sure. I certainly don't want that again. I want to tell her, all of those damage on patient teeth/gum, is permanent, if you cannot be sure that is zero side effect, please don't overdo any procedure which the patient don't want to do. read more

She explained the procedure ahead of time and would check-in on me throughout the procedure to make sure there was no to minimal pain. I saw Dr. Chiu where she previously worked. Another dentist had diagnosed me as being in need of $1000s of dollars worth of work and had stressed me out by diagnosing every possible potential problem with my teeth. On a recommendation, I went to see Dr. Chiu for a second opinion. She helped me immediately because she recognized that the pains I was experiencing were from clenching my teeth and from my gums receding, not primarily from tooth decay as the other dentist suggested. She gave me simple exercises to reduce my clenching, and recommended I change toothbrushes. These were simple changes I could do immediately for free, and my shooting pains went away basically for free. She also fit a crown for me and replaced a complicated filling at the back of my mouth so that it was better than what my previous (childhood) dentist had done. She communicated very clearly about what issues I had, possible treatments, risk and cost of each one versus waiting. I felt no pressure to choose unneeded procedures, and she accepted my decisions immediately, not trying to sway me towards more treatment than necessary. I highly recommend her. read more
