It took me a week to post this. I never had an issue with food quality. Last Saturday i ordered from Halsey location. This is what we received. SPOiLED grilled Lobster tails. The smell was horrible and we could have gotten extremely sick. The chef knew these were un edible to even have them deliver it. Unacceptable. When I tried calling establishment located on Halsey to make complaint nobody picked up. I have been supporting this chain since yall opened through deliveries and catering orders. I haven't come here in several years but not much has changed-- good food with rude service. I ordered a veggie sampler but opted not to get a third side. The initial lady who took my order was fine. However, my friend took awhile to make up his mind and another lady helped him, who was rude. I came back in to purchase a drink and she acted as if I was bothering her. That's how good the food is, So good this is the second time we've had them cater a family event, The fried chicken, fried whiting, green beans, fried shrimp and especially, the sweet potato cornbread. Great stuff!!! Everyone really enjoyed the food. Seeing the crew working in that kitchen, they really put love in their food. Prices are moderate and the food is of good quality. No place to sit and eat, and they do offer smaller combo meals. No physical menu so scan the QR codes for the menu. Can order ahead if desired, which I do recommend. Food is constantly flying out from online orders, call ins and walk ins so it's consistently fresh food served, so you may have to wait a bit. This place deserves zero stars for their rude staff and extreme wait time for food orders. I was in Brooklyn and wanted some fish so I tried this establishment. Big mistake! I ordered fish with cabbage and yams, and my husband ordered a fish and chip. It took 40 minutes to get the order and that was after having to question such a long wait. I also observed how they spoke so rudely to other customers and food delivery workers waiting for their orders. It's extremely hot in the store as well.. no A/C! The restaurant is running a 2 for one special. I get to the restaurant and place my order via the Uber Eats app. I made a mistake and chose orig meal instead of 2 for one, mind you I order 2 meals expecting 4. I asked what could be done realizing my mistake. NO HELP, NO ASSISTANCE, other than to tell me to contact Uber Eats. Since it would have been the same price for 4 as it was for 2 (hence the special), they could have simply just added the extra 2 meals. We have to be more accommodating and helpful towards one another instead of dismissive and standoffish. Finally caught a BOGO special on a food delivery app. Bed-Stuy Fish Fry showed in the list of suggestions. I've ordered takeout and delivery from various BSFF locations previously and I'm usually satisfied. Today, I selected the salmon bites over shrimp fried rice. The salmon was cut into nice bite-sized pieces and they tasted really good. I worry about salmon being overly "fishy" or covered in gooey salmon skin but thankfully, there was none of that with my order. In my opinion, the fried rice was missing a few key elements like scrambled egg, scallions, onions, bean sprouts... I know that this isn't Asian food but some ingredients should come standard in certain dishes. The rice was certainly overloaded with mixed vegetables and that's not a plus. Still a pretty tasty dish overall. Along with my BOGO special, I ordered a slice of pineapple coconut cake for dessert. Fluffy, sweet-so good! My free second order is for tomorrow's lunch. If your craving Thanksgiving food during anytime time of the year there food is very tasty and flavorful compared to the other locations. Food: 4/5 The macaroni and cheese is always AMAZING. the collard greens are tasty seasoned and always hit the spot. I've tried the cabbage and it's alright. Mash potatoes are good as well. The turkey meatloaf is decent kind salty -- but the shrimp is so good. I've tried the yams and there sweet but they taste like how grandma or mom would make them during the holidays. Service: 2.5 -3 /5 Depends on the time and day you go honestly. They need to work on customer service. Some of the women which is a huge percentage of the staff working there are not always pleasant. So I stopped in my old neighborhood, and saw that after all these years this restaurant was still open. What once had a line had none. That should have been a sign. When ordering we were met by an unfriendly host with an attitude. She rushed through our order and when asked if they had wheat bread to go with the fish sandwich she stated "that's all it's served with" as if we knew that. It's amazing to me the attitude of the workers. Simple questions should receive answers that are not snotty or made to seem like we are dumb. Most places ask if you want white or wheat bread. I started coming to the Bronx location when the opened up. I must say it use to be good but lately last two visits the food hasn't been good at all. I decided to give it one more try today. One platter was fish, yams and Mac and cheese and the other was shrimp with rice and yams . Both platter was horrible. What happened here? I am truly confused. The food at this location used to be so good but after my order tonight this will be the last time I'll eat anything from here. First and foremost half of my order never arrived but I don't blame the delivery person because he can only deliver what he's given. What I did receive was a fried whiting dinner with collard greens, mac n ' cheese, salt and sugar. Yes, you read that correctly. The salt is so prominent you HAVE TO drink water after eating a forkful. I'm guessing the person who prepares the greens may have dropped the whole container of salt into the pot and then tried to cover it up by adding sugar to balance it because that's what it tastes like, sweet salty greens and the after taste is horrendous. I'm also guessing that EXTRA salt dropped into the pasta water which is fine- however adding MORE salt with salted butter and salty cheese is not a good look. The fish somehow didn't get as much salt as the sides but it sure sat in that oil for a good while and then I'm guessing it sat under the heat lamp where it dried out every piece on my plate. It was so dry I wasn't sure if it was actually fish. It just tasted like fried air or better yet fried fish skin. What happened here?? There are so MANY Bed Stuy residents that will support local eateries especially Black Owned establishments but when the quality of food fails why should we continue to support? Consistency is vital, Good Customer Service is vital. It is my hope that at some point they figure out how to fix this situation and get it together but the damage has been done . First time here. The place wasn't packed so the service was quick. The plates are expensive but the equality of food and the quantity is very good. The servers were friendly and welcoming. I do not recommend this business simply because it will take 2 hours from when they say "it's ready" for it to ACTUALLY be ready. I spent 2 hours waiting and everyone in the store that was there had also been there for hours. The food is good but not worth the wait. The customer service is trash honestly from them having attitudes to them not wanting to answer questions or being rude in their responses I do not recommend this business to my worst enemy. The ambiance is also run down and just falling apart. The counter is rotting away and the food section looks dirty and run down. This place needs to really get their whole lives together.
