What started as a promising takeout meal ended up being one of the most regrettable dining experiences I've had in a while. We ordered a pork bánh mì with spicy sauce, rare steak pho, shrimp summer rolls, and a milk tea with tapioca. On pickup, everything looked fresh and appetizing. The bánh mì had a crisp baguette, the pho was flavorful, and the summer rolls appeared well-prepared. During the meal, we genuinely enjoyed the food and had no immediate complaints. Unfortunately, the next day, both of us had diarrhea. While it's impossible to know exactly what caused it, this was the only meal we shared, making the timing difficult to ignore. Food can look and taste great in the moment, but food safety and proper handling are just as important as flavor. Given our experience afterward, I can't say I'd feel comfortable returning.
Bee Banh Mi is a quick, cute counter-service Vietnamese cafe. Sparse and simple inside. Staff was friendly and ordering was easy. I had the grilled pork Banh Mi. The ingredients were fresh and tasty. Bread was flaky with a chewy texture. Not the most traditional or authentic Banh Mi I've ever had, but it hit the spot for a quick lunch. Not quite a 5-star experience overall. But a very solid 4+. I will definitely be back for some pho and look forward to updating my review soon.
The banh mis are now my go to healthy and quick meal, literally so good!!! I got the pork banh mi and I knew it was going to be good as soon as I opened the box. Packed with veggies and meat, this is a well balanced sandwich with bright flavors in each bite. This is a chill local spot with plenty of seating inside and would be great for a casual dinner or lunch.
Bee Banh Mi is a very solid Vietnamese option with some fantastic food. Tucked away in a strip mall that is just off of the main road, this place seems to be a bit of a hidden gem. I mean, if I didn't know this restaurant existed, then I'd have no reason to ever travel down the side road that this place is on. But it is definitely worth it, they've got some great options and an item that you wouldn't expect to be amazing. As their name would suggest, Bee Banh Mi does a pretty decent job with their Banh Mi. I order the pork Banh Mi and it was a pretty hefty sandwich, but was well put together. The texture balance was spot on, the bread was crisp and not too soggy on the inside. The vegetables were fresh and had a nice crunch to them and the meat was tender. The flavors were also complimentary of each other. The pickled veggies countered the fattiness of the pork and the pork itself could be individually identified and had a nice bit of spice to it. I've also had their rice plate with pork. It came with a salad and some fish sauce. I think it was a pretty good dish, but the Banh Mi is a better bang for your buck. Something about taking a bite of different textures in flavors just resonates more with me. However, Bee Banh Mi's big surprise isn't a Vietnamese item, it is their french fries, particularly their chipotle dipping sauce. This side dish has a bit of a cult following, at least, among my group of friends. Sometimes they just come here to order a few orders of their fries, it is simply that good. Not only are they seasoned heavily, but the sauce is top tier. It's got a hint of sweetness with a bit of flare. I think it's better than my favorite Zaxby's dipping sauce or even Canes Sauce. It's crazy to think I am even raving this much about a french fry. As much as I think Bee Banh Mi makes great food, I think I don't come out here as often because their hours can be so unpredictable. I had an event here once and I drive out to find out the restaurant was just closed. On another instance, it seemed as if they were closing early so we weren't able to get the full representation of the business. Despite this, the few times I have been able to pull up, I've been treated to some delicious food and a good experience. I hope others can find this hidden spot!
I stopped by Bee Banh Mi for the first time recently, and I was pleasantly surprised. It's a small, casual spot in a strip mall, with bright yellow walls and cute bee-themed decor that really leans into the name. I ordered the pork banh mi--figured I had to try the namesake--and it hit the spot. The baguette was crispy, the pork was flavorful, and the pickled carrots added a nice tang that balanced everything out. For just $8, it felt like a great deal. Quick service & solid food--I'll definitely be back to try more from their menu!
A trip to this nondescript shopping center yielded a fresh and delicious lunch. The fries weren't quite as special as the other reviews seemed to suggest, but they were still fries and I was hungry. My banh mi with tofu was available with a garlic chili sauce for no extra charge, which was fantastic. A Thai tea was ample. And frankly, I still can't believe how good the price was for that lunch special. I had this place on my list for a while and hadn't made it because they weren't open Sundays, but if you're looking for lunch on a weekday, this is quality stuff.
Came for the Yelp Elite event and I am SO happy I was able to attend. I ordered the pork Banh Mi with a side of fries and a Thai tea. First, let's start with the inside. Super cute and cozy seating. There is a kiosk you can order from or there was someone present to take your order as well. I loved the Bee Decor! Adds some flare to the restaurant forsure. I had no trouble finding parking and they also had some outdoor seating available for a nice day. Ok, let's get to the food. I'm not sure if it was the owner I met, but he was very nice! He said he prepared my food for me and that I was going to experience a lot of flavors in this meal. And let me tell you, he did not LIE. The sandwich itself was so flavorful. Idk what they marinated that pork in, but kudos to them for doing so. The sandwich was topped with jalapeño, carrots, cilantro and pickled cucumber? We aren't sure what it was, but does that really matter when we devoured it? Not really. The fries were seasoned to perfection without being salty. It is very hard to achieve this. Another head nod. Also, the sauce is very much giving 'can I order a larger batch of it next time?' Because it is DELICIOUS. It's sweet with a variety of flavors we couldn't pinpoint, but once again, devoured. The Thai tea was also delicious. I truly had no complaints with this meal. My man had some and asked when are we going back lol. There were many other things to order besides the sandwich as well. Lots of options to choose from. So I definitely recommend checking it out if you're in the area!
Tofu on the tofu banh mi could use some salt or seasoning, but the bread was really good. Also great thai tea!
Bee Banh Mi is pretty good. It seems like a little bit of a twist on authentic Vietnamese, and I love authentic Vietnamese food. The Thai tea was phenomenal-a perfect sweetness. The grilled pork noodle salad is a delicious option. I love that Bee Banh Mi is in this area since there aren't any other Vietnamese restaurants close by. Also, the employees are very friendly and parking is a piece of cake!
If you haven't been, you should! Great location, friendly service, clean facilities. We did a large order and they big very well to ensure the food was correct and nothing was a miss. The. Food. Oh man... What a treat, what a treat! Everything was amazing. Fresh and delicious. No one complained about anything. Each thing was just as expected - will definitely be back!

If you are looking for Vietnamese cuisine in your area, I HIGHLY recommend Bee Banh Mi! All I could do here was BEE happy because that is just how good the food was here! We got the Vietstreet sub, Steak Pho, Shrimp Pho, Grilled Chicken Bao Buns & Shrimp Summer Rolls. Now you may be wondering what is a must try & my answer is the WHOLE MENU. Chef Rafa is absolutely amazing, his service is absolutely incredible & the food was even (dare I say) better! The owner of this family-owned business even came out and talked to us. She was incredibly kind and her family recipes she uses on her menu are impeccable! 5/5 Will definitely be coming back soon! read more

Really great food, fast and friendliest staff/owner. The place is clean and vright, with lots of parking. This is a small little establishment with very great atmosphere. You should try this place out for sure....we were just passing by. Thanks ladies for this great nourishment! read more
Really glad we decided to check this place out yesterday for lunch. Bee Banh Mi is nestled in a strip mall close by Apex Lake. Inside the building, they have a cozy seating area with not that many tables and so we considered ourselves lucky by finding a seat inside in this muggy summer. I ordered the Beef Bahn Mi while my partner ordered the Love Bao Bun with chicken. What I love about Vietnamese food is the addition of all the vegetables. I love the cucumber, pickled carrots, and cilantro on my Bahn Mi. It provides a nice balance to the beef. The Love Bao Bun were very flavorful and the buns themselves were nice and soft. We also ordered side salad and soup. The soup was very savory and vegetables in it, mushrooms, broccoli, thinly sliced carrots, made a very nice combination. Our only complaint was that the bottom of the salad container just had a pool of dressing so maybe less dressing would be better! A really nice thing about this place is the price. Bahn Mi starts at around $6 so it is pretty reasonable. Overall, we'll definitely add this to our list of places to return to! read more

We ordered the salad noodle bowls and were blown away by the quality and amount of food we got. Service was incredibly fast and we were greeted with smiles when we entered. The grilled pork/signature protein were both extremely flavorful and the vegetables were fresh. The amount of noodles under the protein + vegetables was substantial as well. Will definitely be coming back to try their banh mi! read more
When I say this is one of the best bahn mi's I've had believe me! It is sooo good! The side salad that you can get as a side (as well as a soup)has this dressing on it that is slightly sweet yet tangy and delicious! The owners are also super nice! read more

cute spot for a quick bite! food came out right away. I tried the banh mi sub and the bao bun. the bao itself isnt the best ive ever had but the tofu is very crispy and everything tasted fresh. good portion for the price. if youre vegetarian just be aware that the sub comes with meat pate unless you ask for it without. read more
Delicious. I ordered the tofu summer roll and beef banh mi for a quick to-go dinner. The creamy peanut sauce paired well with the fried tofu and fresh veggies in the summer roll. I also loved the banh mi: the baguette had a nice toasty crunch, the beef was well seasoned, and the veggies were crisp. Loved the kick from the jalapeños as well. This is a cute lunch spot. It was the Viet Street Sub-Banh Mi combo with fries and soup for me and the same Bahn Mi except with the five colors salad for my husband. For our protein we both chose the Bee BahnMi Signature (pork sausage + pork patty). The food was good and so was the service. read more

The food was good, however, I prefer to be waited on, not stand in line and order. The food is brought to your table after being given a number, it was quite busy, so waiting for the food was to be expected. Prices were very good, so no problem saying it's a great value in the Cary area.Not much ambience, still decorated with a Christmas greeting and tinsel. I had the tofu love bao buns, quite frankly, I have never had restaurant bao buns before, I have always made them from scratch at home. I didn't think the bao buns were as good as homemade version, not as yeasty flavored or big and fluffy. I did love the sauce that was served with the fries and on the Bao.My husband had the chicken pho, not much for fresh topping offerings, he said it was good but we both decided we most likely would never go back. We were comparing the restaurant to one we love in Greensboro but now that we have moved to Cary it is not convenient. We are still searching for epic Vietnamese in the Triangle, unfortunately, Bee Banh Mi isn't it for us. read more

We had pork ban mi in this small Cary eatery. Ban mi rolls were a bit too soft and bready, for me. Could have been better toasted. Pork was flavorful, but a bit dry. I had to add some hoisin sauce. Jalapeños and cilantro were fresh and crispy. Good lunchtime crowd in a weekday. Maybe we just ordered the wrong thing? read more
Came here on Sunday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised with the portions of the platters. It's worth the $2.99 for the combo as the soup is flavorful and full of veggies. The fries came out hot and with seasoned salt on them. I ordered the House rice platter with the grilled chicken and there was plenty of portion. The restaurant is clean with some outside tables. A good place to come to for quick service and to fill up! read more

Checked out this new restaurant. I love Banh Mi sandwiches, stopped in for lunch. Ordered a beef banh mi, chicken egg rolls and fried dumplings. Only complaint was the bread was very toasted, the egg rolls and dumplings were over cooked. I enjoyed the soup and shrimp chips. Will come back to try their boba. read more

My goodness! Generous portions, great flavor and super friendly staff! The hubs chose this on a whim and we will absolutely be back! I got the #5 house rice platter with chicken and he got the #1 Bahn mi with chicken and the fries/ soup combo! He loved the soup- the base is similar to a pho soup, and the bahn mi was very good! My salad had a great vinegar kick and I definitely could even finish the entire entree. It'll make a great pack lunch for tomorrow! We got a banh mi combo with a milk tea and a steak pho. Portions were sizeable, the food was delicious and it was very reasonably priced. The banh mi was so crispy and fresh with loads of fresh vegetables. The steak in the pho was tender and the broth was well seasoned, We'll be back. read more

My friend and I visited for dinner on a Saturday night. The order was delivered to our table quick, the staff was very welcoming. The interior lacks ambiance, it's just your basic strip mall restaurant vibe. If you dine in, expect your food served in to go plates and wrapped plastic utensils. The food was amazing. We ordered a shrimp pho, fried dumplings, summer rolls and a five colors salad with shrimp. There was NOTHING that was disappointing. Flavorful, cooked perfectly and delish. The best part, we had more than plenty to take home for later. The potions are nice sized and affordable. Definitely a must visit if you are in the Apex/Cart area. read more

I've had this on my list for a while now and we finally stopped in for lunch today. I ordered the Bahn Mi with the Signature option. My wife ordered the Salad Noodle Bowl with Chicken. And we split the Fried Dumplings and French Fries. The food was good. Not the best or most authentic Vietnamese food I've ever had but solid and local. The food was fresh & tasty and the prices were reasonable. The only disappointment was our booth. The table was far from each side and my seat was like a seesaw anytime I or the person behind me shifted position. I'll go with a table next time. We'll definitely go back. read more
Decided to get the veggie banh mi combo. The banh mi was okay and definitely could have used a little more flavor. I wish the bread was a little bit more crispy. The fries were great but would not recommend the veggie soup. The atmosphere inside seems like it is still coming together, but could still use some work. Overall, I think once this place has a little bit of time to adjust, it will be a lot better. read more

Was craving summer spring rolls and stopped by and placed to go order. Cute place and was starting to get busy as waited for order. Employees were friendly and courteous. Was not disappointed in spring rolls- got two orders -one shrimp and other was pork - dinner and lunch the next day. read more
You order up front; limited menu (which is actually good because it's not too overwhelming). Pho was actually good but not a lot of authentic protein options (i.e., tendon, tripe, etc that you can find in more traditional Vietnamese restos). I think they're making the menu more accessible to non-Asians. Overall, this is not a bad place for not-too-adventurous Americans to start. read more
