Highly highly recommend Chris at bee conscious! I had a horrible yellow jacket problem at my house and was seeing 25-40 a day. He came out without an appointment and took care of the problem. Had a large oak tree branch fall on my house due to a bee hive. Was a very sticky situation. After my second bee sting on my head in three weeks and my first experience with an epi pen, I immediately called Chris at Bee Conscious to remove an established hive in my exterior wall of my old shingled ranch house in Saint Helena. He came the very next day and, discovering that they were extremely aggressive and probably Africanized bees, he spent the day, and into the night, safely removing the very large hive with thousands of bees, the queen, and removing traces so no bees will return. Chris was so helpful and so fast to respond. I called because there were two bushes with about 50 bees flying in and out of them right by the front door. He arrived to our property about 15 minutes after I called. Very friendly and knowledgeable. He informed me that the bees were just feeding on the flower buds and that they were harmless. I learned that as long as the bees homes are not in the plant or nearby, they are harmless and will not attack, they are simply feeding. He even opened the plant up and waved his hands all around the bees and they did not sting him they were just flying around. I got some good bee education and I know who to call for any future concerns. Also there's no fee but he accepts donations to go towards a box he pays $250 for when he actually needs to relocate any bees I believe. I called Chris after discovering a hive in the wall of our studio. We had used foam to try to block them from entering the hive but they chewed through the foam. One of the first things Chris said was not to use foam. If anything use steel wool as bees can't chew through that. He is very knowledgeable and passionate about bees. He came up did his work and took the bees away to rehab them. Be forewarned it can get messy. In our case, the hive was behind a shower which had to be cut out in order to access the hive. We also had ants due to the honey. It was costly but well worth the money. I feel better knowing the bees have a better home. I would definitely use him again. Hope we won't need to. read more

Early this week I was in my garage when I heard what sounded like a dull motor noise outside. My neighbors who were on their deck when I stepped outside got my attention and said "look up in the sky toward your roof line." Looking up I saw what appeared to be thousand of bees swarming around. After about 30 minutes they attached themselves to the side wall of my house. An hour later they appeared gone but upon further investigation I noticed they were penetrating a cavity near my roof through a small hole. Chris was absolutely fantastic! We discovered a nasty yellow jacket hive in one of our backyard bushes and I called him and he was at our place within an hour, taking care of the removal of the nest. Chris is incredibly polite, personable, knowledgable, professional and solved our yellow jacket problem permanently. He showed up exactly when he said he would and took care of everything in less then 20 minutes. His rates are right on par with the quotes that trickled in later that afternoon, as I began receiving return phone calls from the voice messages that I left with other pest control companies. Out of the 8-10 other pest control companies that I called, not only did he answer the phone when I called, but he was the only one that was available on the same day. I had a bee problem and within an hour of calling Chris I no longer had a bee problem. Promptness and reliability like that is rare these days. I highly recommend Chris for honey bee removal. Chris removed two large bee colonies from the soffit at the peak of my very steep and high roof. He had to remove a large section of the fasica, vacuum out hundreds of bees, and cut out slabs of honeycomb. This process involved standing for several hours in the hot sun on a small cherry picker type lift. He returned at dusk to capture the remaining bees who had initially fled during the removal. The whole project went smoothly. He was very responsive and professional. Chris was great to work with. We had an older hive 30 feet up in the soffit of a commercial building. He came out with a cherry picker lift and transported all the bees (except some stragglers) away. He repaired the soffit so it's hard to tell he was even there. I hope not to have a bee problem again, but if we do, he'll be the one to call. "Great advertising!" I thought to myself when I first spotted the Bee Conscious truck driving down College Ave. this morning in Santa Rosa. The truck was in the left lane behind a car that looked unsure of which street they wanted to turn left on. The driver of the Bee Conscious tailgated the slow moving vehicle while throwing his hands up in the air. He then aggressively passed the car while flipping the driver off and zooming past me in the right lane. That was not great advertising. Perhaps the person driving should remember his manners when in the company vehicle. If/when I need bee related services in the future, I will not use this company. read more
