Bee's Bakery definitely exceeded our expectations. We went there both days we were in town and it was fantastic both times. It is such a cute space, the decorations are very retro feeling and the wall of old sewing machines is super fun. The first day we were preparing for a day on the lake so we all had a heartier breakfast. All the adults have breakfast sandwiches and the kids had the kid's breakfast with pancakes, eggs and sausage and avocado toast. The clear favorite was my regular breakfast sandwich, with aioli and gluten free bread (which they don't charge extra for). We also got two espresso drinks, pumpkin pie and hazelnut, that were fantastic. We came back the following day to get their massive chocolate croissants for our girls. Unfortunately,I didn't see any in the pastry case. When we got to the front I asked and the sweet young man at the front ran back to the kitchen to check on their eta. He informed me it would be 30 minutes because they just came out of the oven and had not been glazed or powdered yet, or he said we could take them without as they were still filled with chocolate. The food was absolutely fabulous! We tried the Bear Claw, Biscuits & Gravy, Denver Omelette, and Bee's Breakfast Platter -- all were 5/5 stars. Everything came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The seasonings were perfectly balanced, making each dish stand out. The only reason for the four-star rating is the coffee experience. We ordered a latte and an espresso, but they didn't arrive until halfway through our meal -- only after we asked about them. The server in the dining room seemed irritated by the question and replied, "Yep, they are coming," before returning shortly with the drinks. Unfortunately, the espresso was cold. When we mentioned it, the barista seemed too busy to care. Thankfully, another kind and attentive server took care of us and reheated it in the microwave. Once warm, both drinks were actually very tasty! Great food overall, and we'd definitely come back -- hopefully with smoother service next time. read more

Cute diner. You order at the front and they bring you your food. The place has a bunch of old sewing machines throughout the store and forest animal wall paper in the bathroom. The staff were super nice and accommodating. They also had outdoor seating that was friendly to dogs. There were a couple of us with our furry others. The restaurant looked like they had a bunch of delicious pastries. We wanted a warm breakfast so opted for a Meat Lover's Breakfast Omelette with tots and sourdough bread, as well as the Chicken Fried Chicken with red potatoes and a biscuit. We also got 2 mug coffees (very much diner coffees... we went and got coffee afterwards down the street). The food was ok but nothing to brag home about. The biscuit was sweet so it was kind of odd to eat with the gravy (which was pretty generic) but was delicious for dessert. They have decent, but pretty generic diner food. If we came back, probably will just get a couple pastries to go then get coffee down the street. read more

Stopped here on our way to Yosemite National Park. This is a cute little diner nestled in Oakhurst. There's a fun outdoor patio and family fun vibes all around. We got a cold brew coffee and an iced pumpkin chai. The IPC is delicious but next time I'll get it dirty. You order at the counter and they prep your drinks quickly. We were up here for a few days visiting Yosemite. This café is close to the hotel. We were staying at in Oakhurst. We decided to try it for breakfast. I got a sugar-free vanilla latte and a breakfast burrito I also picked up a piece of the coffee cake because of the reviews. Everything was decent. I can't say that the food is bad, but I can't say that it was more than just OK. The burrito was warm. I like how they grilled the tortilla. I would not get the coffee cake again as it was super dense and lack any essence of cinnamon. We would typically get in a coffee crumb cake and my latte had absolutely no taste. I should have to preface that I come from Los Angeles where I have a plethora of amazing eateries that has spoiled me rotten. My taste is accustomed to amazing food. This is nowhere near that, but if you're looking for something that fills your belly and isn't trash, try it out just don't have high expectations. read more

Bee's has delicious bakery items, a huge selection of coffees and a menu of great food choices that are a bit pricey but generally well worth the price. However I've found food & service can be a hit or miss depending on the day. I've been there on a slow day & food service took 25 min & then arrived just sad. I got a Club Sandwich not toasted & I got a basic turkey sandwich with 2 pieces of burnt Bacon on toasted bread. When I told staff my bread was toasted she just said sorry & walked away. Today I went for lunch & it was very busy (10 people ahead of me) We ordered Bee's Smash Burger, fries and a slice of salted caramel carrot cake. We rcvd our food in 10min & it not only looked amazing but was delicious. What a difference a day makes! I've found on many different occasions that Bee's is a great place if you hit it on the right day and time as food and service are not consistent. Was passing through town and read a lot of good reviews. Not sure if they were short staffed, having internal issues or what but we were greeted by a woman who I assume was the owners mother. She didn't know how to run the register and a blonde young lady went on break abruptly. The older lady told us this and that she didn't know how to do the register and that she had no idea why the blonde girl left her. It was awkward. The owner (I assumed) came out and was just annoyed. It wasn't the most pleasant experience. The place is very cute and the food was ok. I'm sure on a better day I would have given it higher rating. We got a bunch of breakfast sandwiches, some with aioli and some without. They were all good sandwiches but nothing I would stand in line for.
